Admittedly, I know someone who likes this place, as clearly a lot of reviewers do. Unfortunately, it was without a doubt the worst Chinese vegetable dish Ive ever had, and the worst tofu. I literally found it too repulsive to eat and threw most of it out. The mushrooms were slimy canned mushrooms; the "vegetables" were grossly overcooked and limp; and the tofu was a kind Ive never gotten in Chinese food - basically soft, uncooked, like cubes of snot. So I would strongly discourage anyone from ordering Tofu Vegetable or the just vegetable dish. The tofu literally turned my stomach. I will never order from here again and would actually prefer to go hungry. If I hadnt thrown it out already, I would have included a picture, if I could bare to look at it that long.

LOVE this place. I have never had better Chinese. Period. With my husband being in the Air Force we travel a lot. No place even compares. I go back to Illinois with a smile on my face, after a long trip this is the first place I go. Best egg rolls, and I love the family that runs the place, sweet people. Im 22 and they still Remember me from going when I was 12. I would recommend this place to anyone, as long as your willing to accept that all other Chinese food will never measure up again....i miss it. It has been two years since I have had it, thankfully I will be visiting in two months...the cravings are driving me Crazy.

Overall, decent food. I know a lot of people rave about the dishes, but honestly, I think theyre average. I certainly wouldnt go there for the atmosphere - the floors are sticky and dirty, and I have had dirty utensils several times. Perhaps the most alarming of all however, is the way the owner treats his employees. I was shocked to walk in one day to the owner screaming at one of his waitresses over what seemed to be a small mistake. Completely unprofessional and mind-boggling! Save yourself the time and money - this is not an establishment I like to give my money to anymore.

AT LEAST ONE MORE! :) my family has lived in warrenville for over 10 years and before that west chicago.. and if we ever move far away i will be having this food shipped out to me...hee hee...I have not ever bothered to order chinese food from another place and i am not starting now.. we love it and the prices are quite fair.... our family secret?,, its our favorite CHRISTMAS dinner! casual dining room...awesome staff....excellent american/chinese food..worth your money and time! <3

Flew in from Tucson AZ last week. First place on my list was China house. Just as good as its been for the passed 25 years of me eating there. Unfortunately Im flying back to AZ tomorrow so Ill be heading in for one last China House lunch special this afternoon. It will forever be my favorite Chinese restaurant. Best egg rolls, fried rice, Mongolian beef, general tsos, eggdrop soup and curry chicken!! (All my personal favorite.) Ken the owner is THE MAN.

Absolutely horrible food! My wife and I bought Sesame Chicken and Orange Chicken and it was disgusting! We ended up taking a few bites and had to throw it all away! Paid over 30$ for this crap! Im telling you, stay far away from this restaurant! I was fooled by the high ratings this restaurant received which I think its fake reviews from family or friends of the owners of this restaurant! Youve been warned!!!

I used to go tto this place once a week for lunch from work. That was for about the first ten years it was open. My visits have tapered off as I live further away now and am trying to eat healthier, but I went back recently and the food is still some of the best Ive had. Ive been to china towns in S.F., Honolulu, D.C. and Chicago, and this place still rates (food wise) as one of the best.

Ive eaten at China House for lunch and dinner. Each time I ordered a special which included a main course, rice, and an egg roll. Their shrimp on black bean sauce was good. The moo goo gai pan and Mandarin beef were flavorless. They tasted like they contained canned meat and sauces.

The best Chinese restaurant in the area. Their egg rolls are the best Ive ever had and the hot and sour soup is excellent. Very nice family run restaurant and Grace always has a friendly smile to greet you. They have an extensive menu and great weekday lunch specials.
