Disclaimer: I am a total ramen noob and have no clue what good ramen should be or taste like, so take this as a review from a "first experience" perspective. Overall, I really liked this place. We got seated right away, and our server was really friendly and helpful. She gladly answered all my ramen noob questions and helped me decide on what to get. I ordered the brussel sprouts and the spicy tonkatsu ramen. The brussel sprouts were amazing. Some of the best Ive ever had. They were fried and had a richness to them that was hard to describe. The flavor kind of reminded me of fried wontons with well seasoned vegetables. I really enjoyed the ramen as well. The spice level was exactly where I thought it should be, and all the ingredients seemed fresh and flavorful. The broth didnt seem too fatty or oily, and the pork belly was perfectly tender. I definitely plan on coming back here. The thought of sitting in this shop eating a nice big bowl of ramen during a harsh Chicago winter has my mouth already watering.

This was not the best ramen Ive had in the Chicago ramen, but it was pretty good. I enjoyed their broths (the spicy miso and tonkatsu), but their noodles are oddly dry (moisture resistant?) despite sitting in the broth. Their presentation is really pretty. Their service, however, was bizarre. When I was there, there were two servers with only 4 tables occupied. First, the table we were seated at was not clean (they came by to clean it up when we sat down). We were asked what we wanted right away (upon being seated), and when we asked for more time, we waited 10 minutes for the server to come back. Servers would come back every 15 minutes (both servers back to back) to ask us if we needed anything/how we were doing when they could have spaced their service out more between the two of them. Similarly, we waited about 10 minutes when we were finished eating for a server to get us the check.

Yes! The noodles were NOT undercooked - We were skeptical when yet another ramen shop opens around Chicago. We were hesitant to try until we read one of the reviewers said that he felt the noodles were "undercooked." Funny enough, what the reviewer obviously meant to be a negative point actually gave us hope. Any half-way decent ramen connoisseur knows that the noodles are one of the most important part of a good bowl of ramen. Just like how Italian pasta should be "al dente," ramen noodles should have "bite," and a springy texture. Dont get me wrong, I can think of a few other places in the Chicagoland area thats better, but this place is not too far down the list.

A huge fan of this place. I was upset when Lulus Noodle Shop closed down the street, because they actually had an excellent ramen dish. However, when my mind was completely changed when they opened Table To Stix. Their ramen is top notch and much like the fancy ramen shops you would see down in the Loop. Their pork cha shu is excellently prepared and basically melts in your mouth. The broth they use is very meaty and goes in with the noodles very well. I give this place a perfect five our of five because you really cant beat the value that this place provides. Extra points for the kiddie cocktail, for making it good lol.

While I came here on the back of rave reviews, my experience was quite mixed. If youve frequented other ramen restaurants, youll know that the food here is simply average. Good, but average. However, the menu is priced far higher than what you would expect for the cuisine and experience. While the decor is nice, it certainly does not justify this higher price point. Additionally, it is worth pointing out that upon reviewing my credit card statement, I noticed that I was double charged for my meal here. Ill give them the benefit of the doubt on it being an honest mistake, but this is certainly something to keep in mind.

They have only four options for the ramen, and I wouldve wanted more option for miso base other than just veggie and spicy miso. To add any toppings like project belly was 2 bucks and to add nori was a dollar extra. Which doesnt help with the fact that it was not the cheapest thing to start with as well. The service was good no complains on that side, and when the food finally came out it was good, just not good enough to drain the back for.

We wanted to like this place since Evanston could use a good ramen shop but honestly, it wasnt the best ramen weve had. The ramen was just okay. Nothing amazing. The noodles were fine but nothing to write home about either. Trust me, I really was hoping this place would be great. That said, it was nicely decorated inside and the prices seemed in line with other restaurants. Come winter, we might try it again.

I ordered the spicy miso ramen with a side of kimchi, and it did not disappoint! The portions were generous, as you would expect. The atmosphere was inviting, the service was fast and friendly, and we didnt have to wait very long for our food. Whether you are trying real Ramen for the first time, or you are a seasoned Ramen die hard, I think that you will enjoy this place. Its a new local favorite for me!

Had the tonkotsu ramen. It was good and tasted fresh. But the broth lacked that umami flavor that would really set it apart and make it great. The pork was quite good though. If you live in or near Evanston and are craving ramen but dont want to travel into the city or the Arlington Heights area this is a good place to go. Id go back here for sure but theres better ramen.

The restaurant has Japanese style but feels like where college student goes to eat. They have small table but enough to fill 4 people. Noodle and appetizer taste like authentic Japanese food. When the noodle is made/ready to serve the chef calls waitress in Japanese. With Takeout Avaliability this place is very good for lunch / dinner

Id consider this 3 3/4 stars. Its great ramen, especially the tonkotsu broth, and a nice atmosphere. Maybe a little pricey for Evanston (or even Chicago) but considering there is no better ramen joint in town, thats a premium Im willing to pay. Conveniently located, helpful service and cozy high-top tables.

Excellent ramen -- some of the best Ive ever tasted. The Tonkotsu ramen is my favorite, but the others are good too. Atmosphere is excellent -- very modern and pleasant. Prices are high, though -- around $13 for a (pretty large) bowl of ramen, plus tax and tips. Still, its worth it for a special treat.

Loved this place! Ive been to a few of the popular, big named ramen places downtown and I personally enjoyed the food here more. The Spicy Miso Ramen was probably one of my favorite meals Ive ever had in downtown Evanston (and I eat out a lot). I highly recommend this place!
