Wow total fail!! 1. This is so close to Chicago yet quality is like a remote small town 50 miles away from the nearest City. They simply did not compete with flavor or quality, there are simple street-side chicken places in the north side of Chicago that do so much better. Something so simple like the gravy that comes with the bucket of chicken is definitely from a can, complete lack of effort. 2. Unskilled management or ownership is clearly reflected in poor service during dinner rush. Theres a very commonly known restaurant term that is crucial in rush hour service. For lunch and dinner rush almost every imaginable place has a position called the expediter, this is basically the person that helps out with service and overall effectiveness of the team. There were a lot of employees very busy doing their job but because of a lack of pre-planning no one was making things go smoothly. There was one confused customer standing around waiting for drinks and I was waiting to ask for some ketchup packets for almost four minutes as there was no one really available to provide customer service. 3. Finally lets talk about an overpriced menu. the first picture I included is a meal combo they have for $6 plus tax, which means you get a drink and then that tiny bit of rice noodles with some sauce and three shrimp and two pieces of sliced boiled egg and a few bits of chicken. I eat out at Asian restaurants and Ive worked at Asian restaurants, no way did what I was served worth more than a dollar to prepare, maybe $2. If it tasted amazing or say it was a bigger portion or maybe even that it was a great presentation, then it might be said to be worth it. Alas the answer is no, The visit was a complete disappointment.

First visit 2 hr wait during a sunday, perhaps it was because its new. Bought spaghetti, the pasta tasted too different as did the hotdog. Not the same as the Philippine Jollibee Spaghetti. Where is all the cheese? 1 star. Second visit short wait, few people. perhaps because it was a weekday and not during lunch. Bought palabok, tastes different, had lemon instead of calamansi, and there are bits of meat that produce a different taste. Its not bad, just different. overall it could compete with the philipine palabok so I wont complain about it. 1 star. Third visit, bought spaghetti gave spaghetti another chance, perhaps if I didnt have to wait for 2 hrs i would enjoy it more. they gave me palabok instead lol. i returned it, although its funny because palabok is more expensive than spaghetti. Fourth Visit, bought spaghetti again. It was better this time, also bought halo halo. The halo halo was fine, and had 2 scoops of ice cream. *although small, i also like that the water cups are near the machine that you dont have to ask the staff to give you one, compared to other stores. their buzzer system is also a good feature the bathroom smells almost like the ones in the philippines. not sure if that is something they should be aiming for.... if anything this is what they should avoid making " similar" finally. the entrance for the disabled has 2 heavy pushdoors instead of auto sliding doors. you pretty much cant enter on your own without asking for help. true the staff can run out and help you... but thats very tedious. 1 you have to disrupt them from their work, 2 you actually stay there while waiting for them supposing they notice you during busy time .

This is the fast-food chain I grew up with in the Philippines so I was really excited that there was one here. However, we waited for the hype to mellow before going there because we dont want the long wait as experienced by some or maybe most who went there a few days or weeks of the opening. Googgle info was helpful especially the popular times data. It said it is busy on weekends so for our first time visit we went there on a Monday and around 9am. Despite being a holiday on that day, it was not busy at all. There were still lots of unfilled tables and line was just 2 or 3 persons in front of us. Perhaps, it also helped that the other branch located in Seafoods City is already open. Of course, no doubt our family loved all the food especially the chicken, corned beef breakfast combo, halo halo, and peach mango pie. We didnt order all the food but surely we will come back. Some of our order werent as what we ordered. But, we kept them anyway because it turned out we wanted them too. Anyway, I think it was my fault too because I was not really paying attention when the attendant showed and reiterated my order to me prior to paying. Yes, they show and reiterate it for you. It pays to pay attention, huh? :) The only thing we found annoying there was the music was too loud. We told the manager about it, though. Lastly, this is a Filipino fastfood chain (just in case some dont know) so you would see most Filipinos there dining.

The first day on July 29th 2016 was in one word amazing. The Midwest has not had a Jollibee or any major retail Philippines store here ever so this day was a big deal. I got there around 4AM and there was about 40 people in front of me and three hours until the doors opened. I was able to get the Jollibee doll as they gave them away to the first 300 customers that spent 20 dollars or more. The doll sings and daces so it is much more then just a stuffed bee. The leader of Jollibee USA was there and so was of course Jollibee. The staff was super friendly and helpful. They had I heard over 5000 customers that day so the job they did was A+. Comparing the store here in Chicago to the ones in Metro Manila Philippines. I would say the food tasted the same to me but the difference was the amount of people on the first day in Chicago. I been to a lot of Jollibee stores in Metro Manila and never once saw the energy level and amount of people as I saw in Chicago that day. I had the Chicken joy and Burger steak and both were great. I will be back and I will go as much as I can. It is a very exciting place and if you have a chance you have to try it. Yelp only allows 5 stars but they deserve 6 stars.

I visited Jollibee on 10/8/2016 and found the food to be really good and have been wanting to visit since opening day after learning more about it from my Filipino friends. We waited in line for about an hour (arrived around 10:30am) and waited about 15mins for our food to be prepared. Was it worth the wait? I would think so as the food was tasty. My bf and I tried the Chickenjoy, a Yum burger, Halo Halo, Ube Pearl Cooler, mango peach pies and a pineapple float. Over all the food was really good - chicken had great flavor and was moist and extremely juicy. The burger had a different flavor than your american burger which made it more enjoyable. The desserts were great and looking forward to going back for another Halo Halo. I didnt know what to expect when ordering it as it has different flavors and items that I wouldnt think of being in a dessert but now I want to go back for another one. The mango/peach pies remind me of McDonalds apple pies but with better flavor and a really crispy/flaky crust. Would I go back there again? Sure! I would go earlier in the morning just to beat the rush but this visit was worth a repeat.
