I have been to Osaka a few times and each experience has ranged from mediocre to unpleasant. Until now. Last night was appalling. With the exception of the entertaining hibachi chef and good fried rice (which he obviously prepared), this place is a trainwreck. From the lack of atmosphere, to the service staff that doesnt want to be there, to the tasteless and arguably spoiled sushi rolls, Im honestly surprised this place still exists. However, by far the worst part of the evening was the customer service, which was reminiscent of Dave Chapelles painfully funny bad customer service skit. Our server, who looked stressed and scared the entire night, told us during our dinner that she had been singled out by the manager as a "stupid American girl" four times during her shift before she had even taken our table. We had asked to sit in the Hibachi area because the couple we were dining with were interested in getting food other than sushi - they ended up changing their minds but I ordered fried rice to warrant us being there (in the past they have tacked on $2 service fees onto everyones tabs for sitting in the Hibachi area - they did not this time). My friends fiancé ordered the Bubba Roll without mayo because she is allergic - they brought her the roll with mayo. After sending it back, the manager told his server to simply "scrape it off." They eventually complied and remade the order. I ordered the Carrollton Roll and Spider Roll. My rolls were inedible - they didnt taste good or even fresh. I ended up bringing this to the attention of the manager who after shirking off my complaint told me that "maybe I had eaten too much." I didnt even eat half of my order. He said that it was fresh and that he eats it every day. He then proceeded to quiz me on what I had ordered because he obviously did not believe I knew what a Spider Roll was.. No apologies, no credit, nothing. Our server was obviously frazzled because she was the only server in the restaurant, and she later disappeared. When we went to pay, we asked the manager where she had gone, and he said that she was sick and left. Yes, she was sick of being ridiculed by you. Attention Carrollton - this establishment is not only customer-unfriendly, its racist. Do not go here. Do yourself a favor and support an establishment that not only makes good sushi but is nice to its patrons. If you are wanting good, authentic Japanese food, go to Tokyo or even Honk Kong but dont waste your money here. I know I wont.

I wish I could give this place a zero!! To begin with it smelled funny in main entrance. Once seated. All tables were full. Once waitress came, she took our drink order. Delivers drinks and she explained that there were only two waitresses and only Two cooks? Ok??? So we ask how long it will be? She said I will find out and took our order. We sit there looking around and come to realize no one is eating, REALLY?? She finally comes back and we ask again how long it will be? is there more people coming in? What is the deal? We start to do the math and ask how long it takes to cook for one table. Im guessing a good 20 mins. So basically we would be waiting for at least 3 hours to just be started. I politely told her, Oh no!!! We will not be waiting, as the other family seated with us agreeded. She said well let me check and she came back a couple of minutes later and said well I will get you a bill for the drinks!!!! We havent even taken 2 sips. REALLY??? Come on this is a joke right?? The waitress didnt even know her bosses name. This is very sad for an establishment to be like this. To top it off it was Mothers Day!! So Happy Mothers Day to me

Best Hibachi Within 50 Miles My wife loves this this place and frankly, so do I. I was never the biggest fan of Asian type food until my wife made me eat at Hibachi type restaurants several times. It took to warming up to but over the years I have come to like it a lot. Since my wife has drug me to numerous different Hibachi type restaurants over the years I can safely say that Osaka is among the best. I have been here about six or seven times and I have always been pleased with the service and food. The cooks are always funny and do a great job and the wait staff is friendly. The only reason I give this an overall rating of 4 instead of 5 is because of the atmosphere. There is just something off about it I cannot put my finger on. It is not dirty or anything, I just think they could use a remodeling or something. If the restaurant is not full then it almost has a depressing feel to it, and there has been a few times I have been when there were only 3 or 4 other people there eating. Overall I would defiantly recommend this to someone who is looking for some well prepared Japanese Food.

THE ABSOLUTE WORST RESTAURANT!!!!!!! The food was awful! The bathrooms were squalid at best. The general cleanliness of the entire location was, in short, disgusting! The service was pitiful as our server was more than just absent minded but totally absent. When we had question about an order, the Chinese (Not Japanese - Id know since I lived there) who was quite condescending let me know as a native born person that if I didnt under stand he would read the menu to me cause "this is America!". REALLY???? Last time I checked, Charlie No-Green Card, who was not born here wants to be rude to me and claim I havent an idea about my own country when hes a visitor and attempt to school me about Japanese food when hes Chinese? If you want some modicum of palatable sushi, go over to Kroger. SAVE YOUR MONEY, SANITY AND TIME, DONT GO TO THIS DUMP!!!!!

How very interesting, these reviews. I learned to eat sushi at the hands of a man from Okinawa; he had actually trained to become a Sushi Master. Yes, art form is still revered in some places! From that time, to this, Osaka in Carrollton, GA has been the closest Ive found to this Masters sushi house; the food, excellent, the service, excellent ... Ive never been disappointed. If you want traditional fare? This is an excellent place to find it. If you want the sanitized, Americanized version, where you pay for and get "fast sushi?" Go somewhere else. I no longer live in Georgia ... when Im here to visit? I still make a point to go there, and the experience is still as good as ever it has been.

Ive been there before and the manager got in a yelling argument in front of the whole restaurant with a customer and talked about "taking things outside." And today I ordered to go and the manager was very pushy and rude on the phone while I was ordering like he was trying to get me off the phone. It was no more than a 2 minute conversation. When I finally got there it took a while to get my food and when I did he sarcastically told me to grab a to go menu so that I could know what I wanted before I called. I will not be back.
