Very disappointed in the customer service I received last night while having dinner with my family. I ordered the Thursday night special which was Beef Stroganoff. My meal came out cold so I kindly asked my waitress to warm it up in which she did. When I received it back I began to stir it and noticed my noddles below the top layer had been hard and burnt black. My meal looked as if it had sat in a crockpot for days. My waitress asked how my meal was, I was honest with her and told her "not good" I also showed her the noddles and she agreed with me that it didnt look good. I asked if she would credit my meal since I had only taken one bite and she agreed to do so. When I got my bill I noticed a credit of only $3.00. When I went up to pay my bill the owner was very irritated and short with me.(Based off of her attitude to me she already knew what I was about to say) I explained to her that I was unhappy with my meal and why and also asked her to credit my meal in full not $3.00. She made a comment to me saying "The people behind you come here every Thursday, they love it and said it tasted great". I told her thats good for them but my experience was not that way. I have ate at Stove House several times in which I also told her, it disappoints me with the way I was treated. My family and I will not be returning due to this poor service we received.

TERRIBLE!!!! My family stopped at this place on the way back from Des Moines. I ordered the Jalapeño Burger and received a plain hamburger. Rather than redo my order, the waitress gave me raw jalapeños and an uncooked piece of swiss cheese, and still did not give me the BBQ sauce that was supposed to come with it. My familys food was all overcooked. Waitress didnt smile, and acted as if we were a bother to her. She Didnt ask for one single refill on our drinks. Had to go to the front counter to ask for a to go box because she never came to check on us. When I paid the bill, the cashier didnt say one word to me, or smile. She just took my card, and handed me the paper to sign. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!! I will be sure to tell everyone to never come here!

Terrible experience. The italian dressing used for one of the salads was obviously spoiled (very wrong color and texture), and the waitress served a cup of butter with a large crack through the bottom. One of our partys fries had a fly stuck to it, presumably fried on. The waitress was largely absent; we had to get refills and the like from the owner. I ordered an omelette, and the insides were still liquid and cool. Ive been coming here since theyve opened, and theyve never been the greatest in the service department, but the food was always decent. With this latest experience, though, I now question the foods safety. You could probably get better food from the gas station next door.

Definitely worth a visit if youre traveling through Central City sometime. The decor is the best Ive seen in any family restaurant and its one of the cleanest places Ive ever visited. Everyone in our party (a group of four people) enjoyed the food immensely. The only real issue was with service. While it was friendly, it was unfortunately slow. That appears to be an under-staffing issue, since the restaurant was very busy when we dined there and only one waitress was available. Still, it was a positive overall experience, and I would return there in the future.

I ordered the chef salad and paid extra for grilled chicken. The salad was small for the price, and there was only a smattering of tiny grilled chicken cubes on it. It tasted okay, but on the whole, I felt overcharged and under fed. I wont be going back.
