Great place if you are dinning with children. While this isnt my favorite restaurant to eat at, I do like coming here with my kids. They really enjoy the atmosphere of the restaurant, which I would describe as fun and kid oriented. They have cool color changes light all over the restaurant that my kids love to look at. They also have a good kids menu and a good variety of breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the regular menu. They are always having seasonal specials which are good (German food during Oktoberfest, Irish food around St. Patricks Day, friday fish fry during lent). I have had good food here but I would say for the most part it is a little better than your average breakfast diner. They server breakfast all day and are known for there ice cream. They have a desert ice cream dish that they are known for called the kitchen sink that is a huge pile of ice cream and ice cream related toppings that comes in a kitchen sink. Passing by this cafe many times but first time walked in. Tried the Rueben sandwich, the toast and the dressing were great. The corn beef and the sauerkraut need some improvement. The sandwich and the fries were also smaller in portion comparing with others. But we definitely go there again. Many delicious food on the menu and not crowd but speedy service at lunch hour.

Our family loves this place. The prices are excellent and the classic diner food is always executed well. Youre going to find what you want to eat on the menu, and there will always be a few choices that will intrigue. The salads are surprisingly fresh and satisfying if you need to go healthy. The dessert menu is always very very exciting to my kids.

Not sure what all the fuss is about. Food was OK, Milk shake was very good, service was good, prices were a little on the high side. Had the buffalo chicken wrap, so much sauce that one bite and it turned into a pile that I had to eat with a fork. Didnt try any ice cream so maybe I missed something.

Colonial Cafe is an institution in Saint Charles. Good food, great service. Especially good for breakfast. Famous in the area for their ice cream desserts. Sundaes, shakes, malts, and special dessert creations. If youre looking for a place to stop for dessert, look no further.

Went there with my kids for ice-cream. Was told there was going to be a wait due to a party taking place. When asked how long of a wait, we were told "a really long wait". Basically, there was no definite time. What kind of place is this? They surely arent getting my business

Always a great experience! The service is attentive and the food delicious. Love the monterey bacon omelette. Nice to go to a place with plenty of gluten free options! Definitely recommend this for breakfast with friends and family.

This location has moved to 552 S. Randall Road, next to the Kane County Clerks Office, across from the Kane County Fairgrounds. Very good food though. I love their ice cream!
