Meijer has some of the best produce in the area, short of going to a farmers market. Their baked goods are quite tasty for a super market. Weve enjoyed their ready to bake pizzas a number of times, as well. Getting fresh cut produce and meats has always been a great experience. The folks serving there are always kind and generous and readily offer samples. Ive found their selection to be good. My family started shopping for more exotic choices, and Ive only not been able to find one thing. That was indian chili powder. My dislikes are that the isles are annoyingly structure to get you to pass all the junk you dont need in hopes to get you to shop them. The signs for the isles have odd selections, like boxed potatos? Is that really such a common need that they define an isle by that? Finally, its a huge store with a ton of selection. Thats a perk until you have to hunt for items, because employees dont just float the isles to bother. Really, Im shocked these guys Just dont develop an app you can enter your list into to get locations, or have kiosk tablets at the ends of isles that you can search to find what youre after. Honestly, these pass with time, so its more of a temporary complaint. The place is always packed, which is quite telling. That can lead to some long wait times to check out, but its only bad at peak times. All in all, its one of the best places you can shop. Sign up for mperks and save some cash. Its a stupid tax if you dont.

I was disgusted by how the fish are treated here. The first thing I noticed was that the tank with goldfish was overcrowded, which I let go because it does tend to happen in stores. The water was also cloudy in almost every tank. The thing that upset me the most though was that in the bottom of one of the tanks there was a pile of about 6 plecos dead. In the tank right next to it there were a couple dead ones as well. I did not find a single one that was alive. I understand that it is common to find dead fish in stores but this was ridiculous. They obviously need to learn how to care for fish properly or they shouldnt even be selling them.

This particular meijer I would not recommend going to. They had no lanes opens and the only thing that worked was self check out. And Im sure you can only imagine having a full cart of groceries through the self checkout. Managers were standing around while the other employees helped bag in self checkout besides me. I talked to the manager and She apologized cause She kept getting b*tched at and walked away.(way to keep it professional) Thats it. She didnt bother helping me out. I will NEVER go to this meijer again! The meijer in round lake has way better customer service care.

Beware of frozen and refrigerated items at this store. I have had a history with this store of buying frozen things that have clearly been defrosted and refrozen - finding whole cases of frozen goods melted / defrosted and refrigerated things that were either spoiled or that spoiled much more quickly then they should have. I have even commented to store staff about the cases of melting food and they have told me that the freezer was in a "defrost cycle" and tried to convince me this is "normal". Dont believe it and be careful.

I love this store for so many reasons! I can get anything I need in one stop, friendly staff, clean and well lit. Now, lets not forget about the company itself! Walmart is one of the biggest CAUSES of poverty in the USA...because they do not pay most employees a living wage and keep them at part time. I have not found that to be true with Meijers. Its not $15 an hour, but still much better.

Clean and well organized. Watch the return policy carefully. Some items have less then 30 days. They refuse defective items if your receipts are past whatever the return time limit was, Even gifts. They keep changing the return policy and any purchased warranties just replaces product, but if they no longer carry it, they tell you to send item back to manufacturers.

This is the primary location for most of my grocery shopping. Shelves are usually well stocked and Ive never had an issue with the staff. The guys at the meat counter and the gals behind the deli counter are very friendly and can usually help out with planing a meal and making suggestions. Pretty nice liquor and beer selection at this location as well.

Since the remodel I enjoy shopping here much more! The produce section has always been the biggest and best around, but now the womens clothing section has vastly improved. I was so impressed to see every size from petite to plus all on the same racks! The clothing styles offered seem to have improved as well. Thanks Meijer =)

Im in today at Meijer and the bath room smell bad really bad and then they always busy but couple of the registers its not open specially during a busy day. You better open more registers because the help cheek out its busy too . I think you should think about that next time.

A lot of times they need more registrars open. Also when they have sale items. You go to grab an item the sale items always seems to be empty. they either have a stocking issue or an ordering issue either way of you want a sale item you better go early before its gone!

just signed up for Meijer rewards, and Ill be back. I also like that they are almost done with the new place in Round Lake. Ill end up going to Meijer a lot more because of the new location, but Im happy I visited this store to see what they have to offer!

Usually has what I need here. Not as cheap as Wal-Mart (obviously), but its usually not as crowded either. When it is crowded, there are actually employees working the registers or enough self registers to quickly get people out the door.

Used to like shopping here but they are now replacing Wally World. The amount of clueless employees and disrespectful shoppers is mind numbing . They must all be drinking from the shallow end of the gene pool or McCollum Lake

Used to love it here but now I have been waiting in line for 20 minutes with about 20 people waiting to check out and 4 lanes open. Awesome. And there are 3 ladies sitting at customer service twirling their hair. Fun times

I love meijer! I have been working here for 5 years! Great company to work for! Our Meijer Mperks are awesome! I mostly use the rewards. Saves you tons of money. Especially the baby rewards. Every $100 spent you save $10.

Ugh I haaaate the set up of the grocery area. Didnt like how their meats were arranged...always suuuuper busy and horrible parking...i really tried to like this place...i prefer Wal-Mart or Jewel
