Can I give negative stars? I have been to this restaurant a few times because I dont like to base my opinion on just a one time visit. I go to restaurants that I love and sometimes there are bad nights, which is why I give them more than one chance. The service in this restaurant has been horrible time and time again. The food, amazing, but the service is just plain terrible! The waiters and waitresses always look absolutely miserable. There was one time that I went that I did have a very pleasant waitress, her name was Samantha and if you want to ignore my review and go try it for yourself anyways, Id highly suggest requesting her to be your waitress. I overheard a conversation between an customer and the owners wife (Im assuming she was the owners wife because of the way she answered the question), the customer was commenting on how large the servings are and was excited that she had food to bring home for leftovers. To which the woman replied in a very bitter tone "I know the servings are too big Ive told my husband that several times, do you have any clue how much we spend on carry out containers?" Im sorry Im not a restaurant owner (or the wife of one for that matter) but I just felt that response was absolutely ridiculous! You would think she would be happy that the customer was happy and and have a response along the lines of "Great Im glad you have lunch for tomorrow!" or something of the sort. This restaurants absolute biggest downfall will be their service and its very unfortunate because the food was delicious.

Ive been to Cucina Rosa several times since they opened and I wanted to give them a few tries before I posted a rating. Its easy to see that theyve worked out their opening bugs and are now in a groove. I can understand one of the other reviewers not being pleased with service when they first opened, but I dont see that still being an issue. The food is great and the portions are ridiculous. We always order baked clams, which no joke, are the best Ive ever had. I frequently order the medallions gorgonzola as my entree which is unreal if you like two things: steak and blue cheese. My wife will typically order chicken marsala or gnocchi and I get to have it for lunch the next day due to the previously mentioned portions. Ive also taken some clients from out of town and theyve described Cucina Rosa as a hidden gem. All in all, I recommend enthusiastically.

Ive never posted any reviews but for this place I will. The food was horrible I ordered spaghetti & meat balls seriously how can you mess that up. The sauce was a tomato paste with barely any seasoning and my wife got the gnocchi with the same kind of terrible sauce I had on the spaghetti. The service was slow and wine selection small. I will say that we ordered the calamari appetizer which was very good but everything went quickly downhill from there. I will not go back regardless of the portion sizes which is completely irrelevant when the food itself is awful!!

Absolutely delicious! I come from an Italian background and my dad only raves about my grandmothers lasagna. Until he came here. He told me how great it was and told me I had to try it. Tonight I got the lasagna dinner special to-go. IT WAS HUGE! Enough to feed me and my two year old. It came with a soup which I chose creamy broccoli, also very tasty! Im happy to have found this place. Me and my family will be regulars for sure :)

We tried first when opebed and gave poor rating. Tried 1-1/2 months later, not any improvement. Food terrible, service clueless about products they represented. Save your money. We wont be back. We dine out 2-3 X week and know difference between good, great and awful. This was the later.

Best Italian food around. If you dont think so you are crazy. Ive never found a place that has so many amazing options. Saul knows how to make you feel at home. You can tell he loves what he does by the food that comes out. You have my word you wont regret stopping by.

First time and would definitely recommend this place. Excellent food from the bruschetta to my eggplant parmigiana. The mister also tried the baked clams and said they were delicious as was his chicken parmigiana. Amazing staff from the front of the house to the back!

I absolutely love this place! The food is amazing, the people are friendly, and it out of the way enough to feel like a McHenry hidden treasure. I simply can not recommend eating here enough. Bring your appetite, the food is wonderful and theres plenty to be had.

I came here with family for my birthday and it was not very good. The others loved their meals but the marinara sauce really bland and tasted like plain canned tomatoes. My beef was good tasting but had lots of gristle and was dried out.
