Ate at The Smelly Gourmet today and it was wonderful!! We were met at the door with a free sample of their fresh popped popcorn to try while we decided on lunch. I had a caramel latte and my husband had a mocha latte, along with their unsweetened tea. He had a philly cheese steak panini, and I had a grilled cheese and bacon panini. It was all so delicious! And their homemade chips, fried to order, was amazing! When our bill came to us, on the open air back deck, they brought us a free sample of their caramel corn for dessert. We sat and chatted with the owners, and had an all around wonderful time. Cant wait to go back!

These are fantastic paninis made fresh to order. I actually had the spam panini and it was wonderful! The bread is homemade and part of it comes from the corn grist across the street. The "Geek Art" shop is really cool. You cant imagine how the Gourmet has put all that stuff together. My spouse loved the flavored teas. The Colliers are great hosts. We took the Whitewater Train down from Connersville with no knowledge of the Gourmet, now we definitely want to come back. The highlight of Metamora.

The food here is a perfect example of how delicious and wholesome food can be when it is handcrafted with artisan ingredients by someone who knows what they are doing and who truly cares about how he does it. I had a Mocha Expresso (Real expresso, mind you. Not that crap you get at Starbucks) And a bacon and cheese panini with sweet pickle chips. The bread is handmade and the bacon and cheese blend well with the sweet acidity of the pickle chips.

My husband and I went to Metamora for our 20th anniversary. We stayed in the Banes Suite owned by Steve and Brenda. It was an amazing experience. The place was extremely clean and we couldnt have ask for a better host. The Smelly Gourmet has the best cappuccino. If you like popcorn, this is the place to get it.I never knew there were so many varieties. Im told they have the best cappuccino east of the Mississippi. They also have a big selection of clocks made out of computer hard drives that were really cool.
