This continues to be one of my favorite "Sunday morning after worship" places to grab a bite and enjoy the start of a great day. The place isnt fancy, but the food is really good! Southsiders of every stripe come here and enjoy a good meal. You might see an Alderman, a Deacon, the mailman, or a shoe-shine guy, all enjoying their meal in the same restaurant. Its very simple in aesthetic, but a nice place to grab a bite. Street parking is readily available. Accessible by bus.

It was my first time at Three Chefs, Although its not the prettiest location; I was Amazed with the CUSTOMER SERVICE, THE QUALITY OF FOOD AND THE AFFORDABILITY. THE SWEET POTATO PANCAKES WERE FLUFFY AND WELL BALANCED WITH SWEETNESS, THE CATFISH WAS FRESH, WELL SEASONED AND PERFECTLY COOKED! SERVICE WAS FAST AND DONE PROPERLY. IM PROUD THAT THIS RESTURANT IS BLACK OWNED AND IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD! I will be back and YOU SHOULD GIVE IT A SHOT, YOU WILL BE HAPPY YOU DID!

The customer service was horrible, I waited a hour for some nasty pancake. While I was waiting me and my husband was observing the place and he work for the city inspection company. He is very surprised this place is open. The inside needed some work done. The worker did not have on hair and the cook did not have gloves. The all of working guys pants was swagging. I support all black Owen business but I would never support this business again.

The best gumbo in Chicago. Period. Better than Heaven on Seven. Better than Shaws. Best Ive had outside of Nawlins. Stuffed catfish with crawfish sauce is amazing and enough to feed three people. Stuffed (sense a trend here?) sweet potato pancakes are unique and delicious. Homemade strawberry lemonade is very refreshing. Go early and/or order in advance because they run out of stuff and close early when they are out food.

This is an old picture. The restaurant has been re-opened and transformed into a bright new spot. 2 of us ate there 3/20 and were very pleased. My spouse had gumbo; I had a catfish fillet with a shrimp sauce. Both very tasty, especially the gumbo. Service was prompt and courteous. Well go back again.

Today was going to be my first experience dining here at this 4 star soul food establishment and i was turned away because they ran out of food. The explanation was, the individual who orders the food has been out sick for a week. Humm not so 4star to me. Sunday August 14th 2016.

A hidden gem in the most unlikely place!! I always receive great service when I come here. Until recently I only got the salmon croquettes with fried green tomatoes and grits but lately I have started to explore the menu and I can honestly say I have not been disappointed!!!

One of the best breakfast/lunch places on the south side of Chicago. Great chef, staff and owners, always a treat coming here. Great selection of dishes on the menu, none stands above the other, you just have to go with your favorite food for that.

Very pleasant staff, the food is to die for but they are very slow on the carry out. Theyve also been closed the last few days and were bit very pleased with that. Otherwise, its all good...fried green tomatoes, gumbo, smothered potatoes...yum!

Must go the place is packed but worth the wait. I ordered food to go. Got home and it was cooked just right. Great chef they are closed for three days me and my husband cant wait for them to open back up we wanted to go back the next day

Great food! Its small definitely not fancy and you may have to wait for a table if dining in. Food is cooked to order so if you are in a hurry this is not the place for you. However, the food is well worth the wait. So very delicious!!

I love their chicken & waffles, I know it may sound common, but their chicken wings are good & their waffles & Im only a fan of waffles with chocolate chips(lol). Everything on their menu makes it hard to choose what you want to eat.

Wow! What a delite to have great tasting home made southern gumbo. We first stoped by on Sunday and had breakfast. My entire family was greated with great service and the best tasting waffles you ever had. Must go for yourself !

Great gumbo and the staff is friendly! Daily creations make this a true home kitchen. Think you coming for one thing and end up getting something delicious thats not even on the menu. My go to when back in Chicago!
