First time here and we wont be back. Service seemed okay, until our server began raising her voice at the elderly man sitting a booth away from us. He asked if the price of what he ordered was correct on the check because he thought he saw a different price on the menu. (He misread which is understandable, as the print is small in the menu and he may not have had good sight.) He asked in a polite manner, only to be embarrassed by the server who drew way too much attention to the issue! She was speaking so loudly that it got the attention of another worker who then began watching from the other side of the restaurant by the kitchen. Our waitress showed him the menu and when she went to put it back on the stack of menus, she agitatedly flung it there. When we got our meal we were given the check soon after and before I could finish my pancakes our server started cleaning up the table and took my syrup away without asking. We were there about a half hour and she asked if we wanted a box. Also, the prices here were expensive, and the food is just good to mediocre. $30 for breakfast for 2. Owner was very unfriendly when we paid and didnt make eye contact or ask how our experience was.

My toddler son and I attempted to eat at the Honey Bee on Easter morning. Due to my sons age, I need to sit next to him and assist him with his meal. Being a single mom, this means only two of is occupy a table. We arrived well before church let out, and only three tables in the restaurant were occupied. The owner REFUSED to seat my son and I in a location where I would be able to sit next to him- which would have been a four person booth. He states that he would lose too much money, and that our business (a mom and a small child) was not important to him. I was essentially discriminated against for attempting to eat at a restaurant with a party of two and for having a small child that would require me to sit side by side.

My girlfriend and I went here for lunch on a Saturday since she works around here. It is a very cozy establishment which is populated by a seemingly older crowd - perhaps only on the weekends. Therefore, it is not very loud and bustling. In any case, being a cafe, you can order anything from breakfast items to dinner items. I had the Reuben sandwich, which was excellent, if a bit on the small side. The prices are decent but you do not get a lot of food here (compared to even some places in downtown Chicago with similar prices). Overall, if you are looking for a quick breakfast or lunch I would highly recommend this place.

Disappointing! About $10.00 for a dry patty melt with the onions not even cooked enough to be carmelized! 5 onion rings on the plate! Disturbing atmosphere as a an elderly man thought the price of his reuben was less than the receipt. When he asked his waitress also elderly, she raised her voice as she corrected him and showed him the price on the menu and then flung the menu back to the pile. He and his wife looked uncomfortable. High prices, small amounts of food and bad visit. Not going back.

Delicious food, reasonably priced, and served in a clean, cheery setting. Had breakfast with my wife, and both of our meals came out quickly, piping hot and tasty. My coffee cup was always full, and everyone there, especially our hostess, Helen, made my wife and me feel right at home! Definitely will return to the Honey Bee....maybe for dinner next time?

Just your basic eggs-and-pancakes-all-day family restaurant, but the service here is so wonderfully friendly! The omlettes are all made to order, and really fluffy. The dont skimp on the ingredients either. Never crowded, and most of the patrons seem to know each other from the neighborhood. Good food, fair prices and fast, friendly service.

This is my familys irregular brunch spot since its close to home. The food is ok but the staff is great. Unfortunately their coffee is really watered down and tasteless. Probably overpriced for the lower quality of the food and drinks

If it is the only place, ok. Not impressed with flavor or service. Asked for hashbrown crispy, got em soggy. Eggs were barely cooked right. No follow up after serving. A 5 on a 10 pt scale.
