The service was terrible. two women and the fry cook intentionally try to confuse costumers into ordering things so they spend more. They basically try to order for you. the cook asked the man behind me "double?" he said single and the cook repeated "double?" three times and then asked "so you want two?" and the man kept repeating "just a single cheesebuger." they ask you if you want chips as they hand you the bag and they question you if you try to give it back. when my friend asked how much the chips were, the woman gave him a look and said "you wanna eat or you wanna ask prices?" in a sarcastic way. the chip bags are as expensive as any other fast food place only 1/4 of the size. if you want to spend under $10 you have to be very insistent on what you dont want. The food was incredibly bland. the burger patty was flavorless and thinner than any ive seen. The bun was oversized and completely dry. I ordered an egg and bacon on my burger, expecting an egg over easy but it was cooked dry and mutilated so that it was flavorless as well. the only thing on the burger with any flavor at all was the bacon which is impossible to mess up if its cooked, but it was cooked into the egg which made it too chewy. ketchup could barely salvage this meal, and they keep it behind the counter and you must ask for it, just like with anything else. which means you best be prepared to get some attitude. I was excited to try this place and couldnt have been more disappointed. needless to say, i wont ever be going back and i wouldnt even recommend this place to my worst enemy.

One of the more affordable places to have a meal on a patio in Navy Pier. The foods not too bad, but being able to people watch and enjoy the weather on a warm summers day in the comfort of a shaded patio, without burning a hole in your pocket or on your skin, makes up for any lack in the quality of the food. I had the double cheesborger. When I first saw it, I thought to myself: Is that it? Its just two patties, a slice of cheese and a bun. Later I realized that I had to add onions, mustard, ketchup and relish at the condiments counter. I love my condiments so I slopped everything on. After taking a few bites, I found that the burger, or borger, was actually quite tasty. The patty wasnt too greasy, it didnt taste fake, it tasted like it was made of real meat and not other stuff and the bun was quite nice as well, not too dry or flaky. Overall, this is not a bad option if you want to sit on a patio and are being price conscious. The other restaurants that have patios are at least 3 times more expensive, of course they serve better food but if youre just want something to fill your stomach, Billy Goat is a decent choice.

I have gone to this place twice, first time was a better visit. I find the food to be good, but seems overpriced. took my girlfriend with and she wasnt happy at all... her tiny chicken sandwich cost more than my bigger double cheeseburger. I forgot they didnt sell fries, and well almost $2 for such a small drink that was already half full of ice. I wouldve much rather gone to McDonalds and gotten a huge meal that came with fries and a real drink that had some size to it. Also the older gentleman who filled up our drinks pretty much slammed/thrown them onto the counter when giving them to us. never going here again unless its free.

I get that this is a greasy spoon but its not a good greasy spoon. The bun was dry and oversized, served room temp, patties were flavorless, topping and condiments station awkwardly placed and inadequate. Witnessed man at the register go back and forth between handling food and ringing ppl up without washing hands or gloves. Unsanitary and unsatisfying. Any of the places on maxwell street top this hands down.

Heard some good things about this place so we decided to try it. Bad choice. The burgers had absolutely NO flavor at all. They used a nice bun but the burger tasted like nothing, no salt or pepper, just nothing! The fries were good but Ive had similar fries just about everywhere else. Really disappointed in this place as there was a decent crowd here and the line was long. I would not eat here again.

This Billy Goat location is obviously very touristy (as it is on Navy Pier) and the burgers come with a much higher price tag, but it is one of the best food options on the Pier. I love the double cheezborger and when I am here for conventions or trade shows, Billy Goat is my go-to stop for breakfast sandwiches. The team behind the grill is so awesome, full of character and they provide great service.

The bartenders on the the outside part need to learn customer service. My boyfriend and I ordered two sodas and the girl rolled her eyes and gave us the sodas and never came back. We asked for our tab from the other bartender and he ignored us and just kept talking to friend that walked up after we asked. We had to ask again for the bill. Im sorry ordering two sodas ruined your day.

HORRIBLE FOOD! AVOID AT ALL COST!!! We were going to buy a burger inside the shop area of the pier but a "friend" said this place down the pier was cheaper...........by end of meal we all agreed we should have paid more for a decent burger.....total disappointment:( Bun was hard and dry burger didnt seem properly cooked with NO FLAVOR....service wack...ugh will never go again.

Not as horrible as I thought but not great. They are probably the cheapest in the area on the pier and thats the only thing they have going for them. The petty has no taste, no fries, no extra on the burger. You get cheese, pickle and onion, THATS IT! If you are looking for a cheap ok meal you found the place.

Average food at relatively decent prices yet I still left feeling ripped off. A double cheeseburger should, by definition, contain two cheeseburger patties. However, here they put one slice of cheese between two patties. They also charge you $1 for refills- thats unacceptable at a fast food joint.

The food proves to be delicious, however it had its faults. The meat wasnt very well done, and it came out to be very greasy. In addition, the only available toppins were pickles and onions. They could add lettuce, and tomato. The staff there is very lively and proves to be quite entertaining.

We sat at the bar for about 10 minutes the bartender didnt even recognize us or say that they would be with us when we went inside the restaurant was dirty looking....we went on up to DMK Burger and fish bat. Or there is great food great prices and great service

Food is alright, being able to add your own pickles makes up for the average-ness of the burger. The staff/bartenders is was makes this a great place. Super friendly. Also it being on Navy Pier makes for great ambiance with the outdoor seating.

Most overpriced and plain burgers Ive ever had and Ive been to plenty of amusement parks. It could be that theres a learning curve, but there is no signage to explain the very basic menu board. Maybe theyre known for the booze...
