First impression of the place was it was an older establishment that could use a good remodeling. People working were very polite and welcoming. They made sure all questions were answered as well as their pricing is confusing with add on costs for certain things. Pros: Flavor of the Jerk chicken was amazing and on point for what I expected. Portions of the chicken were very generous. Rib tip portions were good for the price. The jalapeño hush puppies were decent in size and had good flavor. Cons: The cost is a bit expensive for the portion size on the beef and pork products. Brisket was dry and lacked good flavor and seemed to be reheated. Burnt ends were also lacking in the flavor department as well, which I didnt expect from a bbq establishment. Seemed all the food could have used more smoking time to ensure that smokey taste and proper cooking temperature. The traditional bbq sauce was not very good as it tasted like red pickle juice. The sides seemed premade and werent very good as the potatoes and mac & cheese lacked flavor. The key to this place is most of their foods lack flavor If you havent noticed the theme. Overall if youre looking for a quick local bbq joint Id recommend it for the Jerk Chicken. For overall quality Id say its okay at best and theres much better bbq places out there.

My fiancé and i were very excited to try this place with these reviews. It smelled great and didnt look bad. I had the brisket it had no flavor and it was dry almost like jerky. The smoke was nice but it needed a lot of sauce to make it have flavor. My fiancé got brisket and beef tips. Both were so dry that he couldnt eat most of it. I got the mac and cheese which was super salty and the corn bread was also so dry no amount of butter could save them. Overall super disappointed and will not by back. The only positive was that it was quick service.

I ordered the pulled pork with cornbread and mac and cheese last night. The pulled pork was a great generous portion and it was delicious! It only came with 1 jalapeno hush puppy. They only give you 1 small container of sauce and it costs more for extra. I got the traditional sauce and it was pretty good. The cornbread was great but they do charge extra for it which is strange. The mac and cheese is a little spicy and the flavor is okay but not worth the extra charge. Overall, great service, good prices, good flavors.

Best BBQ within a half-hour drive, hands down. I come here all the time. Their chicken sandwich comes standard with bacon, and its tenderized. I love the burger, its charred just a little bit like you would get on your backyard grill. The ribs are fine, pulled pork is excellent, and the brisket I had was actually very good, juicy. I also love the coleslaw with jalapeño - not too hot. The mango habanero sauce they have is way too hot for me but tasted very good. Their mild is plenty spicy as it is.

Went there for the first time tonight. Kept hearing good things about it. We both got the brisket. Was very tough, fatty & thick and our food was cold. No flavor what so ever. My mac & cheese was cold and to charge us an extra $0.99 for it was ridiculous, wasnt even good. All you get is a small little spoonful. Didnt have any flavor. Way too overpriced, what a shame. Needless to say we will probably never go back. Its unfortunate, was looking forward to it.

I have been to this place twice within the past two weeks. Two weeks ago I ordered the rib tip/hot link combo. Tips were very dry, and The hot links were like a hot dog had "kick" to them at all! I called and complained to the manager and he sent me a $25.00 gift certificate. A week later I go and order a half slab of ribs, the same thing happened not good at all! Ill never return here again and if people ask me about this place Ill advise dont go there.

We got 2 full racks of ribs, 1 sauced and 1 rubbed, and they were both very dry and tough. Parts of them we couldnt eat which is unacceptable considering how expensive they are. The hamburger sliders were good. We had high expectations because of all the good reviews so maybe well give it another chance but we already wasted a good amount of money here so I dont know if we will.

Whole family walked out full and happy! Husband loved his beef brisket meal, my pulled pork was really tasty, and the kids menu pleased the little guys. The variety of sauces is another bonus. Only heads up, two coleslaw choices are jalapeño and pineapple and both have a kick. Dont be fooled into thinking pineapple is a sweet slaw. It is actually more spicy than the jalapeño!

I just tired to order well over $50 of food and the gal on the phone was a train wreck. Not paying attention, having another conversation about "Carlos" and I had to keep repeating myself. I canceled it. Just a joke. Updated 8/27/16 well I gave it another chance and again a waste.... There is a great chance they have 6 year olds answering the phones, unprofessional and rude...

Ate there tonight because of the great reviews. I have to say you would be hard pressed to find a better pulled pork sandwich. But my wife had the ribs, I wished she would of sent them back. They were very overcooked or maybe left overs from the day before. Both coleslaws had a bit of heat to them and the potato salad was just OK. For $40 I expected at least better quality.

Didnt have delivery on a Friday night when it was advertised. Pulled pork was pretty dry, burnt ends were good and less fatty than we thought. Someone else said it best that all the sides tasted like reheated leftovers. Dry cornbread and stale fries. Cute little place, Im just not sure what people were raving about.

We stop in fairly regularly for lunch or dinner and have tried most of the menu. I havent had anything I didnt like. The bbq brisket tacos are fantastic and the bbq cheddar bacon burger are another fave (can also get with chicken, which is good, too) Weve catered a party from them and that was good as well.

Food was amazing, prices were great, people were super friendly. Not very fancy to eat-in, but still very nice. Will tell everyone about it and will go over and over again. Parking is limited and street is divided from other side, so if unsure about this part of Elgin, be patient. Well worth the wait.

I had the wings and briskets tacos with hush puppies and corn bread. Thw wings were well cooked and the mild BBQ sauce was tasty. Portion size are very large. The brisket is tender and moist. The only bad thing was my sides. The cornbread was super dry and the hush puppies were not testy and just a bad.

I thought the food was fantastic. Went there two days in a row. However, the girl working yhe register both days was very rude. Not only to me but the other employees. Also, I purchased the same thing on both days and was charged two different amounts. 8 out of 10 would annoy employee for food again.
