The restaurant provides a menu of sushi and primarily red meat or fish entrees. It offers no soba or udon entrees which was very disappointing. We had the miso soup (good), shrimp/vegetable tempura (oily), seaweed salad (good), daikon/shitake side (overcooked), vegetarian sushi (very good). The serving staff is very attentive and congenial. The cozy venue is quiet & calm. The large painted lobster and crab in the sushi chefs area are made of bamboo and are spectacular, the other art is also lovely The Christmas village that was on display for the holidays was painstakingly installed and provided great magic to the restaurant. However, due to the fish & meat-focused menu, and lack of vegetarian options, sadly, we will not be dining here again.

This was our first visit to Amimoto and we loved it. We had an assortment of sushi and warm Japanese dishes. The sushi was fresh and tasted excellent. Our favorite sushi rolls were the spicy scallop rolls and the spider rolls, based on of what we all ordered. I also had the grouper with wasabi sauce, which I really enjoyed. It was cooked perfectly! The only complaint I would have would be that $3 for a fountain soda is a bit excessive, but I can live with it being the Japanese beers were $3.50. I marked the decor as very good, instead of excellent as well. There isnt really anything wrong with the decor, but to get an excellent in that category from me I would have to feel that I was in a restaurant in Japan.

My wife and I made the mistake of going to this restaurant on a Saturday evening about 6 p.m. We were seated at the bar (the tables were full) and promptly waited on. We ordered about 6:05 p.m. and then waited, and waited and waited...until our food came about 7:10 p.m.! It was an unreasonably long time. Notwithstanding, the food was excellent. Then, it was an ordeal to get the check....which took another 15 minutes! Slowwwwwww service/excellent food. I think well go back and give it another try! Im giving the restaurant a 5 because of the great food and how hard the man behind the sushi counter worked to fill customers orders. Perhaps they were understaffed or we just hit it wrong.....

Some of the best sushi my husband and I have had for a long time! We were pleasantly surprised to find sushi of this quality. Best advice is that you should make reservations, the restaurant is on the smaller side, and people love to dine here. We went about 6:30pm, they just managed to squeeze us in without a reservation. Wait staff was polite and attentive. You can tell they have their regulars here, as everyone was giving a shout out to the chef as they arrived or left.

Best sushi in SouthWest Florida. Ive tried sushi at Blu Sushi, Origami, Asuka, Ichiban, Sakura and this is hands down, the best sushi restaurant in the area. A wonderful, relaxing environment with extremely friendly staffing. There is however only 1 sushi chef so it can be a long wait but it is worth the wait. My boyfriend and I always spend at least 1.5 hours but we always leave happy and relaxed.

Family run and very friendly =) Attractive and relaxed environment. By far the best and freshest sushi Ive had since living in Boston. I highly recommend their house maki roll, the Amimoto. Fairly priced for the quality and portion sizes. I have not tried anything from the regular menu but family members have and they loved the gyoza appetizers and kobe beef dinner. Domo arigato Amimoto!

I took my dear friend who travels around the world who loves Sushi. I am from Japan. We LOVED Amimotos Sushi! So fresh! Chef surprised us by creating his special assortments. Ask for that. I look forward to going back there again and again. Its worth for the trip from Massachusetts!! Highly recommend it.

I love this place. Always great to get something more than a rainbow roll and the bento boxes are fab. So much for the price. I cant wait to go back for my birthday dinner. (and Im a snobby foodie so picking a place for birthday dinner is basically a giant stamp of "this place is the s#*t" approval")

Went there for lunch today. Order a couple sushi rolls, and salads. When she brought the sushi, she announced they dont have any ginger today.... GINGER,,, are you kidding me ?? A key component to sushi ! Its not like they couldnt have sent someone to Publix for a jar of ginger.

The best sushi experience Ive had by far. Im so glad I decided to come here. You will absolutely not regret coming here. Food was amazing and the sushi preparer was the nicest guy youd ever met. We shared conversations back and forth. If you are in Punta Gorda, try this place.

I am a very pick eater and do not like seafood. Amimoto has sushi that is so delicious that even I will eat it! I always get there miso soup, salad with ginger dressing, and their amimoto and spicy tuna rolls. I only wish that they did takeout!

The place is neat and cozy. They give you the hot white towels to clean your hands before dining like in traditional sushi places. Service is great, they are all very friendly. Spider roll and Punta Gorda roll were very good.
