This is one review that is very difficult to write. When I first began working in Tampa (Town & Country) I did a web search for Pizza, and found Tomato Joes. After reading the reviews, which seemed good, I decided to try them myself. I ordered a pepperoni pizza to be delivered to my office, in a corporate center about 10-minutes away from the pizzeria. The pizza was delivered promptly, and was nice & hot, and very delicious. Now we come to today, about two weeks since I first ordered from them. I was trying to get some extra time in, and not go out for lunch, in order to get a jump on the weekend traffic in Tampa (its Friday.) So, I decided to get another delivery from Tomato Joes. I even circulated a couple of their menus among my colleagues, in case anyone wanted to get-in on my delivery order. Fortunately, as it turns out, there were no takers. At about noon I phoned the pizzeria and placed my order for a large 1/2 pepperoni pizza. I gave them my credit card#, my office phone & extension, and was told that the pie would be delivered in about 45 minutes. The 45 -minutes came & went, but beings that it was Friday I figured that was understandable - they seemed pretty busy when I had phoned. After a while I went outside to see if the delivery person was around - possibly looking for the office entrance or something. No sign of them. Returning to my office, I took a very brief call from my girlfriend and then went back out to look for the delivery person. I saw a younger guy, with a pizza bag, walking OUT the front door for the building! So I ran down the steps (Im on the 2nd floor) and out to the parking lot and caught him just as he was backing out of the spot. He told me that he had "called and called" my phone and that Id never answered. I told him that Id been there all along. He accused me of providing the WRONG EXTENSION. I asked him how long hed been there and he said "about 15 minutes" (a lie, because Id gone out and looked for him.) I then refused delivery of what was now surely a cold pizza. At that point, this kid got very rude and snotty with me, calling me "Stupid" (in front of several of my coworkers) and yelling at me to "try giving the right extension next time!" He neednt worry about that, because there will not be a "Next Time". If someone like that worked for me and represented the public face of my restaurant, Id fire him so fast that it would send him back in time. That said, I have fired "Tomato Joes". BTW - some of the people who witnessed the behavior of TJs delivery juggernaut were also among the people that Id circulated menus to earlier. Its doubtful that they will be ordering from there any time soon. What a disgrace.

Ordered pizza tonight for the first time. I was a little hesitant about ordering delivery, given the multitude of negative comments online about delivery experiences - so I called in for pick up. There was a special going on - $8.99 for a large pizza, so I didnt have much to lose. I am from NJ (right outside of NYC) and like NY-style pizza over any kind of "chain." I normally order Westshore, as it has been the closest thing available here in TNC. I figured Id try this out. Went in to get my pie and the owner (?) was exceptionally friendly and personable. Got the pizza home, and - hmm. It wasnt bad, and it wasnt OUTSTANDING. First, the positive: the crust is fantastic. Really good. Thin, chewy, but with a crispness that Westshores crust lacks. I was really happy with the crust. The negative? The sauce was bland. I do like Westshores sauce. It is sufficiently "tomatoey." Id have thought Tomato Joes claim to fame wouldve been the sauce, given the name of the place. Not so much. Its quite possible I caught them on an off-night, seasoning-wise. I will absolutely try them again. The pie was a good value - and the crust was excellent, even if the sauce lacked a bit of flavor.

I use to order from them all the time.. but i had a terrible experience... I ordered a pizza a received it plastered within the box... The delivery driver just took off with the money saying call the store they will send you another one.. (Didnt even bother to ask me if i wanted change) So after waiting additional time (who knows starving at the point) the driver finally arrived but with a smaller sized pizza pie that I paid for.. I called the store and spoke with the owner.. Advised him of size difference n complaint about driver keeping my change..(which the store took the money from the driver already) It seemed that the stealing of change and difference of price in pies wasnt like something very important because his company is busy... ***Regardless how busy you are, you should tend to you customers that always order from you.. because if you keep loosing your customers like you lost me... you wont be busy no more***

I never got to try the food - because they would not pick up their phone. I wanted to place a pick up order and ask a question about their menu - on a Monday afternoon, not a busy time. I tried calling five seperate times and their line was NOT busy any of the times I called. It rang clearly on all five of my attempts. They simply refuse to answer a call and will let it ring over and over again. After purusing the reviews I see that I am not the only one with this complaint. Incredibly unprofessional. Dont run a business if you refuse to answer a customers phone call.

Im new in town and I was craving pizza from home (NYC) and they have the closest in smell and taste. Close or not, they have great pizza, good people, and you cant beat the price. Dont waste your money on franchise chains, they have nothing on these folks here. Come support them, local, delicious, and easy on the pocket.

Went there with my son while the guys down the street at Wheel Tec (who did a great job) were putting new wheels on my sons car. Asked them where to eat... Without a doubt the BEST Pizza Ive had since moving down here from New York in 1986. Cant wait for my next slice.

How are they even open and paying their bills??? I tried calling for a hour and not once did they pick up! I would say poor customer service but there was no service to even score poor.. Dont waste your time trying to call and order. You will die of starvation.
