First time there prices pretty much normal I was disappointed with the chicken strip meal for just have the price I could of had better chicken strips from chesters inside the BP gas station the sweet potato fries barley tasted sweet potatoes and the waitress was to worried about the big tables I had to take my husbands glass up for a refill when we got our food normal 15/20 min wait his glass was empty she said she would fill it we waited and waited and we had to go up to ask for check needless to say I seen her go back to the big table several times ours she came to to get drink and food order deliver food then nothing she is probably mad about the .50 tip but not a good welcoming feeling and no coming back but they have their regulars so im sure new customers wont have a chance..

Excellent Chicken! If you like traditional (not spicy or otherwise seasoned) fried chicken, this is the place to be! The chicken is not greasy but perfectly cooked. The dinner rolls were very fresh and tasty. We had a wonderful experience and the staff was very friendly. I dont understand why this place is not mobbed with customers. When we were there, maybe 4 other tables were occupied. They did do quite a bit of take out while we were there though. If you are within 100 miles of Shelbyville, it is worth the drive. I can say that even though I grew up in the south, this is some of the best chicken I have ever had.

Probably the best broasted chicken Ive ever had. Mashed potatoes were excellent as well. The staff was friendly and courteous. We arrived about 11:30 am for lunch and were seated immediately. We ordered our drinks which came promptly. The waiter was attentive throughout our stay, and he was energetic, telling us of the family restaurant history. Our meal was served hot and fresh. Overall, this was an exceptionally pleasant dining experience. If youre looking for a great meal with a family atmosphere, this is it.

My husband and were recently in Indianapolis for a AAU Basketball Tournament. We stayed in Shelbyville and visited the Chicken Inn which Id looked up before we arrived. Our intent was to hit a different spot each day. That did not work out well. We decided to eat at this place every day. The staff there are so great. We felt welcomed each time. I cant wait to come back for another tournament just so we can eat here. Best chicken Ive ever had next to Chick Fil A but on different levels! Very pleased!

Great family dining! My kids loved the fried green beans, the fried biscuits and homemade apple butter, and of course the fried chicken (which, while I cant attest whether its indeed "the best in town," is quite good). Note that they cook the chicken from scratch, so it takes 20 minutes. If you have kids with you, order an appetizer!

The fried walleye is the best Ive ever had. All you can eat for 12.99! Service was reasonably fast. I expected to pay much more than I did for my family and I to eat here. Great food at even better prices. A new family favorite! ♿ Entrance is wheelchair accessible, not sure about the restrooms, Ill update when I return.

2 tables that came in after is got their food before is. The only thing that was still hot wad my chicken. Apparently our food sat around while our server was serving the party that came in after us. I have given this place too many chances. Cant see it happening again.

Good stuff! Our family had the chicken, slaw, chicken tenders and strawberry pie. All was excellent, but watch out for the fried biscuits.... They are excellent but will kill your appetite!!!! Treat yourself to a visit to this excellent place if you get a chance.

The food AND the people are tasty!! :) Chicken is always fresh,hot,and good! Their sides are good and ample portions... Tea is fresh brewed and their Fried Walleye rocks! Plus its nice to sit and talk in this drive thru world!
