Everything went great until the end, when I asked for the check. Our waitress went off and then we saw her attending to two new brand new tables full of people taking orders, then she went back to the kitchen and did not reappear. After about 10 minutes, we were starting to look annoyed, and another waitress asked us what we were waiting for, and we said "The check". Our waitress had just come out of the back, and was approaching yet another new table to take orders. The second waitress took my credit card, went over and took the check folder from our waitress, and disappeared. After another 5-10 minutes, our original waitress asked us what was up, and we said we were waiting for my credit card to be returned. Another 5-10 minutes pass, and we realize all the waitresses are running around frantically - and I start to get seriously upset! The second waitress comes and tells us she thinks she left it in the kitchen, and more scurrying and commotion ensues. I ask to see a manager at this point. Finally the second waitress starts looking through check folders on other guests booths, and come running back with my card and the check. No apology from her at all - she said rather affronted that we had been pushy about getting our check and she had only been trying to help. No apology form the first waitress who had ignored us when we asked for the check, either! The manager walks up right then and can see I am very upset. I explain to him that his staff lost my credit card - which is tied to all my bank accounts - for over 20 minutes!!! They had given my card to another customer! I will give kudos to the manager. He looked appalled, shut his eyes, shook his head, and asked me to wait a moment. He came right back and had voided the entire transaction and refunded our meal. He gave me both receipts - the original charge and the voided copy. HE apologized profusely and I appreciated his response. Seriously, though - watch whoever has your credit card like a hawk, or else bring cash to this location. That kind of error is just not acceptable. As i left, the second waitress was still running after me protesting that she was "just trying to help you!" THAT kind of help I can do without - the guy they gave my card to could have simply walked out with access to my entire financials. NOT cool. Good manager - bad staff.

OTB, were breaking up. What has happened to this location? We used to come once a week, now Im at the point where Im not sure Ill ever go back. On 4/1/16 we came in at about 5:00 for dinner. The staff was really nice while we were being seated and a waiter appeared in seconds to take a drink order. He comes back and in the 2 minutes that hes been gone hes somehow forgotten what was ordered and just brings water saying it was the "safe choice". Hes also talking really loudly and saying really weird things that made you want to bathe. Im very sure he was drunk. He takes our order and then never visits our table again. He spends the next 40 minutes or so hitting on some people at a nearby table. Our drinks never came, nor our chips. We had ordered two of the "fajita bundles" which were supposed to come with an appetizer of queso. It never showed up. After nearly 30 minutes, the food comes to the table (brought by someone else entirely) and none of it is right. Theres one order of fajitas, the sides requested arent there, the condiments requested arent there, and the tacos that someone else in my party had ordered werent right either. The person who brought the food over was somehow less competent than the waiter. He asked who had the fajitas and I raised my hand as did someone else at the table and he sat them down in front of the person who got the tacos. When we tried to move the plates, he moved them back. At that point said we were leaving and the man with the food, who by this point has identified himself as a manager, starts getting super defensive and wanting to know whats wrong. We say that none of the food is right and the service has been abysmal. Rather than let us get up he starts rattling off questions about how he wants to know as much detail as he can so he can "rectify the problem in the future" and wants to bring the waiter back over (who has been standing 10 feet away this whole time, flirting with some woman and drinking something out of a pitcher, he didnt even notice this happening). And as bad as this evening was, it wasnt the worst experience Ive ever had at this location. The restaurant is filthy, the food quality has gone downhill, and the staff dont care. Thanks, but no thanks.

Terrible service, terrible personnel. This will be the 2nd time I have had to walk out of here the first time a few months ago I was out one night and after placing my order my wife & I had to endure a 75 minute wait on our food before I decided to walk out of the restaurant at that moment the server decided to go get the manager and told me to sit by to wait for manager. This was another 10 minute wait and after that I was just done with this place. I was so furious that night that I wanted to call their headquarters but ultimately decided against it. Now we come to today, I received a gift card for this place from my Army base so I decided to give it another go because this is the only On the Border in my area. It was a huge mistake I see now. I walk into the restaurant at about 330-340 it is at about a 20% capacity. But for some reason it takes us 5-10 minutes before someone comes over to seat us. We are seated and its another few minutes before we see our waitress at this point its 350 and we want to order lunch (which ends at 4pm) the waitress tells us that because the food takes 12 minutes to cook we can no longer order lunch so I tell her that we will eat somewhere else she laughs and says "ok bye". Way to go On the Border, what a way to treat a veteran on Memorial Day weekend. I cannot really comment on food here because I have yet to be served from this place.

Service, what service? We got seated within a minute of entering the door once the hostess realized somebody had come in. We waited over 15 minutes at a table for a server to stop and while tables all around us got orders placed, drinks filled, etc, we were ignored. The table on one side of us got both their drink and food orders taken, with the waiter having to practically sidestep my daughters chair at our table, yet he never said a word to us. The table on the other side had a server drop multiple glasses into one of the (thankfully empty) child seats in their stroller (triplets), so while 3 people could work at trying to get ice, etc. out of that, we still sat there without a single word being said to us. After over 15 minutes worth of waiting, we finally had a disinterested waitress stop by to ask if anybody had taken our orders yet. We said no, and ordered our drinks and asked about getting cheese dip, and anticipated going ahead and ordering our entrees since we had our menus closed sitting in front of us. I tried to ask her a question about the white vs. yellow and got no response from her, other than her wandering off without saying a single word. At this point we just got up and left because were not even sure if she heard anything we had asked for, and it was just beyond frustrating at that point.
