Horrible management. I went with 2 friends and we split the bill 3 ways. 2 girls were charged correctly but one was charged the entire amount (3x what her receipt said!) additionally, the manager openly disclosed this has happened on numerous occasions but no action is taken, customers are not informed and nothing is in place to prevent it from happening. we called and the manager A) called the waitress out by name (completely unprofessional and inappropriate) and B) confirmed he was made aware of the incident at the time it happened, yet he nor the waitress informed us about what happened. We had to go home and pull up our bank statements to find out. As a college student short on cash, this was appalling and disappointing. As someone working in customer service and managerial positions, it is ridiculous that a group of young women would be taken advantage of, charged 3x the price and not informed, nor given any apology or fix when we brought it to the managers attention (again, as he stated he knew of the problem immediately but chose not to inform us or take action). And thirdly, as someone in a management position, I could never imagine calling out an employee by name. That is un called for and inappropriate. This is the fault of the manager and not the waitress. Additionally, the manager openly disclosed this has happened on numerous occasions but no action is taken, customers are not informed and nothing is in place to prevent it from happening. Will not return.

I have a weird (and self-knowingly unreasonable) vendetta against restaurants and bars on DePauls campus. Probably because Im a student there. But this place is amazing. It exceeded ALL my expectations. The patio is absolutely beautiful. Hanging lanterns, spacious seating, comfy couches for larger parties, and a RV-ish looking thing that ties the place together. Its honestly beautiful out there. Being right under the train tracks does get a little loud at times, but if you can get past that, take advantage of Homeslices patio before it starts getting too cold. The food? Awesome. Having a larger party we ordered 3 large pizzas. Two of their menu-ed selections and one custom pizza. All were phenomenal and they have such a wide variety to choose from that there is something for everyone. The thing that pleased me the most was the actual quality of the pizza. It blew my mind. Im pretty picky when it comes to deciding if something is "good" pizza and something is "bad" pizza, and this place far surpassed many others on the "good" scale. Everything tasted so fresh and all the ingredients on the pizza came in perfect proportion to everything else. Honestly, amazing. The service was decent as well, but nothing to write home about (thats a weird saying, isnt it?). Overall I had a great experience here. Check it out if youre ever in the Lincoln Park/DePaul area. You will not be disappointed.

Lincoln Pakers, Lakeviewers, walk dont run to this hoppin new Pizza joint! Though its situated between the Belmont and Armitage stop so hoppin on the Red or Brown is just as easy! Crust can make or break a pizza, and Homeslices cornmeal dusted crust is chewy, crunchy and perfection! The inside is modern, warm and eye catching. The service was great, and as stated at the beginning the food, so good! Salads are flavorful, affordable and perfect so split for two. Two girls split a salad, two pizzas and had half the pizza as leftovers for lunch the next day! Sheffield Salad was spot on - $6 - Mixed greens, mandarin oranges, avocado, bacon bits & lemon poppy seed dressing. Topped with red onions & Gorgonzola crumbles. With 30 specialty pies to choose from its a bit overwhelming even though they are split between meat, chicken and veggie. Gluten free crust is available for $3 extra on a small. The Knife and forker was our favorite, with great smokey flavor and their chewy crispy crust - $11 Pepperoni, blackened chicken, bacon, red onions, mozzarella, provolone, cheddar & barbecue sauce Zephy was a bit of a miss for me but I think thats a personal taste - $11 Portabella mushrooms, sun-dried tomatoes, goat cheese, mozzarella, provolone & spinach/ricotta sauce Definitely a new go to for me! Great for groups as they have 3 huge communal tables as well!

Homeslice serves pizza cooked the traditional way - on a hot stone oven, and they are delicious! There is a huge selection of pizzas to choose from. From the traditional beef, pepperoni, Hawaiian pizzas to a good variety of chicken pizzas to vegan pizzas. This place caters to all dietary preferences. We have a sampling of the full range of pizzas and they were all excellent. The toppings were generous, well cooked and the crust was crispy. They have a way of serving their pizzas to ensure that even after a long period of time, the crust does not get soggy, which makes for an unappetizing bite. My personal favorite is the Mercernary. The unique thing about this pizza is the use of sour cream, which makes for a one of a kind taste that works well. It was my first time having such a pizza and I will definitely order it again when I go back. Oh, and the salads are done very nicely too. Fresh crispy greens, topped with fruit and dressing made for a refreshing start to our meal. Overall, a great place to hang out, have great food and conversation. The unique decor reminiscent of a log cabin, plus its bathrooms (i wont give it away here) make for a great conversation piece. Visit them, you wont regret it.

Beautiful copper and wood-themed decor throughout, from the penny-tiled restrooms and fixture finishes to the Oregon-sourced logs lining the walls and natural wood tabletops. Owner/partner Josh Iachelli intended this to be a low-key neighborhood hangout for people seeking an alternative to the Lincoln Park bar scene, and succeeded in creating a place where friends with various dietary preferences can meet for a meal and all leave satisfied! Homeslice uses special pans to ensure a crisp thin crust and perfectly cooked toppings. Whole wheat crust available on any pie (and is actually tastier than the regular! You might be tempted to let prior experience with cardboard-like versions youve had elsewhere influence your decision, but try both side by side youll see for yourself). The salad options are not the most inventive--but really fresh, not wilted. Very Gary (with wheat crust and no cheese) is the best vegan pizza Ive had in Chicago so far! The only thing that would improve it is the addition of some high-quality cured olives to add a salty dimension.

This was the first time I have visited this establishment. The service was excellent from the moment we walked in until we left. Hostesses were extremely flexible and accommodating in letting me put in my name for a party of 6 for 6:30pm on a Friday night. My party didnt make it all there until 6:50pm but they sat us shortly after. Our server was excellent and kept the water glasses full (a measure of great service). We ordered the bread sticks with the goat cheese marinara. It was a great beginning to our meal. Our table ordered the Special-K, Mercenary & Pepperoni. My favorite was the Mercenary (sans sour cream) along with the sriracha which comes out with the pizza. Special-K was a close second to the Mercenary. The owner came by to greet us and to see how we were doing. I would definitely come back.

Welcome to Chicago, Homeslice! I came here for lunch with a group of 14 and we tried 6 medium pizzas. Brilliant idea as we got to try so many kinds - vegan (very Gary), a white pizza (miller white), veggie (natelicious), lots of meat lover combos (lew wow and kinfe & forker, plus the mercernary). Hamds down the Mercernary was our groups favorite - blackened chicken, pepoeroni, jalepenos and sour cream it sounds crazy but it was an awesome combination. The decor is awesome, with the look and feel of a log cabin made with imported northern fir trees from Oregon. We met Josh, one of the owners who was hospitable, welcoming and really proud to be part of the community. Homeslice will be on the regular pizza rotation from this point forward.
