Punjabi Dhaba - i have been to many other Punjabi Dhabas across India - Usually they are known for their authentic taste and perfection. The place in Devon Avenue is totally a different story. :) I entered in with surprise to see an empty hall with only chairs arranged awaiting for people . (though it was a peak time around 1:30 PM) They have range of veg gravy and chicken gravy. But are they good? Tried Veg - and a Big NO ! i wondered if they were prepared 2 days back ,got reheated and just presented. The food lacked that authentic taste from usual Punjabi Dhaba or even any other Indian restaurant. The Naan was just average - (not sure if even the dough that was used was fresh ) The starter option of samosa was just average . The veg rice must have been reheated too as clearly we could see the long rice were dried and we see that only when re-heating cooked rice multiple times. :( The mutter panneer , veg masala , and other veg gravies were below average. Verdict: If you just want to fill your hunger with re- heated food stuffs - walk here and price for it is 10$ . Else if you are food lover please walk in some other restaurants ( where it is crowded :) )

Great value for a buffet. Decent selection and food was very good. The tandoori chicken they bring to the table had to be the best Ive ever had in my life - absolutely superb on that! Overall I am still more of a fan of the Indian place back home in Morgantown WV. Ive had plenty of Indian food here and while Indian food is always delicious, Mother India just has yall beat. Something about their family home cooking makes me miss it back home. Getting Indian in Chicago is just a replacement. But the food here really is good and worth it of youre looking for an affordable buffet. Its about $10-11 a person, so totally worth getting your Indian fix here. And you cant beat that tandoori chicken!

We went to this restaurant for Lunch. We were very excited since it was nice summer day & thought it will be very nice food to enjoy. But it was disaster. Service was very poor, food ordered was not as per recipe. At the end we ordered Mango malai kulfi, thought it will be nicer, but that was also full of ICE. While making payment, we were charged more than the menu price & after we had to talk to them to get corrected bill. Sorry, but will never see this restaurant nor will advise anyone to go there.

We stopped by for the dinner buffet and Ill start off by saying that the service was great and because of that we left good tip. The price was also fair for a buffet. But the food was not that good and we wont be going back. The rice was hard from being out for so long and some of the food was cold for the same reason. The nan was good but besides that we did not like anything else very much. The butter chicken tasted like watered down tomato soup with some lemon. But the server was very friendly!

It was a fine day for us but it was spoiled after we chose to have a lunch at this place. The waiter made us so uncomfortable when he was becoming over-friendly to us as we were just two girls. He asked name, phone number and added that he is a nice man and interested to stay in touch. He was little above middle age. The manager seemed to be as same as him so we felt no point in complaining him. We left place with the very bad mood. Avoid this restaurant if you can.

Food was okay as compared to other places in Devon. Now there are not many good Indian restaurants in Devon, more of pakistani. Ive there twice for dinner buffet only...I could have given 4 starts, but in the end the owner charged me 3 dollars tip on my bill, didnt even take my concern. For that reason I wont call him good, giving 3 starts only for the food. This was rude. Also he did not calculate the taxes, just charged me a lump sump amount. may not got again.

This is my go to spot on Devon. I love it. Its the only place I know of that is a buffet for lunch and dinner. The decor is outdated for sure, but so is my mothers kitchen, but the food is good! Now maybe something changed with the cook or something - I was there at the beginning of March and all was well. Ill have to go back because from the other reviews it sounds like something changed. It was great when I went. - peace.

Worst food i ever had. Tandoori chicken only has red color to it; no flavors. Butter chicken, daal makhani, mutter paneer all of this was yucky. Gulab jamun as one customer mention is hard as rock. Customer service is very unfriendly. I would really recommend closing this restaurant down, as this restaurant is making fun of the name "Punjabi dhabha"; especially punjabi food is supposed to be delicious.

Got delivery and have to say was disappointed. 1st time ordering here and they didnt ask if we wanted rice; we got our entrees without rice and had to make our own at home. I ordered chicken curry and got curry with a couple of chicken wings in there. It was seriously pretty sad. I wouldnt order from here again. We got a salad and all it had was iceberg lettuce and a couple of cucumbers.

Cant understand the negative reviews on this place. Youll be hard-pressed to find another Indian restaurant that offers a dinner buffet seven days per week. Thats on top of their lunch buffet, which is also seven days per week. The naan was soft and buttery, and the tandoori chicken was juicy and tender. I will definitely return.

I went with two of my friends, faced a worst experience. Both the manager and waiter provided us a unforgettable dinner with bad hospitality. They gave such a worm welcome to ever one else other than us. I was thinking because we were the only indians they didnt respect us. I personally wont recommend any indians to try this.

Please dont go. Been here twice. Everything was like 2 days old food. Chicken tandoori was overcooked, burnt and tasteless. Briyani was under cooked and rice was burnt. Only thing edible here is water. Chicken was very greasy. Service was bad and they expect a tip. This is one of the worst restaurants I have ever been to.

This was the worst food I have ever had in my life!!! Punjabi Dhaba doesnt even deserve 1 star which is what I intended on going but I couldnt post my review without placing at least 1 star. Now besides the food the service here is horrible as well. You can rest assure that I will never be returning back to this place.

They serve meat on the bone....Its lazily made food. The Garlic Naan was not even passable, and for 3.00, you get one piece? We received no rice with our meal, despite the amount we paid. This was just a a terrible excuse for Indian food. Not to mention a $7.00 delivery charge. FOR WHAT? Mediocrity, thats what.
