Second round at Mondos for lunch and again it did not disappoint. Both times Ive dined, its been with larger groups and each time theyve done a good job of making sure all our drinks were ever-full and the food came out in a very timely manner. Now to the important stuff, la comida! They serve an olio (new word of the week) of culinary offerings that ranged from flatbread pizzas and burgers to enchiladas, fish and steaks. Im normally a bit weary of any place that offers such an array as they normally do everything mediocre, but Mondos is definitely an exception. Weve tried the buffalo chicken pizza, the Margherita pizza, most of the appetizers, some pastas and the chicken avocado BLT. Everything has been really good and ultimately this place is somewhere you can go with a group or just a couple people and everyone can grab what they like. The beer list isnt extensive, but it works pretty well and the bar area is impressive. The ambiance of the place makes it feel more upscale than it actually is and overall is excellent. End result of Mondos is a place that you can go with just about anyone and theyll like it. The staff is very friendly, the food is excellent and while it doesnt stray far from pretty standard fare, they do it well enough that youll leave very happy!

An awful dining experience. They were out of our first two beer selections. The waitress waited 20 minutes before taking our dinner order. The dipping sauce for the basket of bread had entirely too much garlic. One of our entrees (a seriously overpriced $29 Steak Gorgonzola entree) arrived at room temperature. Our waitress ignored our table for a full 20 minutes after delivering the entrees. One member of our party was ignored by every member of the staff at the front of the house while waiting to speak with a manager. Finally, the managers solution to our poor dining experience was to offer not to charge us for a steak we did not eat and not too tip our waitress. we were told that she "could not do anything else". Sadly, not all the food was terrible (although the customer service was). The fried pickles were tasty and the beer we did finally get was OK. Sadly, Mondos final failure was missing out on the opportunity to make amends for an absolutely awful dining experience. We can only hope that the dining experience of other patrons isnt as awful as ours.

We used to love this restaurant but sadly, we will be crossing it off our list. The last 2 times we have been there, it has been disappointing and when you drop close to $100 for 4 people, one of whom ate from the childrens menu, it should be good. The Pasta Pacifico used to be one our favorite meals and now its average at best. Tonight, the calamari was greasy, the sauce was nowhere near as good as the former tomato caper sauce, the chicken noodle soup lacked its usual flavor, and the risotto was way too salty. The steakhouse salad was disappointing too as it came with greasy onion rings on top as opposed to the carmelized onions promised on the menu and the steak was overdone, tough and had no flavor. My son liked his macaroni and.cheese and the cheeseburger from the childrens menu was average. While the service was friendly and helpful, it is not a good sign when you finish eating and you wish you would have stayed home and eaten leftovers instead. We wont be back.

The food is way over priced for what it is. My girlfriend and I started with the salsa and queso which was really good... but sadly the highlight of our meal. For the main course I had the Chicken Alfredo which was incredibly bland and tasteless. My girlfriend had the Pork Tenderloin which wasnt anything spectacular considering the prices. Service was terrible. The server was friendly enough, but the second we got our food she completely ignored us in favor of chatting with the kitchen and cleaning tables despite the fact that the restaurant was nowhere near capacity. We went though most of our meal without anything to drink because she didnt ever check in on us. After finishing our meals, we considered just walking out because it took over twenty minutes for us to finally flag her down. This is my second poor experience here so I doubt well be coming back...

Service was fantastic as we sat at the bar for our first visit to ReUnion on our "Date Night." The bartender let us sample a few of their beers -- both of us really enjoyed the "Electric Banshee Stout." The "Brisket & Brussels" appetizer was incredibly flavorful. Then we split a "Black & Blue Burger" which was beautifully presented, cooked exactly the way we like it, and seasoned with just the right balance of heat and flavor. We will absolutely recommend ReUnion to others.

We came in after a bad experience at Monicas (waited 15 min after our reservation and still didnt have a table) and had a great experience! The entire staff was very friendly and courteous, especially our waitress Krystal. During our short 5 min wait for a table, the person at the bar (didnt get her name) got us waters, offered us menus, and was very friendly. Krystal was excellent, quick, and friendly. The food was also really good and we were thanked on the way out.

What a great deal happy hour is! 1/2 off most apps, and drink specials. The brisket and brussels are delicious, also tried the carnitas nachos and the pretzel/sausage plate. Cant go wrong with the beers either. 5 stars to the brew master. All the beers we tried were well crafted and balanced. Keep it up! I wish I remembered the servers name. All I recall is a baseball hat and a mullet :) He was one of the best, very attentive and a excellent personality.

I like this restaurant. Its good, although my girlfriend and I always get sat next to some annoying person who is probably speaking too loudly on account they have music playing loud. Oh and I love bread, this is one of the only Italian restaurants that I have had to pay for the bread though. If I am spending over $40 for a meal already, the bread should be free. It is free just across the street at Monicas.

Not Impressed! Mondo’s lacks professional customer service! My boyfriend and tried having dinner there but after being seated, we were never greeted or approached by servers to take our orders. 10minutes into our wait, another family was seated and served before us. This was our first time leaving a restaurant for lack of service. We are usually very understanding and patient but this was very unacceptable.

Terrible place. Food has no taste. They brought us diet soda with no gas in it! They replaced it with warm regular Pepsi which also has no gas in it. We four and each one ordered different thing: Burgers, Pizza, Past and Lasagna and all of them taste bad. You expect better food and drinks for prices like this! I dont recommend this place and there are much better places in Iowa City to go for.

We got brussel sprouts and brisket Wow they are amazing but also got the chips and queso cheese. Not worth the$1 off they gave me after I said something. I barely had any because it was like eating luke warm cheese out of a can. I spent $47 and you off take off a buck... but everything else was great. Good beer. And overall, good food.
