We stopped out here Saturday evening after a day of baseball. We sat ourselves outside on their patio. Our waitress was Johnna, not sure on the spelling. Young, thin blonde. It started out really rough. I asked her for a lemonade for my son who wasnt feeling the best and she got all flustered I guess because she didnt know where I was sitting. I walked away to head up to the bar to get the lemonade and she turned to my wife and said, "I didnt mean to piss him off". When she returned to take the tables drink orders she was rude and acted like she didnt want to be there. Later a lady in our group asked if their raspberry vinaigrette was gluten free which she said she wasnt sure. We said, well can you check? Rude once again she said she would check, a minute later she came out and said no its not gluten free. Our entire party didnt believe she even checked based on how she treated us so I jumped on Facebook and asked 1908 Draught Houses facebook page if that dressing was indeed gluten free to which they responded, "yes." So which is it? I called her on it and she just stared at me and abruptly stormed off. Five minutes later she returned with some excuse about her checking and her manager telling her that it wasnt gluten free. So were passed that, we order and the food was pretty good, good enough that I would return. Then it just started going really down hill, her attitude kept getting worse and worse until I finally said something to her and asked why she was being so rude, she got defensive and I let her know what she was the worst waitress we have ever had and we will not return. Johnna or however she spells her name isnt cut out for waitressing. She should find a corner somewhere without any customers and do some data entry. We will never return to 1908 Draught House again. Funny thing is, we were telling other parents about our experience there at the ballfields the next day and they also have had bad service at this location. Suggestion - stay away from this place, far far away.

Been here several times. Its got good food and an excellent beer selection, but its the service that drags it down. The guy who I can only assume is the owner or manager seems oblivious to issues with service, and sometimes is the problem. Ive waited over 5 minutes to have someone drop by my table just to see what I want to drink, meanwhile this guy and his friends are playing Golden Tee and getting drinks served constantly. Hes never seemed aware, even when its slow and hes preoccupied, that my party has sat around without anyone coming by to wait on us. Youll also have to chase down your waitress often in order to get your food order, another round of drinks, etc. It baffles me that a place that relies on you ordering things is so bad at enabling you do so. Also, they are in desperate need of a hostess. Its frustrating to go there with a group and see two people occupying a 6 person table when theres an empty booth or a smaller table around. A hostess could sit people where they belong based on their size, and not lose my business to other restaurants in the area that actually have this very basic thing down. Also, without a hostess you cant get on a waiting list. So, when its full up you have to just stand around awkwardly waiting for a table to open, and if someone else comes in after you and is also waiting you have to hope they have the common decency not to try to snag the next table. Ive given this place several chances, but unless the manager gets his act together, the servers actually notice/remember youre there, and they figure a better system for when theyre busy, I dont think Im going back anymore.

The place is a great hang out spot with an awesome patio, which the area was in desperate need of. The poor review was sparked by the service. It is consistently the worse service Ive encountered. Expect to wait 10-15 minutes for a server to stop by to take your drink order. No matter where you sit or how busy it is. Last fall I was there with a group waiting for the check. After 15 minutes of trying to get our servers attention, I needed to leave. I gave a person in my group money for the 1 drink I had, and got up to leave. Half way to my vehicle, I notice the server is running after me, waiving the check, exclaiming, “You forgot to pay!”. Since that experience, Ive given up on the servers and go straight to the bar. This isnt terrible option, but with all those tables and servers, I shouldnt need to. Ordering food is out of the question. The only reason I bother going back is the lack of options in the area. I want to change this. Is there another good patio spot in Johnston/Grimes that I am missing or do I need to open my own to get away from the bad service of the Draught House. Also, can I get clarification on the pronunciation? “Draft” house of “Draw” house. Ive heard it both ways.

Got the loaded tater tots. They came with ground beef. The ground beef was in a large chunk, which I found odd. I touched it and it was ice cold. Honestly, like it just came out of the fridge. I told the waitress the meat was cold and she just grabbed the basket and went back to the kitchen without saying a word. About 10 minutes later a new dish was given to me and this time the meat was hot , so I ate it. When I left , 15 minutes after finishing my meal, i had to stop at a wal mart parking lot and vomit. When I got home I vomited two more times. I have never eaten anything in my life that made me vomit that quickly. The grossest part is trying to figure out why... I hope I never find out. Not worth it... Drive thru McDonald before coming here.

was there on a sunday for lunch at 12:30 pm. when we arrived it was less than half full, we seated ourselves and waited. 10 minutes later we were acknowledged but only to tell us they would get to us when they could. finally got a server who took our order. food came out in okay time (seemed like a long time for how many people were there). not even 5 minutes after receiving our food, the server stopped by an asked how the tickets would be divided. she promptly went and ran the tickets and placed them back at our table. not 5 minutes after that she was back asking if we had signed the receipts. food was meh, service horrible

Ive been here many times and other Drought houses, but I was really disappointed this time. Service was OK, but other times it has been bad. I ordered a buffalo chicken salad and it literally was bagged salad (with the cabbage and carrots)with chunks of cold chicken, not even grilled, and the sauce. Previous trips we have ordered buffalo pizza... Frozen crust, burnt, gross cheese. It just wasnt good. What I dont understand is that when DH first opened in the area... the food was REALLY good and fresh. Obviously there are some cost cutting measures being implemented now. Sad because I like the atmosphere and patio.
