First The Manager was pacing back and forth like a brightly bedazzled piranha. Belittling staff within earshot of customers about petty issues like putting away a box of wine. Next... the "Beer Menue" 60% of the beer selection was unavailable! This quickly became a Brau Haus with 5 to 6 stouts, a Kolsch, and a red ipa... The beer Menue at this place takes up the size of your Palm on a good day.... and half of that is unavailable. This is by far the worst place to go... the despicable food using such worse as "SLAB" in their description is readily available. The "Carmalized" onions will be lacking and only slightly seared. The bread will crumble due to its ignored expiration date. This place will continue to amaze you with its utter mediocrity. I will further note that this is all due to the management. Sadly... Im gonna go all nostradaumous on you and predict you will fail... You suck at customer service. I dare anyone reading this to go there and have a good time....

I called Saturday afternoon to make reservations, but the lady who took my call said to call back in 2 hours because she had to wait for the manager to see if she could make the reservation. I called back later and she said she couldnt because they had already committed to multiple reservations. She told me I could just come to the restaurant though as a walk-in. So we go there the next day and the concierge tells us the wait is an hour. Which was fine. There was a nice band playing, no problem. Then an hour later she comes and tells me that we have to wait 2 hours. Why? Because she misjudged customers coming and leaving. Total waste of my time and my guests time. Really bad for business! They need some type of process or system with reservations. Please implement something. Wont be going there ever again. Went to Baroccos instead and had a great time.

Orderd the Smothered Goat Cheese appetizer. The online menu indicates it is served with garlic french bread. I believe my menu indicated a garlic parmesan crostini. It was served with neither. Ours came with stale bread. Not toasted, not garlic, just stale. When our waitress asked how it was we politely informed her of our disappointment. She said sorry and walked away. My friend ordered the Pulled Pork sandwich and she said it was delicious. I ordered the steak salad and it was good, especially the toasted goat cheese. The basalmic dressing was served on the side in a tiny cup and had separated. There was no good way to recombine so I made do. Maybe it was the night (Monday), I will try it again and hope for better results.

I had a short business meeting over drinks here. I didnt get a chance to try the food, but my friends that were there loved it. Its a cute little spot! Reminds me of Revolution up north. My friends tried the beer sampler and enjoyed pairing that with some appetizers. They had a local art show going on with live music. I was impressed that they were able to perform and yet you could hear the folks at your table talk. It was packed for a Tuesday night, but there was comfortable seating. I really liked how spread out we were. Most joints on Western pack you in like sardines. I ran into several friends while out and it seems to be a popular place. Check it out!

William Manahan was, by far, provided the greatest service I have ever had. His background and knowledge of the specialty brews was exceptional. William was a well groomed gentleman and his bright red hair allowed him noticeable and allowed me to obtain his services easily. I would HIGHLY recommend Horse Thief Hollow to all craft beer fanatics and to all eho are looking for a friendly, interactive and fantastic restaurant and Brewery in Chicago.

Went here on a good night because there was live music, and since it was my birthday (and some other chicks) I was serenaded during dinner! The Lieutenant Dan was great - Horse Thiefs version of the Bahn Mi sandwich - and the beer flight was surprisingly good! Im not a huge beer drinker, but I found something to like about each of the sample pours. The South Side needed a place like this!

Beautiful time!!! Food, ambience, company and server was great. "SHANNON" our server was fantastic!!! She was very delightful, unshakeable. All of the 25 people in my party were "VERY!!!" pleased with Shannon. I hope that all of the servers are just like her. I will be back to see. I hope her manager / employer see this review. If I could give her and the restaurant more stars, I would.

It is insulting how much they charge for what they claim to be jumbo wings. I ordered 6 and I could have fit all 6 in the palm of my hand, ridiculous. Not only that I called in a phone order and picked it up, the total was $12.94 the waitress took the $13 I handed her and walked away, she never even attempted to give me change. I will never step foot in there again.

Very good beer, lots of choices with rotating varieties brewed on-site. The food is delicious and portions are large; the menu is meat-centric but theyll accommodate vegetarians. The atmosphere is friendly and fun, but the loft style interior means lots of noise, especially when theres live music. Dont expect to have an intimate conversation here. Family friendly.

I had the Kalak home grown vodka and the wild boar sandwich. It was good but not great, the meat tasted a bit bland more like ground beef without salt. The waitress was great she was knowledgable on all the different types of beers. There is plenty of parking and it also have off street parking to. The decor is unique and has an open layout. Lots of locals.

This place gets better every year. More beer varieties, new menu items, live music on tuesdays and weekends, great bartenders. They are eager to please, and please they do ( i hate it when i talk backwards). Burgers are delicious. Pork nachos are delicious. Is the wing platter delicious? Do flys fly? Do Bears bear? Do Bees be,.... Yes!

Great beers! They also have taps for other breweries which I appreciated and they have a great selection of meads when I was last in. I have eaten a few things as well and the food was good. Great place on Western with a good crowd. They get packed so be prepared to wait or go elsewhere fi you come at a peak time.
