I was a loyal customer for YEARS. The food was always pretty good. We wont eat there anymore. Yesterday, I ordered and got a call saying the driver was on his way but forgot the item I was most anticipating. I have been sick this week and was really looking forward to it, so I asked if they could redeliver later. I was abruptly told, "NO, NO TIME." It was 7:30 and they close at 9 so I dont quite get the no time thing. Anyway, I was irritated when the driver got there so I asked him since they forgot something to please take off the $2.50 delivery charge. He looked scared and called his boss who made him put me on the phone. He went off on me saying I was trying to take advantage of the situation and that I either pay in full or dont take the food. He wouldnt even listen to why I was upset, he was too busy screaming at me. We will NEVER eat there again.

To the people who are reading this. THE ENTIRE city of Aurora pays 10% tax at restaurants. General tax in aurora is 8% (I think) However, there is 2% tax added to EVERY SINGLE transaction whether you eat at McDonalds or East China Inn. Much like Chicago. Sales tax is 10% + 3% Restaurant Tax = 13%. One note, its NOT separated on your check, it will simply show tax at 10%, not separated out! This is a form of a "luxury" tax. Naperville has the same tax, but a smaller amount, I think only 1% higher. (I have also eaten here, its been a while, but this is an accurate score of the food too). Aurora first passed this law back in 1997 or 1998. I know because I worked at a restaurant in Aurora when the law was passed!

This place is mediocre at best. The food is insanely inconsistent and I say that as someone who went there once a week for 6 months. Sometimes the food will be food, other times the food will be bad (same dish). They must have cooks with very different tastes. Some days the rice will hardly be fried, other days there will be hardly any chicken in the rice, other days both. Too inconsistent, and not worth it on the days where they make it badly.

This place is scamming all of us - they are charging 10% sales tax!!! We ordered take-out and noticed this after getting home. We called to inquire about the rate and they claim that "for their area", 10% is correct. We checked the Illinois state website and 10% is NOT correct! Dont give them any more of your hard earned money. There are lots of other chinese restaurants in the area that would be happy to oblige.

After years of living in Batavia and loving East China Inn... I placed an online order while visiting home for Christmas. Their coupon does not actually work online... even if you put it in special instruction, bring it with you. The staff was incredibly rude. So dont spend more to use their $25/$35 coupon. They will do all they can to not honor it and then treat you horribly.

My husband and I love East China Inn. Its a very nice sit down restaurant that also delivers. As of approximately April 2016 they have a new menu. One thing I love about their menu is that it has beautiful photos of the various items on the menu of youre not familiar with all of the types of food. Three of our favorites are orange chicken, lemon chicken and beef with tomatoes.

Great pricing for the area with a good helping of food. They have pricing for every situation (Lunch/Dinner/Catering). If you walk in and order, your wait is not long at all. The Koi Fish tank is cleaned EVERY week; Ive seen this done during the lunch hours (super clean restaurant). Nice small bar area inside, plenty of seating if you want to stay and eat.

I placed an order for Chicken and broccoli, the Crab rangoon and a pineapple smoothie. The smoothie was watery, the sauce used for the chicken and broccoli had a weird smell and the chicken had a weird taste / consistency. After two bites I could not take it and thew the food out. Wasted $18 bucks and would not ordered again.

This restaurant when we arrive or do not welcome you and to bariar when you ask for your food they take the order reluctantly, the worst is when they deliver it they will be flushed on the counter as if you were asked for it. They do not go further, there are better restaurants and they anticipate you as what we are consumed.

Delivery Service - this is by far the BEST Chinese food I have ever had in delivery service. Great taste - fresh. Pricier than the average chinese place as it relates to portion size, but due to higher quality items - and SO worth it! Will definitely continue ordering from here!!

I am always very happy with the East China Inn experience. The wait staff is helpful and friendly. The food is a very good quality and delicious. The prices are amazing for the amount of food. The lunch specials include rice and an egg roll for less than $6.00. Amazing!

I eat there on a regular basis but the last time I went there I noticed a thick layer of dust on the wooden booth ledges. The blinds on the doors are covered in dirt and dust! They should probably dust a little more often. As far as the food goes - excellent!

Great food Great service just good. The amount of food for the price cant be beat. The best orange chicken Ive ever had. I do not usually write a review for anything but since they would get a 10 in every category I just had to leave a review for them.

My absolute favorite place for Chinese in the area. Go for lunch and the food is amazingly cheap. The service is always great, the food always gets to you fast, and you never feel guilty when you get the bill. The best egg drop soup Ive ever had.

The food and service are great every time I eat here. Their wanton soup is the best I have had. Friendly staff, albeit the lack of English with some staff make them seem a little standoffish but the experience is still wonderful.

Very fast service, friendly and clean. Most of my experience has been take out related, but has been a good experience either way. Mobile ordering could be streamlined to be a bit more efficient, kinda tough on a phone.
