Before heading over to Eagle Creek I figured that we should probably eat something first. I didnt want something heavy, but something that would last for longer than 5 minutes. I did a search for new places to try on the NW side of Indy and found Sub 16. Sub 16 is located just south of downtown Zionsville on Zionsville Rd (I believe up there it changes name to Main St). It is in a small strip center just slightly north of 106th. There are a few parking spots out front and a large parking lot in the back. When you walk in the counter is to the left (if you come in off Main St.) and there are a few cramp tables to the right. Towards the back are the restrooms. There were two people behind the counter at the time - a guy and girl. Both of them were very friendly and answered any questions that we had. Unlike your traditional sub shop you have many sizes to chose from. The XL actually is about 18", a Large is 12" a Medium is 8" and a small is 6" (if I remember correctly). I went with the 8" pulled pork. Now the girl told me that they make their own sauce for it...some kind of apple cider slaw. I told her to pile it on, and I am glad that she did. It was sooooo good. The bread was soft on the inside but had a little crunch on the outside. The pork was cooked to perfection. And their homemade slaw was to die for. The only thing that I found really odd is the placement of the pop machine. It is literally right next to the door. So if you are getting a drink and someone comes in the door...well you have to dance a little to get by. The tables are close together which would make it more difficult to have a conversation if the place was busy. On the day we went - it was not. They have a lot of choices when it comes to subs too. They offer cold as well as hot subs. The meats and cheeses are cut at the time of ordering so it is fresh and you know it wasnt some meat that probably was processed elsewhere. I think the meat was Bores Head too, but I am not for sure on that - but I think I saw that in the counter. But regardless its fresh meat and tastes great. The chips that you can get with the meal are a brand I have never heard of before. It was called Cape Cod - and they were great as well. Really could give Lays a run for their money! If you are in the Zionsville area and want a nice lunch without breaking the bank check out Sub 16!!!

My husband and I have been going to this sub shop just about every week for probably a year now. They have a total of 16 different subs. My husband loves the roast beef sandwich (the beef is usually very rare) and the cheesesteak. His brother visited from Philadelphia (where the best cheesesteaks are found) recently and agreed the cheesesteak at Sub 16 was the best he had eaten in the Indy/Zionsville area. I have tried a lot of subs and they are all very good. The bread is always fresh and is what we consider to be the best bread of all the sub shops around. The meat, cheese and toppings are generous. The owners and employees are very friendly and helpful. We highly recommend this sub shop.

I love this place. Every time I come here I get the same thing: A giant grilled chicken with pepperjack cheese and its easily my favorite sandwich. Ive tried this exact sandwich at the other local shops like Dibellas, and Wich Wich and I still say Sub 16 is the best. For the price and the fact that I found the DoorDash delivery service... I always treat myself to Sub 16 at least once a week. When I do get a chance to go in, its always friendly service and the store is always clean. I couldnt ask for a better shop than Sub 16 in Zionsville.

I opened an Insurance agency in Zionsville 2 years ago. It was about the time Sub 16 opened. There are three of us in our office and we have been eating there regularly ever since. We all agree Sub 16 is the best sandwich shop we have ever been to. The prices are reasonable. The service is always great, regardless of how busy they are and the food is fantastic. We have our favorites, but we have not had anything there which was not really good. Try it out. Id be shocked if you dont love it.

Best sandwiches in Indy maybe even the midwest.... and thats saying something. This place is awesome!! Meat and cheese is sliced to order and the veggies are all fresh. The staff is also very friendly. Bergen is my favorite employee always puts a smile on my face

The food was good and the service was quick. I really liked the bread, but the toppings arent anything extraordinary. Prices are more than a fast food sub shop, but the portions match the price. Indoor seating is limited, so be prepared to ask for it to go.

Fast and friendly with great sandwiches at affordable prices. East coast style deli/sub shop. Regular sized subs are a good portion for most people, but if you like to have some left over for later, try the giant.

Wasnt expecting to stop here. Very glad I did! Highly recommend the Sloppy 16. Meat is literally sliced in front of you. Bread was delicious. Sandwich was huge. Super nice staff. Will return.
