Yummy! Freshly baked artisan bread is always a treat to find in the area. The deserts are particularly tasty and very well executed. The Paris Brest was beautifully baked with a crispy puff pastry and perfectly balanced hazelnut creme. The watermelon, lemon curd tart was perfectly, tart. It was refreshing, a perfect way to end a heavy meal. The double chocolate tart was rich and smooth, leaving you wanting more and more. You can use your belly card here so rack up as many points as you can to score freebies :) Such quality comes at a pretty price, but if youre looking to celebrate an occasion or willing to indulge yourself a little, you cant go wrong with the breads and pastry here.

They have a small wall of fresh baked bread that looks amazing and is really affordable. They also offer sandwiches, and a ton of french pastries including macaroons, crepes and croissants. I am obsessed with bignets and I finally got a chance to try one of their Crognets after almost a year and I was disappointed. I did eat it all quite quickly haha, but it was just not my thing. I had chocolate glazed with raspberry filling. The raspberry was delicious but the chocolate flavor was non existent. For over $5 I wont be back for a Crognets, but I will be back to try some other things!

We walked by this bakery while exploring Lake View and the array of macarons caught my eye. And it was the right decision to check this lovely, intimate bakery out. The macarons are reasonable priced at less than$2.50 each and are one of the best Ive tasted. They are the right amount of moist and cake-y. Ive had many dry, overpriced macarons at events and therefore were pleasantly surprised by our accidental find. I had the passion fruit and pistachio. Im dreaming of going back and getting more in the near future.

I walked by this cafe for a long time before finally going in. The coffee, the ambiance, the aromas, the pastries, the bread, the macaroons, the staff, the customers...everything about La Boulangerie is inviting and warm with an obvious European feel. My favorites are the almond croissants and the salted caramel macaroons.

This place was the most beautiful french bakery i have ever been to! They have the best crepes of all time. The staff was very friendly and pleasurable. The whole place made you feel at home and feel safe. Great place to check out when you are in Chicago. I will defiantly be going back to this cafe next time Im in Chicago.

Store says it opens at 8. Showed up at 8:10 door still locked. I called to see when they were opening and the girl said she is there by herself and too busy, so she will open at 9:30 maybe. I just walked 15 minutes to get there. Not real happy with the lack of customer service and care. They will never see me again.

Blossoms Anytime

Delightfully light Macaroons that melt in your mouth with rich and bold flavors. The macaroon flavor choices range from unique to the traditional. The chocolate croissants are light and flaky and the bold dark chocolate in the center add to the rich buttery flavor. Yum! see you soon when I am back.

As a French I can tell you that this is far from the standard baguette or bread you can buy in France. The bread is chewy, not cooked enough, not crispy ... maybe accustomed to American taste. The "Pain au Chocolat" or "Croissant Chocolat" here is big but just ok. This is mostly a snack place.

Best bread and sammaches on the north side. There is or was only one person at the counter on a Saturday which kept service slow... Buuut its worth it. Croissants and breads are outstanding if you cant get them at the farmers market during the summer, might wanna drop by...

Amazing sandwiches and delicious pastries and desserts. The service a little rude and too busy talking to customer before me and took 5 minutes to acknowledge me. Also forgot to make my drink. A few more minutes I would of walked out.

Cute French cafe. Great pastries, especially the macaroons. Pass on the coffee. The bathroom isnt available to customers so your time hanging may be limited. They are only a handful of seats so this isnt good for groups.

Holy wow! Classic breakfast sandwich on Ciabatta. Eggs, bacon, Swiss. I add avocado, mixed field greens, & chipotle mayo. Slow but worth it. Much faster that food if youre actually in France, lol.
