**Review of Soft Serve Ice Cream Only** I came on July 4th. They had one poor girl working by herself. Ended up waiting in line for 20 mins. Soft serve ice cream sucked. Paid $8.00 for 2 small cones. One chocolate/vanilla swirl and the other one chocolate/vanilla swirl with rainbow sprinkles. Needless to say I wont be back. I could have gone to McDonalds and gotten better soft serve ice cream that tastes like its made with real cream for half the price. I couldnt even taste the chocolate. It seems they are more famously known for their Italian Ice and soft serve ice cream combo. I didnt try it, so I cant say if its to die for like other reviewers claim. I will definitely go back to visiting my preferred spot Twistee Treat.

This was recommended by friend that knows I truly love ice cream and soft serve. Mr Penguin is one of the best tasting soft serve establishments in the Tampa Bay area. Dont let the location fool you. The staff is friendly and recommends nice variations. Their bread and butter is Gelato or Italian ice mixed with soft serve :). They have over twenty flavors I had cookie butter with vanilla soft seve. Oh my it was good. I of course got a large and it was quite a large serving. This is only second to paciugo in downtown St. Pete for overall quality and taste of the gelato/froyo. They have different concepts and are quite unique in itself. I will be back even though it is quite a drive for me. Yum!

Fantastic Gelati. My wife had Gelati while visiting relatives out of town and came back saying that we had to find a place in Tampa that had it. A quick Google search later we are at Mr. Penguins ordering just ice cream for my picky son, just italian ice for my daughter that cant have dairy, and Gelatis for my wife and I. Everyone loved what that had and with the huge combo possibilities we will back to try more.

This great place serves gelati: a mix of soft serve and sorbetto so to speak. It is layered parfait style and voila gelati. They have covered outdoor seating so perfect if you got to have a treat and and dont want to get wet. No indoor seating at all. Currently they provide peanut butter something another for your pooch when they come. So nice thoughtful, AFORDABLE addition to Platt so desperately needed welcome.

Never wouldve thought that soft serve and italian ice would work so well together but damn if this wasnt one of the best ice cream stops Ive ever had. The gentleman who was manning the counter made some solid recommendations and was really helpful when my wife and I were giving him a deer in the headlights type look. Will definitely be back and I encourage anyone to visit if your sweet tooth needs sating.

Mr penguin is the bomb. I heart the soft serve, although the said serve flavor selection is limited in comparison to the gelato menu, the vanilla chocolate swirl plus rainbow swirls takes the Cake plus the girls behind the counter are young hot and scantily clad. The ice cream helps to cool down my hot blood.

Discovered Mr. Penguin randomly while doing a Google search for ice cream places around Tampa. My boyfriend and I love Mr. Penguin and come here whenever we get a chance. The gelati is delish or just get the Italian ice by itself, either way its so good! My personal favorite is the cookie butter with vanilla!

Soft serve is out of this world!!! Couple it with the in-house made Italian ice for gelati that will change your life. Not to mention unlimited free samples. You have nothing to lose. Try this place ASAP. Its a small walk up window, If youre not actively looking for this place you will drive right past.

Well this combination had my taste buds worried! But I was satisfied and happy I took the recommendation! My other companions had larger versions of my small and chose some interesting flavors. They were happy and full as well! All you can do is try to say you have experienced this place. DEELISH!!!

The combination of soft serve and shaved ice make a delicious combo. I decided to channel my childhood and have a root beer and vanilla small gelati. The combination though a bit sweet was a blast from the past. The soft serve is excellent and the combo is delicious. The small size is very generous.

Im not the biggest ice cream fan, but this place is somewhat unique and their fruity concoctions often involve fresh fruits, so thats pretty cool. Parking isnt bad, but its not great. Relatively contained for running around kids, but lots of danger points so youve got to keep a good eye on them

Mr. Ps cheers me up when I get sad. Good combinations of gelati: vanilla and mango, strawberry and vanilla, strawberry lemon and vanilla, orange cream and vanilla, chocolate and salted caramel. Biased towards vanilla and some of the candy flavors are a little too much for me like green apple

The gelati is great! The mango Italian ice is phenomenal. I had mine with vanilla soft serve. My husband had chocolate soft serve with peanut butter Italian ice, and I got a bite. The chocolate soft serve has to be the best I ever tried. Yummy!

Very friendly staff. Youre allowed unlimited samples, I usually know exactly what I want after the 2nd. Great flavor options and theyre all really good. Except for the pumpkin cheesecake, stay far away from that if its still there.

Only soft serve and Italian ice, and the soft serve is only vanilla or chocolate, but thats honestly all you need. I had strawberry and vanilla and it was amazing, but the limited soft serve options would be a good heads up.

It might not look like the most appetizing place... But they serve a very good, creamy soft serve and quite a variety of Italian ices here... You can mix the two and make a Gelati... Thank You Katie, you do a great job!

A little sweet for my taste, but they offer a very delicious blend of home made Italian ices and soft serve ice cream. Home made ≠ all natural, their flavors are definitely from syrups, but theyre still yummy!

This place is a cheap, neighborhood ice cream shop. I got the soft serve ice cream and it tasted fine, just like any other soft serve ice cream. They give you a lot for a small cone.

Tried a coconut & vanilla Gelati and also a strawberry and vanilla Gelati. Both where okay but the strawberry flavor tasted more like a bubble gum flavor the real strawberries
