Ironic that the BEST coffee shop in Evanston is hidden in the midst of North Campus! all of us South Campus-ers have been longing for a calm, bright, indepedently-owned place to chill for AGES. Unicorn too crowded and stuck up for you? Try Coffee Lab. Starbucks too corporate (slash also REALLY small and oddly foul-smelling) for you? Try Coffee Lab. Cafe Mozart too lonely (nobodys ever there) slash I-dont-think-they-had-fake-leopard-print-couches-back-in-Mozarts-day for you? Try Coffee Lab. This place is what Other Brother could be if it actually had tables. Now if they would just have late-night hours...

Baristas are knowledgeable about their products, the quality of the drinks and food is excellent, and there is a very relaxed and hospitable vibe about the place. Also am very impressed with the socially conscious aspect - all cups and containers are 100% biodegradable, the coffee is all fair trade, and a portion of the food proceeds goes to support people in need. Whenever I can, I try to set up small meetings and one-on-ones there because I know that everyone will be pleased. Always enjoy it!

The most amazing coffee shop on the north side. Recently expanded with food and much more seating! Always a delight, and the baristas are some of the friendliest people in Evanston. Not the mention the coffee is amazing! Try the chai tea latte or the caramel apple cider if youre not in the mood for coffee. If youre looking for a bite to eat, the quiche is fantastic, and the honey bread w toppings is life-changing.

Drinks: 4 Decor: 3 Service: 4 I came here with my gf since she needed to get her daily coffee. She got me a large hot chocolate with a little bit of whipped cream, and it was one of the better hot chocolates Ive gotten. You could taste the chocolate, and it didnt taste watered down. I had a sip of her Diablo Dark, and it was very intense.

If youve given up and settled for Starbucks, Coffee Lab will be a revelation. Their hand-poured process may initially seem a bit precious, but the results are worth it. Friendly staff and a comfortable atmosphere complete the picture. If youre looking for a delicious cup of coffee - not just quick hot brown caffeine - this is it.

I go to Coffee Lab somewhat frequently. The cold brew is great, and so is the turkey sandwich. I enjoy the atmosphere but sometimes they play their music too loud, which can make it very difficult to concentrate. Other than that, they have a friendly staff and seem to be fairly well run.

Honestly, I stopped going anywhere else ever since I found Coffee Lab. The coffee is made to order since its all done through a pour over vs the other places that have the coffee already made and sitting around. The staff is great and very friendly too.

Great little coffee shop, with plenty of seating and fast wi-fi. Lots of great snacks, and overall reasonable prices. Employees are all very friendly. Very popular among Northwestern students, so beware it may be hard to get a seat at times.

My go-to spot in Evanston. Its often quite full with college students, but still good as someone outside that community nonetheless. The people who work there are great, and their coffee is fantastic.

The sandwiches here are very affordable and also very delicious! You dont get a lot of extras, (no pickle or chips) but for $4, Ill take it! Havent had the coffee ironically but Ive heard it is good!
