This is Food Heaven!! Mercado de San Miguel is as close as youll get to a market experience here in bustling downtown Madrid. It was clearly made for tourists to feast upon cheap glasses of wine and biting into some amazing Spanish tapas. Knowing this, I was ready to embrace my inner-American and feast upon some bites inside this busy market. The different boutiques inside range from 1€ pinchos (toasted bread with fresh meat or seafood on top) to 13€ cones of calamari. Naturally, I took on the full range, even if the squid was overpriced... it was delicious! Going back to the pinchos- there was one boutique close to the South entrance of the market that sold these 1€ gems. Each one was delicious! My favorites were definitely the monkfish liver and smoked salmon. After grabbing these appetizers, I washed them down with glasses of 2.50€ wine. Gentlemen will walk around the market to serve these to you without fail. If I had more time in Madrid, I definitely would have returned for some more tasty bites in such a central location.

Love their margaritas!!! Usually I sit on the bar side and never have a problem. Last night we were there for over an hour before we received or food. We ended up sending two plates back. One person in our party didnt even eat. We were there for a birthday with the intentions of ordering a cake and ice cream, but after our wait we said forget about it. I was particularly disappointed because dinner was on me as part of my gift to the birthday people, but I ended up apologizing for their birthday dinners because of our experience. Our waitress was wonderful, its just unfortunate that her manager couldnt come out and talk to upset customers. When we were leaving the seating area was rather empty, but the waiting area was packed. I love this place and I am hoping that this was just a one off night and not a glimpse of things to come for this restaurant. PLEASE CLEAN THE HIGH CHAIRS! Very sticky and gross!

I was there a week ago, and we wanted to eat Mexican food. We found this place in our GPS system. The place was ok, however, the food was horrible!, it was like being at Taco Bell, just without being a fast food environment!. The quesadillas, enchiladas, beans, and everything else is so fake!, its like they have frozen food and they put it on the microwave. I think thats what they do, otherwise, I dont see another way to present that kind of food. The music is horrible, the only authentic mexican in the place was me and my friends!. LOL Nobody there is mexican, so how can they pretend theyre doing mexican food!?.. i dont get it!. Even the orange juice was horrible, (we expected natural juice)... BUT i can say that they only GOOD thing in that place was the French Fries, which are obviously not mexican! lol.... dont go there! it is worse than eating at Taco Bell.

Our office is about a mile away and we frequently visit this location. Today we had one of the WORST experiences. We waited 25 minutes for our drink order to be taken. We waited another 45 minutes for our food, which arrived cold & dried out. One of the ladies could NOT eat her fry-yi-yi because the cheese was as hard as plastic. I asked for a side of sour cream (that I had ordered) and received a sloppy cup of sour cream with what appeared to be someone elses food in it and around the bottom of the cup. When the manager brought out the fry-yi-yi, it was brought in a (un-requested) to-go-container that was the exact same food that we sent back to the kitchen. The manager then shouted at us when we inquired about the debit card that the waitress had in her possession for over a half an hour. Disappointing visit, terrible customer service!

Me and her went there with 2 little ones. We got mexican food, kids got hotdogs and fries. Me and her should have got hotdogs! The food was NOT HOT. The salsa was bitter. My extra cheese was not extra as usual. This Hacienda has been getting worse and worse. Our bill was $50 for 2 hot dogs, 2 fries, 2 kids drinks, nacho fiesta, and small wet burrito. The server placed my plate down on the table and said "be careful its hot". My plate was room temp. Keep in mind they were not extremely busy at 4:30. I remember Hacienda was solid and always no question good. This is my 6th visit in a row with cold, low portioned cheese/meat food. I GIVE UP! Go to Goshen or Mishawaka, they actually care about the ENTIRE visit. TACO BELL IS BETTER!?!?!?!? WTF is up with that?

By no stretch of the imagination is the authentic Mexican or Tex-Mex food. But for the Midwest it is pretty good. Chips and salsa are abundant, and a lot of people mix their salsa with ranch. They are specials everyday of the week that are reasonably priced as is the rest of their food and drinks. They are known for their wet burritos, though I am not overly fond of those. I prefer their chimichangas. Good selection of food, and a good kid menu. Family friendly restaurant, service is usually really good. They are known for their margaritas that come in a variety of flavors, all quite good, along with a stocked bar. All in all, a good place to take family, a date, or a night with friends.

Sat for over 10 minutes waiting just for drinks. Finally a manager saw and brought us chips. We waited for another 45 minutes for our food. She came at one point and said we were just waiting on the french fries, but we didnt see any food for at least 10 more minutes. When the food came the plates were warm at best. When we arrived there wasnt any clean silverware or cups....that was apparently the holdup on the drinks. She said there were multiple parties and thats why our food took so long. The parties have had their food since we showed up and the place was about 1/2 empty. We had to track down another server to get our bill and to go containers. We will not go back.

Hacienda USED to be a good tex-mex restaurant with good prices and very good food. They have been riding on reputation ONLY for the last five years or so, not only has the food quality deteriorated, so has the quantity as well as the prices. Pay more get less, and very low quality too. The last taco salad I ordered was shredded iceberg with tuna on it, with a couple of diced tomatoes and three or four sliced black olives..........go figure, cost me about 7 bucks too, what a rip off. Go for the drinks, eat elsewhere!!
