In fairness, the BBQ was decent. I tried a variety of their core items. My wife’s order was contaminated with gluten and she suffered a painful reaction despite our server promising the food’s safety. We didn’t finish our meals because we had to leave abruptly to deal with the gluten issue. Initially, the restaurant charged us full price and a casual apology. Ultimately (after jumping through some hoops) the restaurant openly admitted their mistake and offered us a gift card for remedy. When I suggested a refund seemed more appropriate, they provided a $7 credit to our check. Please be careful when eating at this restaurant. Also, keep in mind that if they screw something up, you aren’t likely to be adequately compensated. There is another place very nearby called Proper Pig that offers higher quality BBQ in my opinion. Other (safe) Lakewood favorites include: Forage, Rush Inn, Buckeye Beer Engine, El Carnicero, Jammy Buggars, Pier W.

Came here for the first time tonight and it was a great experience. The service was fast and friendly and the food was excellent. Yet another wonderful BBQ place in Lakewood! I got the three meat sampler with brisket, ribs, and decided to try the wings. The meat was smoked perfectly with a nice thick dry rub that was charred to give a great flavor. The ribs and brisket fell apart from being so tender but still had a nice body to them and the wings were also smoked through and the meat practically fell off the bone. The mac and cheese had some good "rib jam" in it to give it some added flavor and the corn bread that came with the platter was just the right bit of sweetness to offset the smokey savory meats. The collard greens were tender and delicious as well. Definitely a place to come back but need to make sure I am very hungry. They do not skimp on the portions. Cant wait to try some more items in the menu soon!

Wife and I walked in at 7:30 on a Saturday, no one greeted, stood around for a couple minutes while staff passed us. Had to ask how to be seated. Once there, by the server station, it took someone 5min for someone to ask if we had been helped. Then we waited another 7-10min before making the decision to leave. During this time, servers passed right by us at least a dozen times. On our way out the door, no one said a word to us, and there were plenty of other unhappy customers that looked like they had been waiting too long. I spent a good amount of time as a server in small Lakewood restaurants and know this was not worth our time. If youre going to attempt to run a new small restaurant in Lakewood, you better be more on top of your game, especially when there are plenty of dining options within walking distance.

Great Brisket. Cool vibes for a Lakewood bar. Very good draft beer selection. My wife loved the stuffed smoked jalapenos. The wings are absolutely delicious. The brisket was some of the best I had. We recently had the 1/2 smoked jerk chicken and yes I have been to Jamaica before and it was spot on and better than most in Jamaica. The service I would sum up as pretty good overall. The renovation on the space is rather amazing from what it was when it was the dive bar Trios. I would say this place is far superior to thenproper pig and on the same level as Mabels as far as the BBQ goes and less expensive. I am glad they opened in Lakewood. Its a great addition to the Madison Avenue food and drink scene.

The place has a nice atmosphere, the bartender I had was very personable and friendly she was a huge plus for this place. I have a pretty major negative at least for me. The food is brought out on these tin like cake pans, the idea is cool for their style but whether its that or the forks you get this huge metallic taste. Such a turn off to a restaurant, luckily I ordered a sandwich so it didnt kill the mean but eating anything off of it by fork was really hard. Next time I go and when you go Id suggest asking for it in the styrofoam to-go container. Besides the metallic taste the food was pretty good and the prices were pretty decent. Id go back again and give it another try for sure.

Awesome experience great food! Started with the stuffed jalapenos which were layered over with a slice of bacon and had a meaty twist in the stuffing. I had the 2 meat sampler brisket and wings with a side of mac & cheese. The wings were seasoned to perfection and delightfully crispy. The brisket was tender and melted like an ice cream cone on a hot summer day in might mouth. I also indulged in the above average beer selection while enjoying a cool breeze inside coming from the large open bi-folding windows. Will definitely return to try the other dishes they have to offer.

Thought this is going to be a dive bar, but it feels bright and clean and new on the inside. Ordered some takeout, bartender was quick and let me know itd only take like 10 minutes. Got the brisket and Mac & cheese. Brisket is so tender and juicy, no knife needed. Tastes real good. Add some spicy BBQ sauce to it for some kick. Mac & cheese is fine, nothing great. I peeped their beers on tap and its some good stuff. Ill be back for beers and more food again.

Food was amazing! I had the two meat (brisket and ribs) and side (mac n cheese) plate and it was a good deal for $12. Portion was large and I enjoyed everything on the plate. Meats were tender and hot and not over-spiced. Loved their spicy sauce. Mac n cheese was solid but nothing amazing. Cornbread was moist and slightly sweet. Tap list is very impressive and the interior renovation is great! Very clean and nice bathrooms. Overall an easy 5 stars.

I went in for dinner a couple weeks ago. I was alone and sat at the bar. After checking out the menu and talking to the bartender about what she thought was good I ordered the brisket. The meal was excellent and the smokiness of the meat was perfect. I enjoyed my stay and because I was alone the bartender checked on me often and chatted with me a little to keep me company. Overall experience was excellent.

Parking situation is infuriating at Wednesday 7:30pm, had to park a few blocks away after luckily finding someone leaving. Food was cooked well and tasty, portions were not as generous as other reviews had me believe. Baked beans were certainly better than proper pig. BBQ sauce was unspectacular. Service was lacking as stated in other reviews, certainly some emphasis needed here from management.

Woodstock just opened its doors August 8th, 2016. Just like any new restaurant, there are going to be a few hiccups. Dont listen to the other reviews about wait times, or bad food. I would recommend Woodstock BBQ to anyone around the area. The pulled pork was amazing, and the mac and cheese was spicy and delicious. Fantastic spicy BBQ sauce as well. The atmosphere was really cool.

They may want to reconsider there smoking policy on there patio. All of the smoke goes directly into the faces of the customers inside. The service is so-so. The food comes out very fast. It gets busy. The price was very reasonable in my opinion. The horseradish pickles were great.
