At the buffet, across the board food was bland and flavorless. One reviewer hit the nail on the head saying you could easily make this food yourself (or buy it frozen or canned) and have it taste as good. The best tasting dishes were the spinach pakora and the Saag Paneer (fried and creamy are hard to mess up). The worst has to be the Mushroom Korma, which crossed the line between bland and disgusting. For dessert, the Kheer was disappointingly un-spiced (a bowl of milk with rice in it, basically), and the fruit custard had just enough mango syrup in it for color, but not enough to actually taste. If you like the idea of Indian food, but find it is often too flavorful for your palette, you might get a lot of enjoyment out of eating here, otherwise stick to other restaurants, this far from the best game in town. P.S. The owner was rather curt, too; good luck getting them to honor their coupons, you may need it.

I wish there were no star voting because I had the worst experience and it was my first time eating at the new location. I witnessed a male boss verbally abusing one of his female employees and it made me feel very uncomfortable eating there. I ended up talking to the man who was verbally abusing the woman because I felt that man made a mistake and this poor woman was just being assaulted verbally and she looked so vulnerable. I felt like she didnt speak English but she was a great waitress. Overall the food were amazing but I am not going to stand for any kind of gender inequality or putting woman down because I believe that we are equal and no one deserves to be treated like the poor waitress today. I wouldnt recommend going here because of the way they treat their employees and how disrespectful the manager was to women.

I love India garden! I would come here everyday if I could but alas I cannot. I do think you should go if you can. Its THE BEST Indian place in bloomington. My favorite time to go is during the lunch buffet. They dont have as many options as some of the other Indian restaurants in town but the food is top notch and so much higher in quality, it tastes a million times better. When you do go do yourself a favor and eat the kheer (rice pudding)! It is by far my favorite and the rice pudding standard to which I hold all other rice puddings.

Great Indian food- I have tried all the Indian restaurants in Bloomington and several others in the Central/Southern Indiana region (including several that no longer exist), and this is by far the best- the food is very flavorful and satisfying. The buffet price cant be beat- only $7.99 every day! (Little-known tip: you can also get a carryout buffet for the same price.) I have also loved everything that Ive tried on the dinner menu- specifically the Butter Paneer and the Hyderabadi Chicken Biryani. You should definitely give them a try!

I was two thumbs up with the other reviews...until today. We arrived at 11:45 a.m. Even though the steam was rising from underneath the pans, most of the dishes were cold to lukewarm, especially the chicken dishes; the chicken legs were dry and cold; and the bread wasnt even warm. The only thing hot that was meant to be hot was the tea and it was delicious. It was yesterdays food, which might have been ok if the dishes had been heated. We will probably try again, but we certainly wont be first in line.

India Garden is a wonderful restaurant with amazing service. We recently had a catering order for over 200 people and the staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect and delicious ! I cannot express how happy we were with how everything turned. Highly recommend for lunch, dinner, or your catering needs! Also you have to try the buffet, extremely fresh and tasty!

Always have a pleasant experience here along with great food. Dinner entrees are very good, and the potato naan is awesome! Servers are very professional and well dressed. The lunch buffet must be made to serve all tastes, so you sometimes wish the dishes were spicier, but its priced very competitively.

Went here for lunch, and they had a great lunch buffet! Delicious naan, awesome rice pudding, chicken masala and tons of other classic Indian foods. If youre a fan of Indian food, or looking to try it out, this is a really great place to go to dip your feet in and eat some good food. Enjoy!

Review of lunch buffet: Each item has its own unique taste with a whole bunch of flavor. Lots of items available for vegetarians. Be sure to try there naan! A must visit if you like Indian food. Staff there are very nice, friendly, and helpful. Happy to have them in Bloomington!

Best curries in Bloomington! Their tikka masala dishes (butter chicken, shrimp tikka masala, etc) are really really good and better than the other Indian places in town. Was not a fan of their rice though--too much going on. Give generous serving sizes too.

Great food, probably my favorite Indian food in Bloomington, but I usually do takeout and their service for takeout is horrible. It always takes forever, often have messed up orders, so I would only recommend eating in, although then bugs become an issue.

Unhygienic, bad food. I saw cockroaches roaming around on the floor many times but didnt pay attention. I stopped going after I found some bug in my water glass. My office mates have similar opinions. Terrible. Dont bother going. Also, food is bad.

Bland tasteless food. Some of the food was clearly stale. The Biryani tasted burnt. The butter chicken had an overpowering cream flavor. There was no balance of flavors. On the whole as an Indian I would not recommend this experience.

Sorry to say but food wasnt really good. Rice was not cooked. Gajar halwa was gone bad. Vegetarian options were not really good. Dal makhani had burned taste. They need to improve the food quality. People were kind and polite.

We eat here at least once a week. Friendly, fast, delicious. Their buffet is worth checking out, but we do dinners more often. Weve tried all the different Indian cuisine places in town and this one remains our favorite.

Pompous and arrogant. I just had a baby and wanted to treat myself to some indian food. I was by myself and they said all theyre tables were reserved. With only 2 people there. They would rather me leave than seat me.

Nice food with a quick service and decent ambience in a fancy neighbourhood. The quantity is generous and the pricing reasonable. Loved it. A place you can come back to if you are really fond of Indian food.

Best Indian food in town and the best prices. Id eat there every day if I could, but I go at least once a month. A nice dinner for two for only $20 is hard to beat and they always honor their coupons.

The service was good. But the food did not taste anything near to Indian food. Would suggest other Indian restaurants in Bloomington for Indian food.
