The food and the service were both mediocre. Service wise, it couldve been better. The staff was a bit unprofessional. One of the members was swinging her (key?) around the dining room, whistling and singing very loud, which disrupted many including us. Our server was horrible. He kept forgetting to bring out our food out, and we waited close to an hour before we received our dinner entrees. It was already cold by then. A mother and son in front of us waited about 30 to 45 minutes before they got their soup. I felt bad for her son, he was crying because he was so hungry. The worst part? It wasnt even busy. Finally, when we were about to leave, we asked our server for to-go boxes, and he kept forgetting to bring them to us. He walked back into the kitchen and came out empty-handed. We reminded him, when he said "Oh yeah! I forgot, sorry! Be right back!" 15 minutes later.... He was empty handed again. He looked as if he were in the clouds. My mom had to remind him once again. Other customers all around us were complaining. When he came back for the third time, he once again forgot the to-go boxes, so we finally got up and left without taking our food home. This was a huge disappointment, and we hope the Village Inn managers do something about this soon, or else things will plummet for them. Will not return.

I just left at approx 2pm today and it was a shame that 3 employees ruined what otherwise was a great experience . The whole time I was trying to eat 2 males and one female from the kitchen area carried on vulgar, racial and offensive conversation loud enough for all in that area could hear plainly. I could not enjoy my meal even though it was good for this mess being allowed to go on in this establishment. I also would have spent more time and money because no doubt I would have tried a piece of pie that looked delicious. I cant believe with management in the building this was allowed to continue as long as it did and near the end of my meal the one gentleman left wearing a blue jersey style shirt with the number 58 on it. This type of behavior has no place in the public, this City, State or our Country. Shameful and disgraceful and I feel like others eating near me felt as disappointed and disrespected as I felt. I will not be back and I urge others to voice their opinions till this mess is rid from this establishment. The word of mouth can destroy a business quickly and customers should be able to enjoy their meal without trash and filth be used by its employees. Time to clean house and rid this place of such behavior.

Too salty, a little over-cooked, and felt like I ate a brick. I chose the chicken fried steak with country gravy, scrambled eggs, hash browns, and pancakes. The steak was a little overcooked and too salty. I liked everything else, but I ate this at 7pm at night and still feel like I ate a brick. I dont know what they fed me, but it doesnt seem right that I shouldnt feel empty 12 hours later when I normally do after that amount of time. I can go to McCRAPalds for this type of feeling next time and pay less money. Oh and the strawberry lemonade wasnt the best either. Besides the steak, the staff was decent enough, except the waitress forgot the extra napkins I asked for and someone in our party got room temperature soup that she asked to get microwaved.

Where else are you going to go when its 11PM, the sun has gone down, and the sidewalks around St. Augustine are starting to be rolled up? The drunks are trickling out of the bars, the late-night joggers are lacing up their shoes, and youre going to Village Inn. If youre looking for quality diner-grade food, this place is excellent. With the standard breakfast-served-all-day, tons of varieties in pie, and a hearty choice of burger or sandwich, Id wager this place beats out any IHOP or Dennys in town. If you dont mind a "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" type of vibe after dark, this is a great place to grab some coffee and pie when youve got a bout of insomnia to deal with.

My experience was AMAZING!! When my hubby and I entered the establishment we were seated promptly. Our waiter showed up quickly took our drink orders brought our drinks back and took our food order., all under 5mins. Our waiter Chrissy was kind, friendly and professional. Somebody give this girl a raise. O.. yea! How can I forget the pecan pie.. Superb! We were here on vacation during Thanksgiving. The service was phenomenal, taking into consideration the employees could have chosen to take the day off and been home with their families. If I could give this establishment a 10+ I would. No complaints here!

Food was really, really tasty, despite how it looked (it definitely did not resemble the menu photo). Fair warning -- their hashbrowns are baked, not fried. Its... Interesting. Dont expect crunchy hashbrowns. Also, their coffee is terrible, even on diner standards. It didnt taste like anything. It was like brown water. But Id still come back, because their breakfast food is really good -- the pancakes come with pretty much everything and theyre the perfect size.

In a city where everyone is really nice this place stands out still. The food is incredible. Nothing fancy but simple food done really, really well. Looked crowded from the parking but there was plenty of room inside. Mrs. Toby and our server (I forgot her name) were awesome and so very warm. Very attentive and even brought my one year old son a stuffed animal just because. I highly recommend this place and will be back here when Im next in town.

Been coming to Village Inn for years and the food is always great. However, long waits have plagued this restaurant. Since this morning when my wife suggested Village Inn for lunch I was excited to get off work to go eat. Well we get there, are seated and ten minutes goes by without a greeting much less taking our drink order. No less than 3 different wait staff passed us by and didnt say a word. Wont be returning.

The cooks "sometimes" need to focus on what the guests order as with OVER MEDIUM with EGGS means white cooked and yoke hot and as we know is to be runny okay, fact is a fact,,,,yiC. Evidently this was not applied because some people cannot take corrective criticism as friendly suggestions to improve their consistency and preserve their integrity of what they actually do,,,,, yiC

Welcoming, good, friendly, efficient service and nearest I could get to an English breakfast. Also a very reasonable dinner service with good wholesome food. As usual there is never enough vegetables but having asked for more we got two big portions of green beans and broccoli perfectly cooked with a nice crunch. A truly good value diner.

Its a tried and true go to for my friends and I. I visited today, had a major sweet tooth, and a hankering for breakfast. So I went with the gloriously wonderful Strawberry Banana French Toast Supreme. It was beyond decadent! Definitely more than just your average greasy spoon. Village Inn in St Augustine, FL is incredibly good!

Food was decent. Service was horrible. We would try and ask for something and it was like we were "bothering" our waitress. When we would finally ask for something she would walk away while i tried to finish my requests. I guess we can only ask for one srink refill at a time.
