This is possibly the worse Chinese food I have ever had.... EVER. Having Chinese at the mall food court would be a step up from this place. Ordered Kung Pao Chicken which is listed on the menu as "spicy hot" also got Sesame Chicken and Crab Rangoon and 2 egg rolls. The egg rolls and Crab Rangoon were passable (probably because they were frozen and manufactured instead of made in the restaurant) The Kung Pao Chicken listed as spicy hot. It had absolutely no spice (or flavor for that matter) of any degree. The chicken had the consistency of dried rubber and likewise was tasteless. Based on the consistency of the chicken (flaky and tasteless) it seemed like it had precooked and then steamed to keep it warm before it was prepared in the dish thus had no chicken flavor at all. The sauce on the dish was a thin pale sauce with a slight peanut and garlic flavor. The Sesame Chicken likewise had a very thin sauce (tasted like someone had bought Sesame Sauce at the local grocery store and then added water to make it stretch to use in more servings.) Thin watery sauce and the fried chicken (used in the Sesame Chicken) also had little flavor, at least it had more than the Kung Pao, but not much. Still it was a poor excuse for this menu item. The good reviews were from years back. Recent ones (except for the "guest") are all the same blah. I used to get chinese at a local place on Oakland that closed. Tried Lotus to my dismay and disgust.

Ive been eating at the Lotus Kitchen since I moved down here in 1985. I remember going without their delicious meals for over a year while they were closed due to a fire, And the night they reopened, taking my neighbor Selma in for dinner as shed missed it more than I. You see Selma remembered her first meal on another opening night years earlier. If youre looking for value, pleasant surroundings, friendly staff, and an excellent meal then this is the place. A true family business!

I LOVE this place and have been eating here for about 4 years now. NOBODY beats their orange beef, its crispy spicy and sweet, and doesnt taste like orange rind, and is served with rice, NOT in a bed of iceberg lettuce!!!!! (I have yet to find another place that serves it like they do!) Its just soooo good! Lotus IS the best! And the staff is friendly, and the service pretty fast! I get takeout here about once a week!

Chinese food is my favorite dish. Lotus Kitchen is my favorite choice for consistency. Their prices are more then fair for their good size orders. My personal favorites are their wonton soup, eggplant and chicken in garlic sauce, orange beef, cashew chicken, and sweet and sour chicken. My girlfriend really likes their walnet chicken. All in all a great meal and friendly workers! Second best is Christina Wons.

For a local Chinese restaurant, they are great!! Very clean, good service, a nice neighborhood place. Their food is a nice selection of classic(and some more upscale) Chinese Cantonese cuisine. And still a very fairly priced menu. The owners are more concerned of the service and food, not just their wallets!! Love supporting a longtime local business/neighbor

Come on people its a good priced chinese place no one is gettingauthentic chinese, if you really are that picky go to P.F. Changs. At Lotus the Ginger Garlic Chicken is fantastic and you can order a side of fried rice for like $4 and its 4 serving. Its good and clean you can see the people cooking and the fish tank is pretty :)

After dinner and dishes cleared we were drinking tea. Waiter leans across our entire table and refills item twice as we are talking. Never excusing his self. Then stood behind us as if we were taking up space. Quite ignorant and uncomfortable. . It was 845 at night..friend did not tip he asked why and she replied your rude.

Well... after I managed to guess 80 percent of what the cashier was saying about the menu. I ended up ordering a Chicken Chow Mei. Big was my surprise when the dish came with no more that 5 tiny shreds of chicken mixed in a whole bowl of semifried onions and some bean sprouts... Seriously..This is the ultimate food scam.

Have enjoyed the food at Lotus since they opened. It is a local, neighborhood restaurant serving reasonably-priced, quality food with friendly owners and staff. Always a pleasure to dine there.

Been going here for over three years and not once had an issue. It costs a tad more than most places but it is worth it for the service and quality. My kids love it, wife loves it, and so do I.

My favorite Chinese hideaway in the area. Make sure you try their Orange Beef & their version of General Tao Chicken. Both will leave you rubbing your belly and smiling as you leave.

Expensive, .....even compared to more upscale Chinese restaurants. OK in a pinch. No major complaints, except nothing to write home to mother about. No plans to go back again.
