I searched this place on Google to find their phone number, but I was curious and clicked on reviews. I am appalled that so many people are reviewing this place negatively. I have been coming here for 2 years, and Ive been pleased every time I visit. I bring friends, new and old, here. Due to the hookah atmosphere. Its really only suitable for people over the age of 18, which I am completely fine with. If you come after 10 pm on a Friday or Saturday, they will card you to be 21 or older I believe, but I may be wrong. I love the food here. I am very picky about Gyros, but theirs is phenomenal. Their falafel is to die for....its never too dry or too moist. Drinks can get pretty expensive, but if you just buy one or two, youre safe from an expensive tab later or. The hookah is pretty expensive...I believe its $20 per hookah, with 1 hose. Its definitely good hookah, but beware that it is expensive. My favorite flavor used to be Xxx on the Beach, but I dont think they carry it anymore. The peach, strawberry, and mint combination is pretty nice though. As far as the atmosphere goes, its to be expected that it will get loud on the weekends. Its definitely catered to KSU students, but I dont mind. They have a strange mix of Mediterranean, electronic, rap music, but I enjoy it. They dim the lights sometime after 11 to give it a different kind d of ambiance. My only "negative" complaint about this whole place is that the music is quite loud, so its hard to get your waiters attention sometimes. Nothing a tap on the shoulder cant fix :) Really love this place. I thought I should give a clear description of this place, after reading glasses all the negative comments. The take away from this? Cool place, good food, good hookah, but dont come here on a tight budget. This is somewhere you go to treat yourself. Have fun :)

This is the 2nd time ive experienced RUDE customer service from this place and got ripped off to boot!! We ordered food to be picked up at around 4:15pm...this was "lunch" for me...and I had looked at their online menu on my cell and went off the prices based on there. $25 for lunch. From your cell there is only one menu given...not a "lunch" and "dinner" menu. When we went to get it we were charged DOUBLE that price! $49! when we asked why it was DOUBLE they said it was "dinner" prices. I asked "Are we getting double the food?"...they said "no its the same portion just dinner prices". LOL!!! #1 they are ripping people off charging double for the same food #2 they should have told us when we placed the order it would be a "dinner" prices #3 they need to have a clear menu on google mobile version that tells you clearly there is a difference in price. They were very rude about it and would not work with us at all even though we ordered RIGHT after 4pm and their menu was wrong! These guys arent nice. Dont give them your business. As Vanilla Ice once said "If there is a problem YO Ill solve it"...THEY WONT...#RUDE!!!!

What a dump! My wife and I went there because we had a coupon. Imagine walking in the door and finding yourself in some cheesy overpriced Mediterranean restaurant like youd find in Buckhead, except no good looking people in this one! It turns out they were going to have a DJ that night, they had iced down beer tubs and several of the staff walking around and what appeared to be the staffs kids running around as well. The host said we could sit anywhere so we sat at one of the "low" tables where you have to sit Indian style. No lie, there were literally only 2 other tables of customers in the restaurant, so basically empty. So we waited and waited and waited without getting waited on. No one even came over and asked us for our drink order. Meanwhile we watched the staff playing around and playing with their kids and talking, but no one helped us. I have NO patience for waiting around and getting crappy service in a dead restaurant so we got up and left. I guess they were more concerned with the anticipation of their other 3 guests showing up that night for their cheesy Wanna be nightclub DJ party!

First of all when we say our waiter was so rude, disrespectful, and even giving us attitude when ordering. When we said we were ready to order he said "okay" and just walked away from us and didnt come back for 15 min . A friend of mine was sexually assaulted while the other was grabbed , pulled, and yanked by the bouncer when we were trying to pay and leave. Two of our guy friends were hit and one had a hookah thrown at him. The bouncer did nothing with the other group who started the fight but instead decided to yell at the females who had nothing to do with it. Non stop were we disrespected by the RUDDEST people I have ever met. Never in my life have I had a friend be sexually assaulted, physically assaulted, yelled at, disrespected by such rude men. Never. It was my first and LAST time ever going. DO NOT RECOMMEND. WORST PLACE EVER !!!!!!! Ive been to other hookah bars that had better service, faster, and nicer employees and with a bouncer who actually does his job. Bouncer does not care about women and our safety. DO NOT GO! Im saving you.

This is a regular place for my family and I, and we love it. The menu is diverse, and authentic appealing to even my "picky eater". The staff has always been warm and friendly, and take the time to cut up and socialize making this an entertaining event not just going out to eat. My wife and I chose Cafe Istanbul as our first choice for date night, and meeting with friends old, and new. After reading the negative postings I have to assume they are posted by the Golden Corral, and Red Lobster crowd complaining of high prices, and slow service. In this enviroment you dont rush to scarf down bulk made gruel, and wash it down with Budwieser. This place is about atmosphere, and a great evening of specially prepared delights (not out of a can, or microwaved). Perhaps they would be better served to work up to an ethnic inspired resturant for dinner and an entertaining evening. My suggestion would be Chuck E Cheese

Ive been going here regularly for 3 years now, and every time Ive had a most exemplary experience! Im a student at KSU and I always have my birthday dinner here. The waitresses are beautiful, helpful, and very kind. They make you feel welcome. If you are unfamiliar with the menu, the servers will answer any question you have, including questions about the "adult beverage" menu. There are a few drinks on their beverage menu that incorporate strange-sounding middle eastern liqours, but the servers never lead me astray! They know everything about anything in the menu, and then some. And if it wasnt already enough, theyll serve you a hookah whenever you ask, and they have like 15 flavors of sheshah, all of which the waitresses can describe and blend. I always have a fantastic time at Cafe Istanbul. If youre feeling iffy about trying the Turkish quinine, just go for it. What do you have to lose?
