I read fellow reviewers comments about Flip Burger are overall the reviews are excellent, with just a few hit or miss comments. I was concerned that we could get stale buns or a bad experience, but you dont know until you go. With that said...today was the day to try it. The location On Howell Mill is industrial and if I hadnt looked at the pictures before going, I would have missed it. It does seem out of place here...but thats just an observation. It was a busy lunch crowd but the noise level wasnt bad at all. The place is very European in style, like visiting an IKEAs cafeteria. Clean? Yes. Very. A little overkill in the sterile department, yes, but I prefer that to nasty - Ha! Its obvious the owner loves a clean shop and this is restaurant was definitively clean. I loved the cement floors too. Nice touch. The bar...very long wood, covered in urethane and very clean. The reason for going, the food, so let me get to it. We started off with their potato chips with root beer onion dip on a reviewers recommendation. I was a little concerned as onions dont like me. I can state, the reviewer was correct and the onions were not an issue. This dip is actually on the sweet side and puréed; outstanding, just outstanding. I could have devoured the entire bowl on my own. I went for the RBQ and my date, the double stack. I ordered my RBQ medium-rare and it was cooked correctly. The shredded brisket, slaw, and smoked mayo all flowed so well together it was hard to put the burger down and come up for air! The buns? Lightly grilled and fresh! The double stack was the same. They were both very tender and juicy, so-much-so, that the juices were running down our hands. We also had to try the fries and were not disappointed at all. They were delicious. They were served with a side of ketchup and again, smoked mayo. The flavor of the smoked mayo made the fries sing for me. Side note. They have ice cold PBR 16oz cans, and when poured into a frozen glass...man thats good on a hot summer day in the ATL. Our service was very good too. Alejandro waited on us. She was sweet but more important, attentive. They dont give military discounts but the prices arent bad for the quality of the food youre receiving. If we werent so full, we would have tried a shake. Next time...The Turtle.

I went there yesterday (10.9.2009) with a large group from work. I paid $11 dollars for the "Farm" burger. It was cooked well and tasted ok, but I cant say I was blown away by the burger. Or that it was worth $11 bucks. The burger as presented was about 4 or 5 inches tall - to tall to eat as a burger. Some of us cut our burgers with knives and forks so it could be eaten, others had to squish the burger to flatten it out so it could fit in our mouths. The menu had some interesting items on it such as the fois gras burger at a staggering price tag of $39 dollars. I can tell you that if Im going to order fois gras, I would never order it on a bun at this place. The fries were a whopping $3.50, the portion size was small, and the look and taste was completely average. The wait staff was the typical snotty, young and trendy type, but the waitress we had did do a good job. Im just not a fan of that attitude as it does nothing to enhance the dining experience for me personally. Id much rather be greeted with a smile on a happy person than someone who appears to be put off by the fact that she had to wait on us. The taste of the burger was slightly above average, and the presentation of the food was poor, considering the price. At these prices I was expecting a bit more. This place may do well over time as the trendiness aspect may carry it along for a while. But the cost of the food, the quality of the meal, the portion sizes, combined with the (lack of) presentation of the food ensures I will not be going back. Of the 10 of us that went there yesterday, only one said theyd go back. Id be willing to pay $15 bucks for burger and fries any day and regularly (I dine out a lot) if the food was worth the money. Here, is it not. This restaurant is definitely 95% flash and 5% substance.

*** Employee mentioned in this review added his own tip to my receipt!! Spoke to GM 2 weeks ago & was supposed to have money refunded. Money still has not been refunded and I am contacting police now because GM will no longer respond to messages!*** ONLY EAT HERE IF YOU WANT TO SPEND SOME QUALITY TIME IN THE BATHROOM AND THROW AWAY MONEY. Went on a Sunday morning, they couldnt make a bloody mary so I had a black widow that tasted like black licorice. Ordered poutine and only had 5 cheese curds and was more like chili cheese fries drowned in the "gravy". Ordered a burger on special and BCB. They use pre-made patties that arent very good. Waiter spilled my drink all over the table. My burger was oozing grease. Waiter kept disappearing and was exceptionally rude. We spent more time waiting for him than eating our food. Ordered garlic bacon fries that were just smeared with crushed garlic making them inedible even for this garlic lover. Also ordered sweet potato tots that were so sweet they were also inedible. Only made it through a couple bites of burgers, fries and tots and did NOT take them to go. Guinness was also flat. In total threw $60 in the toilet. Save your money and eat elsewhere! Also music was so loud I couldnt hear my husband a foot away from me. Seems its not in a good area either because all we were greeted by in the parking lot was security cameras and huge signs saying secure vehicles, belongings and they arent responsible for anything. 4 days later and my stomach is just now becoming "soothed".

First I LOVE the burgers. My first time we had a very nice waitress who knew how to be polite and friendly and came by several times to make sure we were doing well. But last night I went there and had a different waitress who was "polite" but not as friendly. She didnt come over to check on us, or ask if we needed anything else. She only came to take the orders and deliver the food. She gave me my burger and I ordered the burger with avocado. She missed the avocado in my order, so I told her politely and she acted like it was fine and she would fix the mistake. She came back with a plate of a few small pieces of avocado. I didnt complain, I was just happy to get the avocado. But when the check arrived she charged me extra for the "extra avocado" when it was originally supposed to come with it in the first place. I felt it was unfair because she was the one who made the mistake, yet I had to still pay for her mistake? Didnt make sense. I paid the bill and left. Now aside from that the burgers are tastey. The only thing Id recommend to Flip Burger, is either lowering their prices or having a deal where if you order a certain burger it comes with fries or something. The burgers are small like the size of my palm (Im a girl so my palm isnt that large). If you go to any other place you get a lot more meat in the burger, and fries that come with it, with a pickle and coleslaw. Here you need to order everything separate if you want a side.
