Im not a big fan of sit down Chinese food. I tend to favor several good Chinese buffets in the area however I decided to give the Golden Lily a try. I was more than pleasantly surprised. I havent had Chinese food quite this good since China Gate went out of business over a decade ago. I had almost forgotten what great egg rolls taste like. A huge role filled with cabbage, veggies and good size shrimp. With a crispy thin-crust....you can even cut it with a fork. Next came the hot and sour soup which had a delicious hint of sesame and just enough heat to make it interesting! The entree was equally as good. I had the Mongolian beef with extra spice and it did not disappoint. The beef was tender and juicy and the sauce was just perfect! Overall I would rate this restaurant as one of the best Chinese places I have ever eaten. The only other traditional Chinese restaurant in town that comes close is Jing Chuan on Secor rd. I cant attest to what the service will be like for dinner because I had lunch there. The service was very good but it was not busy. I Have No Reservations recommending this restaurant for Chinese food fans!

We used to eat at the Golden Lily when it was in downtown Toledo. I moved from the Toledo area 39 years ago and came through the area again this week and found the Golden Lily in a new area of South Toledo. My wife remembered the Sweet and Sour dish having Strawberries in it as well as other fruits and vegetables so she ordered it again this time and it had strawberries and all of the other goodies in it as she remembered it. I had the Mongolian Beef and it was delicious! The flavors of both dishes are so fresh and flavorable. The Golden Lily is an original Toledo Chinese Restaurant and has been owned for at least 3-4 generations of the Loo Family and it continues to have the best Chinese Food in the Toledo Area. We have lived all over the country including the Pacific Rim where Chinese Food was very common and I can say it does not compare to the Golden Lily. We enjoyed our visit and the food tonight very much and I urge everyone to try the Golden Lily and you will certainly return. Remember I came back after 39 years.

Never going back here again. I dont need an obnoxious owner or a snotty waitress making snide remarks about how much food I order or how much my coworkers and I eat. Mind your own damn business. If you dont want people to eat then dont have a restaurant. How dare anyone in a RESTAURANT make a remark about how much someone eats. I wonder if they would complain about someone having too many alcoholic beverages? My coworkers and I go into a restaurant to eat, not sit there. Turn the lights on, dont serve us half frozen egg rolls, put the heat on, and keep your mouth shut about the amount ANYONE eats. We paid our bills, its not like we walked out without paying. Next time, we will go to a buffet because we go to lunch to EAT. Not sure what the problem was with a group of men having a meal but they OBVIOUSLY dont want people eating. Horrendous.

I cant complain a bit about my experience at Golden Lily. I just moved to the area, and being the closest Chinese restaurant to where I live, they got first dibs. Their prices were fairly reasonable (expect $9-$12 for dinner), the wait staff was attentive, and the food was amazing. I had the Mapo Doufu (Ma Poo Dow Foo on their menu, I believe), and ordered it extra spicy - they delivered with both taste and heat. I have other Chinese restaurants in the area to try yet, but I will certainly be back to this one to see what else they have to offer.

By far the greatest chinese food in Toledo / Surrounding area. EggRolls are superb and Moo Goo Gai Pan is 10/10! Even though this place is farther away than the old downtown location, driving extra just makes it that more satisfying. Quality 10/10 Pricing 8/10 Service 10/10

The most crappiest Chinese food ever. The egg rolls smell like cinnamon and tasted weird. The sweet and sour chicken was horrible. I was traveling from NY and I absolutely do not recommend. Save your money and go somewhere else!

This is probably the worst restaurant ever! My Lo Mein was old, stuck together, 3 pcs of meat, I thought it was chicken but not sure. The soup had a strange after taste, I am hoping I dont get sick tonight. Couldnt eat it.

So happy the Golden Lily has opened again! After so many decades in downtown Toledo they were truly missed by me. The Sweet and Sour Shrimp and Pork fried rice are unmatched in this city! You must try it
