I do not recommend any people of color to go to this ice cream shop and get ice cream I just went there to take my four kids to get some ice cream for doing good in school this caucasian lady refer to me as you people because she got the ice cream worrys that my , daughter wanted did the young girl came to the window I thought I asked her for the supervisor phone number she going to tell me his name is John he stay around the corner and then go to tell me shes going to ask me to leave I thought I told her it was very disrespectful for you guys to say you people dont know what you want when these are little kids thats trying to order kids that was trying to order then this guy on the side of us going to jump in and talk about hes a correction officer which he aint got nothing to do with the situation then she going to call about or I will call the police go call the police because you some races as people they think every person has colors supposed to get scared when you say youre going to call the police but I recommend any person of color not to buy any ice cream from the shop Im going to put this all over Facebook and Instagram for no one to get ice cream from them since they want to use the word you people savoury days been over with... so if youre African-American please do not eat from the shop do not spend your money here since my kids couldnt get the ice cream and these are little kids thats trying to order ice cream for having a good day in school I took them to get ice cream from this location

Ive been to this place 3 times now. While the prices are very good & the ice cream is good, I always seem to somehow have a bad experience. They are SO slow & not friendly at all. And all 3 times Ive been there, there has been so many bees around that everyone is squirming & running trying to save their ice cream. Today, I waited on line for 15 min to get our ice cream. Before my daughter could even take a bite, a huge bee landed in her hot fudge and was stuck in there. She was screaming. No one there missed the incident:) So we threw it out since there was a bee stuck in her ice cream, and I got in the back of the line to get another sundae. I waited 20 min, and the lady working didnt offer to replace the sundae for free (after I explained what happened). Not that I cared about the additional $3.50, but come on, customer service is very lacking there. So rude. Will not be returning.

Today, i went to this location because my coworkers said that it was better than bos ice cream. So, i thought that i would give it a try. When i arrived the server was in the back reading some information and looked at me, but never came foward to take my order. At first, i thought that she did not see, but she looked up, again and went back to reading. After waiting for four minutes at the window, i just gave up and decided to go to another place that would be happy to take my order. I can honestly say, i will never come back to try the milk shakes.

Looked like a cool little dive place. The lady that waited on us was not real friendly (big deal, right? It gets worse) So as were browsing the menu we observe her stick her hand in the M&M jar and grab a few to munch on. (Seriously lady, get a spoon-dont stick your nasty hand in there!). We placed our order making sure we avoided the M&Ms. After we exchanged money we noticed she didnt wash her hands before waiting on the next customer, additionally, we noticed that milk was sitting out on the counter with the cap off. Kinda nasty...

I have been going to dairy joy for over 16 years.. Since i was in middle school.. Great service and even better ice-cream... Ok they get very busy especially summer months.. weekends and after school time.. So what tables can be alittle sticky.. Customers need to do their part and clean up after themselves... Should not just fall on owner... Dairy joy only takes cash..its a good thing cuz credit card and debit is are more of a headache... Dairy joy will always be my south Tampa spot... Love them

Ice cream is horrible the second time Ive been there and it taste like they didnt clean the soft ice cream machine. The ice cream had a tart taste instead of sweet Ill be back for more taste. I call and ask them was something wrong with the machine because my ice cream had a tart taste. He said I tried it earlier and it was fine. Didnt even offer to give me something else just hung up. Id rather go to Cold Stone and spend extra money with better service. Then to come back to Dairy Joy.

An absolute must every time I get back to Tampa -- the spoon-thick shakes (which come in dozens of flavors) are on the short list of the greatest desserts in the world. And to address issues raised in others comments: Ive been there more times than I can count, and I have never received anything other than good service, nor have I ever witnessed anyone else, regardless of ethnicity, receiving service that was anything less than polite and courteous.

We go to Tampa-St. Pete once a year. We stop by Dairy Joy at least twice while there. Great ice cream and great service. Nice, polite people work there and theyve been nothing but nice to everyone Ive seen there. Customer Service is great. There is usually only two people working, so when the line gets backed up, it can take a little bit. But no big deal. This is our favorite.

This is a retro ice cream place with lots of options: shakes, soft serve ice cream, scooped ice cream, etc. I tried a coconut shake and was, unfortunately, a bit under-whelmed, but my son loved his chocolate chip cookie dough waffle cone. Im sure the other flavors of shakes are probably better, but the coconut wasnt mixed well and didnt end up being as good as I hoped.

Their brownie delight is very good. My favorite is their strawberry cheesecake. All of the ice cream I had here are great. One of the best ice cream shops I had been too. 5 star for ice cream but their milkshakes aint that good. Goes here once or twice a week and cheaper than Coldstone.

Excellent, family-friendly spot for ice cream and more. Its also pet friendly and the little doggie bowls with dog biscuits is an awesome treat (for your 4 legged friend).

Cheap, fast, taste is unreal. Last time I had a soft serve that good it was from a Mister Softee ice cream truck! Cant wait to go back with some more friends.
