So sad this place has gone out of business after many decades. Their prices, for the most part, were always better than Kuhns in Des Plaines, which as far as I know is the only German deli left in Chi-town. It was our go-to source for Dutch licorice, honey candies, and other delicacies like soft pretzels. Well, a small consolation is the huge $15.99 bag of double salt Dutch licorice I scored for just $2.00 in their going-out-of-business sale. It is especially soothing for colds and sore throats, which I coincidentally have right now.
