Fantastic food, service and ambiance! On a cold afternoon in Old Town stumbled in for a late lunch. After much deliberation (and patience from behind the counter) I ordered the savory crepe of the day. The crepe was perfect - hot crepe filled with egg, cheese, onion, tomato, bacon and ham!! Would definitely come back to try a sweet crepe next time. In case you like to know more about your coffee, I learned that they brew Intelligentsia coffee.

Went there for croissants, found 3 trays with a fly walking over them. I told them about it, they swiped it off, but no attempt at removing the pastries. There was nothing else available at the time (around 5 30pm on a Monday) and I didnt want to eat fly croissant, so I left. They were out of bread too which I guess means they have good bread. Bottom line: dont go there in the afternoon, catch the pastries early before the flies get them.

A very cute French bakery! Great service from employees who were really professional! Loved the savory things our group shared and the chocolate croissants were delish! But many of the sweets werent up to the same level. The macarons, and this reeeeally pains me to say, were just average compared to macarons offered by other shops in the city. Will definitely stop by in the future whenever Im in the area!

When you step into the bakery you feel like youve been transported to a little street bakery in Paris as owner, Michele, greets you with a warm "Bonjour!". Everything is delicious but my fave is the croque monsieur. Their fruit cup is delicious and you cant leave without trying a macaron. Definitely try the Linzer - you dont see these anywhere else in the city. The service is fantastic as well.

Fantastic bakery in Old Town. I havent had lunch here, but Ive stopped in for baguettes and pastries a few times. Quality is great and the chocolate croissants are delicious. I love that greetings are in french and that for a brief moment, it feels like youre in France. Some evenings near closing time, they have a "buy 1 pastry, get 1 free" offer. Look for a small sign in the window.

Love this bakery and the folks that own it. Chef Pierre Zimmerman is a master and has created a great bakery in Chicago. Every time we go to Chicago (have a daughter that lives there) we get up early to go to La Fournette for fresh baguettes and croissants. Killer almond croissants and everything else for that matter. Highly recommend this establishment. Top notch!

Stopped by there today to try their macarons in a variety of flavors. Ordered a half dozen, and 5 out of 6 were good or great, their chocolate one was particularly good. However, one macaron, the mango one, was totally overcooked, and was crunchy the whole way through, having the consistency of a nilla wafer, which is all wrong for a macaron.

Its a French bakery, i.e., if you cant get there in the morning, go another day! Top quality fresh bread, pastry to die for and the macarons (macaroons are different) are crunch, then melt in your mouth sublime. No wonder this place is popular and well rated! Very much a consumer, not a business partner, I, just love this place

Food: - Ham and cheese croissant - very good mix of flavors, and nice flaky croissant; they put it in the oven to heat it up before serving it - Chocolate pound cake - really dense and chocolatey Ambiance: - a few seat at the front (cute atmosphere), and some in the back. The woman who helped us was really nice.

Authentic French bakery in the heart of Old Town; great selection of coffees, breads, crepes, pastries, including flaky croissants and great macrons and made-from-scratch breads and chocolate hazelnut spread; friendly service from the French staff; small patio on the sidewalk for outdoor seating

I like French so i needed to try this cafe. The croissants are perfect. The beignets are excellent. The service unfortunately is not as good. The guy server behind the counter that day seem very impatient (with folded arms and not smiling at all).

La Fournette is a quick place to grab a bite and feels very french. My favorite thing is the origin of the name (read one of the little signs to figure it out for yourself) and that they give you little beignets with your coffee!

There is nothing like this place in Chicago! If you are a fan of French baking, you have to try this place. The people that are behind it are from Strasbourg. The macarons are great! I love the Almond croissant... my favorite!

If you are looking for authentic French sandwiches and pastries, this is the real deal! Its not cheap but well worth the price. If you are looking for a bargain, theres a McDonalds a couple doors down.

La Fournette is a cute bakery with excellent food. My favorite thing is the Macaroons especially the Vanilla and the Raspberry. Their hot foods like the Ham and Cheese Croissant are really good too!

Amazing French bakery, the croissants are phenomenal, the rest is just as delicious and some of the staff speaks French. This is the place to go if youre anywhere near old town.

It is a nice little bakery in the heart of old town. I ordered a variety of macaroons. I liked most of them, but some of them left a lot to be desired because they were stale.

Tasty quiche! Cute atmosphere with lots of options! Would love to try a bacon epi if they ever make one, good to know Old Town isnt completely devoid of culture and taste!

The miche is some of the best bread Ive ever tasted. Crusty exterior, spongy interior, delicious sourdough smell but a bit lighter in the flavor. I could eat it every day.

Very cute place reminds me of the time I spent in France. Limited selection of stuff for a patisserie but the French onion was good and the macaroons were great!
