La Peep had a cute atmosphere, but I had a terrible experience. I went with my boyfriend for brunch, and the waitress was short and clipped with us, almost to the extent of rudeness. Normally this wouldnt be upsetting, as working in a restaurant can be stressful, but it seemed like she was warm and friendly with the patrons surrounding us, many of whom arrived after us and received their food before us. The reason her treatment gave me pause is that my boyfriend is African American. The guests surrounding us were all white. Its not a good feeling to be treated differently because of your skin tone, and its always frustrating when you dont have any outright racist actions to point to. However, the waitress made us feel unwelcome and inferior. We walked out of La Peep with mediocre food churning in our stomachs. I would in no way recommend this restaurant to anyone.

This is the first time I ever write a review because this place was beyond disappointing. Although we expected a long wait as with most breakfast places... when my boyfriend and I ordered our food a family or 7 also ordered. The family of 7 got their food nearly immediately after and we didnt get ours until they were done (about a half hour later) Other groups who were seated after had gotton their food already. The waitress with the PURPLE hair who was our waitress didnt check in with us until right before we got our food and claimed that it was too busy thats why our food took forever but yet everyone else had gotton their food. We believe this happened because we were the only Latinos in the restaurant and everyone their was white. Oh and the food was not even good. Never going back and definitely telling my social circles to never go.

TERRIBLE PLACE FOR A FAMILY WITH CHILDREN! We went there for a family brunch with our children. As we were eating at our table, one of the servers (not the one for our table) told us "time to go" in a curt manner as she was passing our table and looking at our children. When we brought this to the attention of the front desk, a lady with blonde hair and glasses responded "well, people with children make running our business difficult." When we discussed this matter with the manager, his response was "it is true that children make it difficult for our restaurant." The place made it very clear to us that they do not welcome any family and that (potentially illegal) policy/practice seemed to be shared by its upper management. We have been going there for decades but we will no longer be going there.

My friend and I went there for breakfast today and were not impressed at all. My friend had been given two gift certificates for two free meals and the certificates were signed by a manager/owner and had no expiration date. We were told that we could not use these certificates that were for Le Peep because the restaurant has a new owner. When you purchase a business, you assume obligation to the businesses debts and gift certificates are included in that. I am sorry that you dont want to accept gift certificates for THIS restaurant but I am not sorry that legally they need to be accepted. Customers should not be penalized for your purchasing of a business that gave out gift certificates and you dont like taking them.

Went alone on Sunday morning before a school workshop. I was seated immediately which was great but my waiter forgot about me... 15 minutes later a waitress from a dofferent section asked if I had been helped. When I told her I hadnt been she promptly took my order and got me coffee. Since I was not in her section though, I was then handed off to a different waitress. A fourth person then asked me if everything was okay when I had already finished my meal. Being a Sunday, I didnt particularly care since the Salmon Benny was delicious and I was given my own carafe of coffee and they were busy. I may come here again next time Im in town but probably with a group.

It was very clean. The service was very good. They also have outdoor seating, but we did not go out there. The place was packed. The outside seating area wasnt mentioned to us, so perhaps you have to ask specifically. They also did not tell us about their flavored coffee options until we asked. However, they were very busy. I would say its an upscale version of a Bob Evans. Not super creative with the menu. Pretty much your standard American breakfast fare. But it was a solid choice for breakfast. Much better than some of the diners and other breakfast joints in town.

I used to work at Le Peep. I enjoyed the breakfasts, the customers, and the other staff. However, the general atmosphere was clouded by the owner (Mike) and the managers. Mike might be a nice, friendly guy outside of the restaurant; however, he continually put down the wait staff (often in front of customers!) and ranted about every tiny thing that happened in the restaurant. He even led customers on sometimes, claiming things that werent true (such as the freshness of the orange juice, which someone else mentioned). Enjoy the food, avoid the owner and manager!

Probably the best breakfast restaurant in the area: excellent food, friendly and experienced wait staff and managers. All tables come with an carafe of iced water and condiments. Coffee is served with a big thermos, so you can refill at will. My favorite is the mini Denver with rye toast. The kids menu includes a great Mac and cheese, according to a connoisseur. On the weekends it can get very busy, but you can call ahead to put your name on the list.

Nice restaurant, friendly staff, great prices. The coffee was much better than coffee Ive had at other breakfast places. We had cinnimon roll which was delicious and a skillet with biscuits. They had real whipped butter and the standard jelly packets youve come to expect. The skillet was tasty, but heavily salted. Not sure if the saltiness is a regional thing, but it was much more than Id get at a restaurant in the Northwest.

Super fun VERY FAMILY oriented too! My son was all over the library of books they have on hand to keep little ones happy. The staff catered to our needs as a family with small kids. The topper was the fun pancakes they served the kids. I have always enjoyed eating here- for years- as the food and service is top notch. Champaign Le Peep does skillets like no other place in town. Highly recommend!

I love the Skillet dishes and Benedict dishes, always fresh and tasty! I also love the peasant potatoes, if you are feeling slim, have cheese melted on them! Yummy! Service is always freindly! Its a bit busy on the weekend so I go during the week when I can. My favorite lunch item is a grilled turkey and veggie sandwich but I usually stick w/ breakfast entrees for breakfast or lunch

Great breakfast place with attentive staff. There will always be approximately a 30 minute wait on the weekend, but it is worth it. My favorite things are the stuff french toast, the different combinations of eggs Benedict, or the ranchero omlete. I also really appreciate that they leave a carafe of coffee and water at the table so you dont have to wait for a refill.

Le peep is very nice, cozy, and cute restaurant that you can find delicious breakfast dishes as well as deserts and pastas! We love it here and come occasionally. They have punch card, and you got a punch for every entree you ordered. At one visit, we got 5 punches. Pretty quick, huh! :) overall everything tastes good. Definitely recommend it here
