This is the original location for the 90 Miles Cuban restaurant chain. You can get some great authentic Cuban food here. Went here recently and had the Guajiriti which is a pounded steak with Romaine lettuce, tomato, onions, swiss cheese and chimichurri in a green plantain sandwich. Also had the pan con lechon which is roasted pork Citrus mango, grilled onions with fried sweet plantains in a special sauce. Served on either a white or wheat French baguette with plantain chips or french fries. My favorite so far is the pan con lechon sandwich. This location has a small indoor eating area with a larger Outdoors patio area which is a great place to be on a nice warm sunny day. Prices cant be beat and as you can see by my pictures the portions are large and very filling. The employees were cordial and helpful. All in all its a great place to grab a sandwich or even check out the specials cuz they have some wonderful deals.

First time visit. Like the decor. Reminds me of so many cuban things. Pastel de guayaba was ok. Coffee was ok. But being from Cuba i at least expect to feel like ive had a cuban encounter like we cubans always leave on people. The cashier girl spoke no Spanish, which is just fine, but when I asked for cafe cubano i got a 8 inch tall coffee as though I was at Starbucks. Thats not cuban. I guess not having staff thats either cuban or knowledgeable of cuban items brings these results. Nevertheless, i took the coffee not to make any issue of it. Another point 90 miles might want to take into account is, if people have questions about cuban things displayed in the place, that by having non cubans or staff with no knowledge of cuba, that no true experience of Cuba will be left on the customers. I wish 90 miles the best. God bless.

Well I was there today 4/08/2013 for lunch......and let me tell you this girl behind the counter was very loud and couldnt get one and one together. ....my food was really bad.....the rice and beans had no taste at all, and my fish sandwich was salty......and I order my fish grilled because she recommended it....and I got it fried. .......she brought the beans and rice and my son cuban sandwich but for some reason she forgot my sandwich. ......I had to get up and ask if my sandwich was ready..... bad food, bad service........never again.....I told her about my sandwich and the only thing she could say is oh honey I am sorry.......I felt like the guy in scarface asking for more meat on his sandwich.....que mas carne que mas carne asi viene el sandwich.........

Delicious- you must go. Charming space, smaller than I expected, as its more of a carry-out place, but very well decorated with lots of thought and consideration. I had the Pollo (chicken) dinner, which comes with white rice, black beans and sweet plantains. The plantains were everything that I was hoping for- a perfectly prepared, wonderful sweet balance to the beans and chicken. The chicken and beans were delicately seasoned- not overdone. I also tried the veggie and beef empanadas- those were just ok. As an empanada lover, I have had better and I have had worse. I probably wouldnt order them again. I talked to the owner about his story of opening up the place- he is very personable and his story is inspiring- just follow your dreams!

If you eat meat, you need to get your butt here and try "el sandwichito". Its going to change your idea of Cuban food, breakfast, and sandwiches - amazing. The Cuban coffee is delish, and the empanadas were... interesting (though not a highlight); the chorizo and goat cheese was way more goat cheesy than chorizo-y, which was finely minced and mixed with vast quantities of the cheese. Theres nice outdoor seating, plenty of room for at least 6 parties, but I dont envy the person who comes here when its cold: theres a small amount of indoor seating in an awkward three-sided bar-level configuration where everyone faces the wall. Fine for waiting for pick-up, but probably not the best for an actual meal experience.

Just picked up food to go. Normally this is spot on but today was a big disappointment… the roast pork sandwich was dry and hardly any pork in the sandwich….. Now I have gotten this sandwich before and it ia normally tender juicy and the meat fills the sandwich, but not today…. The bistec sandwich was good buy also a little dry… the yellow rice seems like they had it out for a while…. Maybe today was just a. Off day. Was a big dissapointment… the yuca fries were good but they did not give me the garlic saucr they gave me some sauce with onions and cilantro not the normal sauce they normally five with the yaca fries.

I am Latin and the Cuban food is a real delight. But 90 Miles was way above my expectations. Not only the food was great, but the staff and the environment were simply amazing. I had no idea of how big they are, because the front door doesnt look so spacious. The back room is a very colorful, full of images of the Cuban culture, but without making the restaurant look fancy. Simple, yet effective. We were over there for our friends bday and the waiter was super kind and gave us a piece of cake so we could sing her happy birthday! :)

This is a tiny, little burst of joyful cuisine, nestled into the north side of Chicago. Tiny is not overstatement. Neither is joyful. The food we had here was simply a pleasure! The empanadas, black beans, fried plaintains were all just very well done and quite excellent. We didnt try any beverage here, however. The parking is a bit odd and quite limited; there is one or two spaces in quite-tight lot, adjacent to the restaurant. Though, it may be easier to just park on the street.

Typical Cuban food, with creative entrees and respectable diversity in the menu offerings. Also a great date spot in the warmer months when the outside patio is open (BYOB!), but sadly it tends to be uncomfortably cramped during the meal rush hours in the winter months. Check out their cafe con leche if youre looking for an caffeine-heavy alternative to Starbucks offerings, and you definitely cant go wrong with their media noche and Cubana sandwiches.

The restaurant is a fantastic neighborhood establishment that service high quality Cuban food. I normally get the Pan con Lechon sandwich but I dont think they serve any bad options. You should visit during a warm day to take advantage of their outside seating area. The interior area is well decorated but a little cramped as it is all sitting counters. The food is worth the detour.

This sandwich place has phenomenal sandwiches. Everything is absolutely delicious, the portions are generous, and the staff are really friendly. It almost feels like a party is going on. They made a suggestion to a friend and followed it with, "If you dont like it I will give you your money back." That was definitely not necessary, as the sandwich was a work of art.

This was a fun place to eat. They serve authentic Cuban dishes and sandwiches. The sandwiches are kind of expensive for a sandwich but I think they are worth the extra money. The food is on the heavy side and there isnt much here for vegetarians so dont go here with vegetarian friends. The staff was really nice and the décor is funky.
