Bangkok Thai was the absolute WORST restaurant (not only Thai) food that Ive ever been to, not only the food but especially the service by the owner and waitress. First, it took 30 minutes to get waited on, and there were only 2 people in the restaurant. Second, I told the waitress up front that my son was allergic to nuts and fish. I asked her if any of the food we ordered (Chicken Pad Thai or Sweet and Sour Chicken) had any of these ingredients, and she said no. We told her we had a Groupon, and she said we could use it as long as we ordered off the dinner menu.. Well my son began by eating some of the sweet n sour chicken, which had almost no chicken at all. Maybe about 6 pieces of small inch sized chicken for a $10 entree...very very sparse. You get far more at other Thai and Chinese restaurants for less money. Then the Chicken Pad Thai arrived. I am lucky that I took a bite first. It reeked of a strong fish smell but I took a bite to make sure . There was definitely fish in it. I got the waitresses attention, who in a very grumpy manner came to our table. I asked her why she told me there was no fish when there was clearly fish. I told her my son could have gotten very sick or died if he ate it. She walked away very rudely and came back 5 minutes later. She then said it has fish sauce made from fish. I told her that they need to remake this dish or give us another dish with no fish. She then went back to the owner and they said they would refuse to remake the dish unless I paid for another entree. I was completely disgusted. Well these cheapos not only lost a great customer who eats out 2-3X a week both on business and with family, but I will make sure that I tell every website and friend I know to never visit this low class establishment again. I do feel that they would have treated me the same regardless of whether I had a coupon or not. And that shouldnt matter either way. To make a potentially life threatening mistake that could have killed my son, and not to apologize or make it right by giving us another dish and expecting us to pay for their mistake is completely outrageous.

When my hubby and I moved to the area a year ago, we knew we would miss our old Thai/Sushi Restaurant in Chicago, but thats no longer an issue. Last night we popped into Bangkok after work, and we were absolutely delighted from the moment we walked in. The open layout and very tasteful decor reflect the owners desire to please. Our server Tony, who seemed to be wearing a lot of hats, was extremely attentive and knowledgeable about the ingredients, and helped me make an excellent choice for my entree. We shared the Sashimi Deluxe which was excellent, as were the different sauces that came with it. The only fish on the platter we didnt care for was the red snapper. You cant go wrong with their Chicken Satay, but we thought their Summer Rolls (otherwise known to us as spring rolls) were a bit sticky. Next time we will probably order their Spring Rolls which they actually deep fry. My husband loved his Pad Thai with chicken, which is what I always used to order also, but everything on the menu sounded so delectable that I had a difficult time deciding. I finally settled on the Raman Noodles with beef (nothing at all like the 10 cent packages at Jewel LOL). It was outstanding, and Im afraid I will never be able to try another thing on the menu because I will want it every time! We are so happy to have found this place, and hope it will be around as long as we are! And we will definitely be telling our baby boomer friends in Del Webb!

We went there last night. First of all, this is the only place I know where you can get tom yam soup and great sushi at the same time. I have been to many sushi places both here and in Japan. I would have to consider Sushi Kushi Toyo in Lake Forest as the best place to go in Chicago area, but if you live out in the northwest suburbs and do not feel like driving all that much, this is the place to visit. What surprised us was that the sushi rolls contained very large amounts of fish. What a great concept! One thing I did not enjoy was the fact that all tables are in one room, which would not bother me much if not for the fact that they have two large screen TVs on two walls (showing live sports), so it may not be the perfect place for a romantic dinner. The food showed up pretty quickly and the staff was very friendly.

we had 2 hrs before our movie started, so after we set down the server told us that they are not serving Thai food and because of that sushi would take about 45 mins. There were about 4 other tables in the restaurant, so I dont know why it would take so long, but we said OK anyways. We ordered an appetizer and our dinner right away, after 15 mins and no appetizer, I went up to the server and told her that she can cancel our sushi order and well just take the appetizer. After that the sushi chef came up to us and said that our whole order will be out in about 15-20 more mins so we said wed stay. After 20 more mins our server came up to us and told us that the chef hasnt even started on our appetizer and that she quit. So we just got up and left.

I almost gave up on this place. It was getting worse every time I went in. The food was always different... in a bad way. The sushi was made wrong and put together sloppy. The place was just filthy dirty. The blinds had months of dust on them. The ceilings had spider webs hanging from them. Everything was sticky and gross. I saw it was under new ownership so I went in and ordered my regular sushi rolls. The place was clean and the food was great. The new owners are so very nice and friendly. The service is great!! I will definitely be returning now that some one who knows how to run a restaurant bought the place.

The Crystal Lake restaurant Kyoto lost our reservations on Valentines day so we went here instead. Best choice ever. The waitress was excellent and very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and it wasnt horribly crowded so it was a lot more relaxing probably than going to any other restaurant in the area on Valentines Day. Their rama tofu was excellent. Could have done with a little more spice, but Im assuming that most of the thai food there is downed for the general public who arent used to that spicy of food. I absolutely loved the avacado rolls and I usually dont like sushi with any seaweed.

My wife and I went here for our anniversary and it was excellent! Dont be scared away by its somewhat odd placement in the midst of a little strip mall. The service was very attentive and they had excellent timing in delivering the appetizers and then the sushi. Dumplings or wontons (cant remember precisely, its been a month) were delicious appetizers. For our actual meal we had their algonquin roll and a tuna roll and both were excellent. This was my third attempt at sushi with the previous two not being all that enjoyable. This was by far the best experience and I highly recommend it.
