Living in Athens while going to UGA, my wife, our friends, and I ate here a LOT (along with their shop on the east side - not sure if it is still there.) We tried several other places in town for Chinese food, but always came back to Peking. Now that we live on the other side of the country, we only come back to the area to see family every so often. But in our travel plans, we always budget time to make it to Peking at least once every trip. Not a single time have we ever been disappointed. The hot and sour soup is spot on, like most always - I have yet to find a restaurant that makes it this good. (There have been a couple of times over the plethora of our visits where it was not so good.) The Mongolian beef is the best Ive had here - again not finding any places that make it this good. We also had the Peking fried rice - excellent, as always, vegetable lo mein, vegetable cho mein, and sweet and sour chicken. We were all very full, very happy, and not out a lot of money. Still reasonable priced after all these years. Trying to budget another evening in Athens to make it back once more on this trip.

I ordered delivery today..I ordered Mongolian Scallops they were so overcooked they were the consistency of rubber I could not eat them I called the restaurant to see if I could get something else delivered. They said I would have to pay a deliver charge for this. I explained that I gave them the $15.00 cash that I had and was getting something cheaper anyways. They decided to return my money instead and that I could keep the food. When they arrived the guy hands me $10.00 I told him I gave $15.00 HELL THE BILL WAS OVER $11.00. THEN HE PROCEEDED TO ASK FOR THE FOOD AS WELL. I TOLD HIM THEY SAID I COULD KEEP IT. HE STATED HE NEEDED IT BACK. So I dug it out of the trash for him to return.So now they are not only keeping my $5.00 they are also leaving me without lunch or enough funds to get more elsewhere WOW. So disappointed right now. I could be a happy customer but they failed at this chance. I just paid $5.00 to have my lunch ruined.

We have been eating at Peking for over 9 years now. It is our favorite chinese restaurant, hands down!!! Sometimes we go in for the buffet and sometimes we go in and order off of the menu. Either way, we always leave happy. They have excellent high quality food, the (very affordable) price has never changed and we always get great service. We only go about once a month, but they even remember what each of us likes to drink. The owner always comes to our table to speak to us and talk to our son. She makes sure to get him some chop sticks to play with and a sucker when we leave. You wont find better Peking chicken anywhere!! Plus they have sushi now, which we all love. And most importantly, it is clean. You really cant go wrong with this restaurant. We drive almost 40 minutes to get there and it is always well worth it.

Ive only been to the lunch buffet, but Id say this is the best Chinese food in Athens. Ive had the egg drop soup, egg rolls, Broccoli and Beef, Mongolian Beef, Sesame Chicken, General Tsos Chicken, lo mein, and Peking Chicken. I wasnt really impressed with the lo mein or General Tsos Chicken, but everything else was great. The chicken is also white meat chicken and good quality. If youre going to go to the buffet, Id go on any other day but Sunday if possible. Its much busier. Lots of families with loud children, and it seems like its a couple of dollars more per person on Sunday compared to last time I went or the price of the buffet has recently changed.

Absolutely unbelievable (for all the wrong reasons)! Every dish that we ordered we were utterly disappointed with. To top that off, we ordered the "CRISPY DUCK", waited for about 30 minutes and what we got was cleary a steamed duck. When I told the manager that we ordered the crispy duck, he simply replied to us that this is the crispy duck without any guilt. Trust me guys, I have no clue how the ratings of Peking are good and it is in your best interests to stay far clear from this establishment. It is simply not worth your penny.

The food is fresh, the perfect temperature, and it tastes absolutely great. During dinner hours, I was served a kettle of oolong tea at my table and it was delicious. Service was prompt and friendly. Beautiful classical music played at a low volume during my experience. The value is great, too - they give a lot of food per entree and ample rice, so its at least two meals. Im new to Athens, and this is sure to be my go-to place for Chinese!

Favorite Chinese restaurant hands down. Been coming here for years and have recommended to everyone. Best hot and sour soup Ive ever had. Lunch buffet is delicious and they keep everything refilled and hot. Sesame, General Tsos chicken, and other breaded chicken is tender and not stringy, "hard," etc, like many placed. Same thing for the mongolian beef. If you know your Chinese restaurants, you should know what I mean. Just great overall.

Im just going to save you the trouble before coming here. Dont eat here. Save your money. Food quality is poor, for example dry chicken and in order for them to keep it moist they throw BBQ sauce on it, the hot and sour does not even taste like hot and sour, theres no fried rice there and Im pretty sure I saw nothing close to it. I could go on but then this post would be considered a novel. P.s the egg drop soup is white.

I just ordered take out. I have never had such fresh Chinese food and I have been to China. This place is Really good. The Egg Drop soup is one of the best i have ever had. There was meat in the soup, Awesome! I got the curry chicken and was really happy with it. The guy who delivered is was cool. Overall best take out I have ever had. It was a little pricey but thats ok its still a really good value. Very big portions.

My family and I have been coming here since I was a kid and when Im in the mood for a Chinese buffet, there is nowhere else that I would rather go. They offer an incredible variety of delicious options. A highly underrated dish that is one of my favorites is the fried wonton. If you like spicy foods, get some chili sauce from the sushi bar and try dipping your wonton in the chili sauce. Its top notch!

The service started out very slow, and they didnt get our order correct. We wanted fried rice on one dinner, instead of steamed. Having waited quite a while, we just took it as is, because the waiter was nowhere to be found. The food was pretty good though. Definitely better than anywhere else I found in Athens, but subpar for good americanized Chinese food.

This is probably the closest thing youd find in athens =) Very delicious if you know what to order. Try their Sesame Chicken, Peking Beef, Triple Crown, Triple Delicacy, Hot&Sour Soup, Chicken Wings as Appetizer as well. My gf and I are UGA students and were seniors now. So weve been going there for 4 years whenever we crave Chinese food. Pretty darn good =)
