We arrived on an evening where the staff were overwhelmed. It wasnt that busy, but they only had two wait staff servicing the restaurant, and they were clearly not coping. Our food took over an hour to arrive. Traditionally, the various Indian curry dishes have their own "hotness". For example, a Khorma is always very mild, a Madras is usually a medium strength curry, a Vindaloo is a hot curry and Phal is extremely hot. For this reason, I always find it strange when Indian restaurants in the U.S. ask what strength you would like your dish. However, being as I wanted a Khorma, which is an extremely mild dish, I asked for it as a strength of 1 out of 5. My girlfriend had a Massala (another traditionally mild dish) as a strength 2. While my Khorma was indeed quite mild (although hotter than it should be), my girlfriends dish was insanely hot. I dread to think what a 5 would be like if that was a 2! Upon complaining about this when we finally managed to get the waiters attention, he said that he would bring some yoghurt to tone it down. The yoghurt arrived about twenty minutes later, by which time I had finished my dish and the third member of our party had given up on his and put it aside. The yoghurt didnt help with calming down the curry, and the dish was by now well and truly cold anyway. We just wanted out of the place by then. Just to add insult to injury, we found that when the bill arrived, they had made no concession for the inedible meal, and charged full price. $75 for three meals, of which one was actually consumed. Needless to say, we wont be returning.

Bombay Flames is hands down the best Indian food in Atlanta! Truly a diamond in the rough and so unassuming that you would never suspect the level of quality in each dish from the outside of the restaurant. However, once you sit down and taste the richness and delicate complexity of the incredible flavors, you will quickly agree that no other Indian restaurant in ATL comes even close. I have been there twice now (to make sure the first time wasnt a fluke) and I highly recommend Bombay Flames to any passionate foody or Indian food fan. Not surprisingly, I learned the chef and owner cooked in India at the Taj hotel and even cooked for Bill Clinton when he visited India. On top of the Food, the service was stellar. Our waiter was Leo who had worked at the Grand Hyatt for 20 years before coming to Bombay Flames and he really sets a high service bar that most restaurants would struggle to achieve. Excellent food, unbelievable service, and very affordable - thank you Bombay Flames for a delicious culinary experience and for being my new favorite Indian restaurant in ATL.

Was in the area and looked for nearby Indian restraunts. wanted to goto Madras Chettinad/Krishna vilaas, but decided to try bombay flames out. The attitude of the servers was not good. One tried to be too friendly in order to get tipped better, and the other lady was indifferent, and by her attitude seems she was stuck in this job. We ordered chat papdi, which was the only saviour of the meal. Excessive use of artificial colours in butter chicken, and the chicken was stiff (read old, greyed out from inside). I mean a regular chain like say chick fill-a serves better chicken. Sorry to say I am never going back again.

I really enjoy their lunch buffet. While it is not huge in variety everything is amazing! I love the sauces they have but wish they would add a tomato chutney and have papadom . Most of the dishes have a nice spice kick to them for a buffet. They also change some off the side dishes so if you go often its not too repetitive. When ordering off the menu they really can crank up the heat if asked. Be sure to check this place out. The customer service we receive is always nice and willing to help guide people who are not familiar with the dishes. Recommended

Bombay flames has the Best Indian Food in Alpharetta! Chef Sandeep does an amazing providing a variety of entrees for vegans, vegetarians and those that enjoy meat. The food is flavorful and Chef Sandeep is always available to answer questions about the food on the buffet. There is no where in Atlanta where you can enjoy a buffet for under $10 with amazing service too. Ive gone on the weekday and weekends with my daughters and each time was so impressed. Oh and the fried cauliflower is the best I have ever had! You will absolutely enjoy this restaurant.

Yesterday me and my wife went to Bombay flames for dinner. Chicken biriyani we ordered was pathetic and it looked like Chicken fried rice. Taste was neither like biryani or fried rice. Chicken 65 was crispy enough but was tasteless (felt like raw chicken was fried without salt and spices) Butter chicken was just average. Above all these the prices are too high and not worthy enough. One good thing about this place is the service and the atmosphere. Overall I would not recommend this place.

Good food and service. Was pleased to see that they were very willing to refill buffet even when we went near closing time. I know of some restaurants that are not too happy about that. Not here. They gladly refilled all the short dishes. Food was well cooked although a bit oily (but thats par for the course for Indian restaurant food). And price was really reasonable !!! $8 bucks for buffet is darn good. Will visit again when the palate craves for some food from the homeland....

I dont know if I just got unlucky but the food was horrible. Read the reviews and decided to give them a try. Sunday evening takeout. Looks like the food was not cooked by a chef, just some newbie trying to learn cooking. Way too Oily, way way spicy..I ordered medium spicy and just had to junk all the food after a couple bites. Tried reaching the restaurant but could not get through. Not returning again!

This is my new favorite place. They offer a spicy scale of 1 - 5 which I like, as often it can be hard to communicate desired spice level to other establishments. The food was excellent (we ordered from the menu) and their garlic naan was notably special. Cant wait to go back and try some of the other dishes on the menu. Hats off to the owner who seems to be personally overseeing a great establishment.

Decent menu. Decent price. Decent customer service. This place is run by a chef who used to be the chef at the famous Taj hotel in Mumbai, India. His recipe is delightful and mild compared to other Indian restaurants in the area. Typically, Indian restaurants use heavy baking soda to make you feel stuffy after you eat. You will notice that Bombay Flames does not use baking soda.

This is my favorite place to eat in Alpharetta, I literally eat there 3 times a week. Their buffet is amazing with lots of vegetarian options , and its 10$ after tax and everything. its the best deal ever. The owners are also so nice, and service it great. very recommended. I also had dinner multipile times there, and I had nothing but great experience every time I am there.

$6.99 weekday lunch buffet. Very tasty with a mix of spicy and not so spicy. Its not a massive buffet but it offers more than enough of a variety. Food is often replenished and the polite waiter is good at refilling your water cup and taking your plate. They usually have one or two dishes that change from week to week which is good. You cant beat this price.
