I will keep it real. I have been to Jamaica about 14 times and have had friends/boyfriends who are Jamaican. I cook Jamaican Food. I know good Jamaican food and Kool Runnings has it. I went for brunch and they had an all you can eat breakfast buffet which I was unsure of at first, but they had Ackee and Saltfish. I LOVE ACKEE AND SALTFISH. Therefore the 19.99 price was worth it because I believe I had three (large) servings of it. Add in the boiled dumpling, fried dumpling, boiled banana and callaloo and you got yourself a traditional Jamaican breakfast and it was all good. All. Of. It. Oh and the plantains WERE THE BOMB! I had probably... a lot of them! I have to admit the majority of the items on the buffet were fished based, which I actually prefer. There was Ackee and Saltfish, Saltfish and veggies and Mackeral. I had both saltfish dishes and they were great. There was an option to have a made to order omelet, but you had to ask and really who wants eggs when you can have cooked food! I was with a group and others ordered stewed chicken and I also got a taste of the curry chicken, which was good. The portions are huge!! A fellow table mate ordered I believe the snapper and I love it because it was the whole snapper ( be prepared if you dont want to see the head) and he cleaned it right off the bone. Looked delicious!! Someone ordered some patties and I should have asked if they were house made or bought. If there were Juicy patties I need to go back but now that I think on it, they didnt look like it. They didnt come with cocoa bread though, and I am not sure if that is an option. After the heavy meal we got some fresh fruit which is always a nice way to end the meal. I definitely need to go back for some oxtails and goat and I want to based on my first experience! Otherwise what I had was great. The service was good especially for a large group. The price is fair for the large portions, I mean most people had left overs! And the buffet is worth it if you are an Ackee and Saltfish lover like me especially since off the menu its 12.99. Definitely give Kool Runnings a try! And speak up with any questions or concerns, the staff/owners were more then helpful.

The food was great but the service made it unbearable to ever go back. First of all, we were not greeted when we walked thru the door. We were asked to seat ourselves, so we did. We noticed the waitress waited on two different tables that came in way after us before acknowledging us. My husband headed for the door and a gentleman apologized and stated he was sorry. The waitress never handed us a menu but after 35 min of not being served we pretty much figured out what we wanted so we placed our order. 30 more minutes passed and we were asked to repeat our order to the gentleman...then the waitress asked us to repeat our order A THIRD TIME! Okay so I was convinced we were on the "What Would U Do?" Show!!! You gotta be joking! After waiting over an hour, our order was put in. At this point the gentleman apologized perfusely , my husband was heated, but the gentleman didnt offer a coupon, free cocoa bread, drink, entree or anything to make amends for how we were treated. Finally we got our food! She never stopped to ask how are things, do u need anything...nothing from the waitress and they werent even packed. We have never experienced a more unprofessional wait staff and we will not be returning!!! I dont think it would matter to them anyway which is why Im posting this review.

I have eaten here on several occasions and normally have had a decent experience. However, on NYE I bought two oxtail dinners for both my husband and myself and was highly disappointed. When I got the food home it smelled funny, so I tried the oxtail it was normal, but the greens were really bitter! What was worse, I called the owner/manager and asked if anyone else had this experience and he told me no but that the greens may have been bad. WHAT?! I was upset at how nonchalant he was that he sold a customer bad collard greens and didnt even offer a refund or compensation ...he just said he apologized and that he would be happy to look into it in the future. Now granted its not about the money, but when you pay 30$ for a meal you want to be able to eat the whole thing. We were so repulsed and afraid of getting sick bringing in the New Year, we didnt even eat it. So needless to say I wont be back, which is a bummer because I work in the area and like eating there on my lunch break. Obviously they dont care to lose customers!

Finally, a real Jamaican restaurant with real Jamaican flavor. My husband and I are from Jamaica, Haiti and its been impossible to find real island flavor at most of the so called Jamaican restaurants. Weve been to several restaurants in Atlanta, and Lawrenceville. All major disappointments dispite the 4+ star ratings. I am so happy Ive found this place. The only restaurant so far that comes close to real Jamaican food. The oxtail with rice and peas is absolutely delicious. The oxtail is cooked down and falls off the bone. Its really good and worth the trip. The curry chicken is good but reminds me more of Indian curry more than Jamaican curry. Another big thing to point out is the food is not salty. Ive found most restaurants have a salt issue. I was pleasantly surprised that it wasnt the case at this restaurant. I will be going back....full bar and Sunday "all you can eat" brunch menu as well. I am looking forward to my next trip with the family.

I did not have a very good experience here, and I will most likely never go back. The management seemed to be very unorganized, but I also fault the retarded person who arranged a party of over 20 people in this small space. By the time we were seated there was very little to no food for the brunch. We waited at least 30 minutes before anything else was brought out. All that was brought out was a half pan of curry chicken and brown stewed meat, while all other chaffing dishes remained empty. All I really ate was a dab of porridge, a spoonful of curry chicken and rice and peas and a little brown stewed chicken, all for $22 , in which the lady took off $5, but even that was not sufficient because I did not even eat $17 worth of food. Worst Mothers Day brunch ever, I would have rather eaten elsewhere.

ROACHES!!!! I went there last night and a giant roach was crawling on my leg while sitting down waiting for my food to dine in. I immediately jumped and the entire staff laughed and did not do anything to make it right. As a matter of fact they still charged me and my family. There excuse was, "its summer time roaches will get in all the time, nothing we can do"...thats nasty and innapropriate for any resturaunt to say. So sad, typical Jamaicans lacking customer service. I will NEVER return here or will I tell any of my clients to eat here. No one tried to make the situation right. I threw my food away once I left building. Smh....just nasty ....Think about it the next time you eat here what might be in your food.
