Been here 3 times in the last 2 months and every time Ive went they never have jerk chicken, yet they advertise it everywhere. The rice and peas and collard greens taste like they put nutmeg or something in it, not a fan. Gave 3 stars because the portions are decent for the price. I appreciate your response. I was born and raised in south Florida specifically Miami. There are many authentic Jamaican restaurants and many "chain" restaurants that serve Jerk/ Curry chicken, oxtail, goat etc... your restaurant, if it is going to advertise jerk anything...my advice, make it a priority to have available at all times, you cannot compete with "American BBQ" solely on a BBQ only available product, the biggest seller obviously is your jerk because as you said it sells out quickly, so that means thats your staple. As far as the all spice, there might be an excessive amount being used, it does taste quite pungent in certain side dishes. I am not knocking what youre trying to do, but I would highly recommend that you have the Jamaican options more readily available to set yourself apart from competition in your area. Hope next time I visit I will get to experience your taste of the island. Also well versed, being my wife is Jamaican. I think you can be a 5 star all the time, but keep your most wanted product available. Good luck and God bless.

Well Im still looking for a good BBQ place close to the home front. Friends told me I had to try Trust Me BBQ off hwy 301. I stopped in tonight and waited for my turn to order. There was a long line almost out the back door. This restaurant is in a building that has been refitted to accommodate a small area to chop the ribs and prepare the to go orders. There are two bistro tables but this is not a dine in establishment. While waiting in line chatted with regulars who raved about the BBQ. They assured me I would love thier food. I ordered the $10.00 rib dinner. It came with five ribs and two sides, I got the baked beans and mac and cheese. Got home and tasted the beans and Mac. Nothing special and personally thought the beans were to mushy. The Mac and cheese were dry and lacked any real cheesey flavor. As to the ribs, if you like tasting rub or seasoning rather than the meat than this place is for you. I personally like the meat flavor with a balanced seasoning. You can save yourself money and time by getting a bottle of jerk seasoning eating it and skip the meat. For that matter I think I tasted the same seasoning in the beans with a hint of cinnamon. To muchhhhh seasoning. No awards for good BBQ here, I think the average Joe can make better ribs with a cheap smoker from Lowes. Good luck guys, Im still looking!

Wanted so bad to give Trust Me BBQ a 5 star rating but I just cant do it. I am new to the Tampa area and I noticed the smell of the pit outside the establishment while riding past. The first problem I encountered was that they stopped making their jerk chicken for the day. A small disappointment but I could live with that. The second problem I had was when I made it home and opened the package my order was wrong. Being a first time customer this was not a great impression for me, not even a good one. Silver lining is when I took it back to get the right order they did it with no hassle. The food I did get was very tasty and I can tell it was professionally prepared because I do a lot of grilling and smoking myself. The customer service was excellent also. Very nice people. Sell whats on the menu, pay more attention to customer order details in the future and there is no reason why this would not be a 5 star establishment.

Yet another delicious dinner. As usual, Roger had the tunes cranked up and was doing his thing. For everyone that complains about the customer service, have you even tried to talk to the staff/owners? I told Roger that I recently smoked my first Boston butt and how I can appreciate how much work gos into what he does. Roger was pleasant and laughingly suggested that perhaps I should leave it to the professionals. And professional is exactly what they are. Nothing, NOTHING compares to Trust Me, not in tampa bay, FL, the Eastern US... I dont understand why all of they hype gos to 5 star steak joints.. This food takes so much time to make. There is something special about truly amazing BBQ. There is a dedication to the craft at Trust Me, you can taste the investment of time/flavor that is needed to get things right. Roger nails it every time. RESPECT to you too Roger, thank you & keep doing exactly what you do.

My husband and I couldnt wait to try this place. We purchased the family meal for $22 bucks which included 1/2 chicken, pulled pork, (we actually substituted the pork for beef and paid an extra $1.50) 1/4 ribs, 3 small sides, and 1 side of peach cobbler...well it was really good! The meats were well prepared and the barbecue sauce was excellent! My fav side dish was baked beans but we also got mac n cheese, and potato salad and they were also excellent. Well I gave it 4 stars because I dont believe in eating barbecue without corn bread...lol Im so for real. It was EXTREMELY disappointing not to have any and its DEFINITELY an item that needs to be added to their menu yesterday!!! Other that...will definitely be going back....oh and the peach cobbler wasnt that good either...it has this really thick crust with barley any peaches.

Im a BBQ lover. Being an international student from Trinidad, naturally I miss my countrys food. This place reminds me of home and more. Ive been searching everywhere for good BBQ. Ive tried every chain you can think of and was never really satisfied, then I stumbled upon this place. Even though its 30 mins away from where I live, Ive had absolutely no problem making the drive over for some of their food. Everything is amazingly seasoned and flavored, from the ribs to the sausage. The jerk chicken is AMAZING and their BBQ is the best BBQ sauce Ive tasted since Ive been away from home. Try their sides, as well. They will not disappoint. I havent tried all, but the potato salad and beans I had were amazing. You will not be disappointed by your visit, trust me. Ive never written a good review, but I definitely had to for this place

I am very disappointed in my familys last few visits to this establishment . The ribs are burried in sauce and they are dry. The meat has the day old and warmed up today taste. Also, the smoked until the meat becomes dry taste. My family stops by because it is the only bbq spot out in this area. I am not complaining just to be complaining. This is the fourth time someone in this house has stopped by and the food taste the same. Very disappointed... but I dont want to come in complaining and cost you business. That is why I am writing. Son just left there an hour ago.

Place is run out of a Sunoco gas station in Riverview next to US 301. Owner is Jamaican and uses a jerk-based rub for his ribs, which were cooked just right and had a nice smoky flavor to them. The sauce has a very interesting flavor, with s SUBTLE hint of fruitiness. Really liked it. Had sides of baked beans and mac and cheese. Both were good and flavorful. The beans were not too sweet and had traces of pulled pork in them. Beans were cooked soft, not hard. Portions were on the generous side while the meal was under $10. Will definitely go back.
