When it comes to "real Florida," this riverside roadhouse cant be beat. Whether you arrive by bike, boat or Bentley, this joint welcomes all. Totally lacking in pretense, it offers cold beer, a great juke box, and, um, a rustic charm that youd expect from a dive that requires you to drive through a trailer park...or navigate the Alafia...to find it. Food is ordered and served through an adjacent shack, then savored on a picnic table on the deck overlooking the meandering river, or at a table inside. In the spirit of full disclosure, you should know: Because the bar does NOT technically serve food, smoking is permitted. The "parking lot" is wherever you can find a patch of dirt among the trees. Being called a "cracker" here is considered a compliment. And a can of Bud in this Riverview landmark will cost you almost $4. (Buy it by the bucket...and save.) I didnt stick around for karaoke or last call, but by 7 PM on a Saturday night, the Beer Shed was already packing them in. And I can only assume that once the sun sets, the Beer Shed is loud and filled to the (fully visible) rafters. This place is definitely not for everyone...which Im sure is just fine with the Sheds owners and regulars. For me? Beer Shed is a timeless gem.

This place takes a new meaning when they say a hole in the wall! Nice of them to post waterfront pic. But I assure you the sign out front states alot "ATM" inside beer shed. That is there signage by the way, high class right! You must travel through the 1970s trailer park that is only within 100ft from trailer park. Found two large trash dumpsters pulling into parking and not sure if that was for the trashy park or bar. Sum it up, wanna fight, stand with half dressed trashy people that reek of smoke and beer by all means this place is for you! It has its own trashy click! But dont be fooled by there waterfront pictures! Stop by get a six pack and hang out with friends by the water at there house before hitting this dive. Or pay a few extra $$ and just find a restaurant with bar. Or make the drive to a beach bar. Bring a date here and no doubt it will be your last. Trash, Trash,Trash!!!!

Ive read the previous reviews and it seems that there is some confusion as to what the Beer Shed really is! LOL This is a river-side bar (tavern) and as riverside taverns go, it is as good as to be expected! My husband and I thought the food was good for what it is....this is not a gourmet restaurant! The quantitiy was certainly more than sufficient and our Black Lab Max loved the "doggy bag" we brought home for him. The prices were typical "riverside bar" prices and as this type of establishment goes, we thought it faired quite well. In fact, it was above average. We had a good time and wed go back again given the opportunity.

Would not allow a veteran and his service dog in the establishment. Which is against Federal Law and the ADA. Under the ADA, State and local governments, businesses, and nonprofit organizations that serve the public generally must allow service animals to accompany people with disabilities in all areas of the facility where the public is normally allowed to go. Establishments that sell or prepare food must allow service animals in public areas even if state or local health codes prohibit animals on the premises. And even if you have a No Pets sign posted, A Service Dog is NOT A PET!! If I could give negative stars I would.

It is what it is, a river bar. I found this place following another biker and was glad I did. Order your beer, sit outside under the trees and listen to the music playing inside. Had a great time. Nice ride from Bradenton to here because it just off of Hwy 301. I will admit parking was a bit of a pain but not a downer. There was a security guard there and every time we finished a beer he would pick up your bottle for you. Never had to get up. We will be back!

It is what it is. If you walk (or roll) in and feel it isnt your taste in atmosphere, you can actually push 1 or 2 more buttons and your phone actually searches for nearby options. ** One IMPORTANT thing to know is they DO NOT accept debit cards. There is an ATM that charges $2 transaction fee. I would guess if no debit card also no credit card. You can roll in on 2 or 4 wheels or float up on your boat & have a decent burger & a cold beer :-D

The blond younger bartender was GREAT!! She was super busy, Saturday night crowd & was rite on time with a smile, shes a keeper!! Beer shed is awsome home town history..just a shame the owner hates dogs & berates woman in the parking lot who have 2 registered therapy dogs..hes angry & creepy..but, I have always loved the shed & what it represents..I just limit the time or $$$ I spend there now, because of the current owner.

This is a long standing Riverview bar. Its nothing fancy, but they have cold beer and its right on the Alafia river. They have a nice outside deck that you can reach by boat. There are picnic tables outside and a handful of tables inside. Its tucked in behind a small trailer park. Lots of regulars come here and it can get packed. Its really a cool little spot on the Alafia river. That has been around forever.

I freaking love the Beer Shed. Local as can be. Great prices on everything. Beer is fresh and the staff are cool. The view is outstanding, right there on the Alafia. Parking isnt great, but its not horrible.... just not plentiful. It is the first bar I visited in the area before relocating here and it is still my favorite.

Great little bar on the river, I had the great northern beans and ham which was great but the cornbread is not your mamas cornbread, sorry Barbara. For what it is, its a local biker/vet hangout, no liquor :-( just beer and wine. Had a great time and enjoyed the new friends that I made.

Get the Thai food back!!! The beer shed is cool but the Thai place made it a million times better. Probably wont go back unless the Thai place comes back. Edit after cooldown: To be honest the food didnt look to bad at the new food place but i used to come for the thai.

Great view of the Alafia River; didnt have any food. Draft beer is cold. Very tight when they have a band which is inside, but decks are nice for added comfort. Service not that great, a little slow when busy. Parking is terrible.

Good people, great fun. Karaoke, food, live bands. You can take a boat ride and dock outside the bar. All races and genders accepted here. The pricing is not to bad either. Thumbs up.
