The food at Yamato was pleasing to my taste buds. The sushi was excellent and the hibachi was wondrous. My main complaint is when me and my grandfather came in they yelled some chinese or something and my grandfather fell into a spout of PTSD. He proceded to scream "those slope heads are gonna skin me, Russle take em out! Theyre in the trees twelve Oclock!" He then died from a heart attack. its a nice place if they get your food correct, always check your food for carry out before you leave (Ive had to go back 3x for the same order trying to have them get it right). service depends on whos working, and its sadly not that uncommon to be put on hold for 10+ minutes... which is them setting down the phone so if you hang up, the line is busy until they remember they put you on hold.

I have never had a bad experience at Yamato. The food is always fresh and reasonably priced, especially the bento boxes . Call in orders are always quick, and the staff are polite and well groomed. I do wish the sushi bar was open for seating ,and perhaps even an area for cocktails . Overall satisfied.

Pleh. Meh. If you love Japanese food, go to Dayton. If you just want a hint of it, this place is serviceable. I myself am frightfully bored by their dishes, and they often screw up my order.

Great food and service!!! There is a room where you can also watch your food cooked at the table which is a fun experience!!! The yum yum sauce is good on everything!!!!
