Was highly disappointed with this restaurant!! My husband and I both ordered mix drinks, which came in plastic Dixie cups, and both were extremely watered down. I had ordered the the Shrimp Jammers as our appetizer, which sounded sooo good. They were definitely pre made, and heated up in a microwave. At this is where our dining experience took a turn for the worse. My husband ordered the oyster platter, with some of the signature oysters. I had ordered the fish tacos grilled. Our table was located in the bar area, and right by the kitchen. We watched as 2 men shucked all the oysters. So I thought at least the oysters will be fresh... But after they shuck them, they load them up with all the toppings and put them on a tray and shove them in a Microwave!!!! I could not believe my eyes. Once our food came out, my husband tried to get passed the though of eating microwaved oysters... He made it through about half and then got sick. I had tired my fish tacos thinking they would be a safe bet. Nope!! Grilled fish, was cold and had no taste. I couldnt even finish one taco. After all of this we had both lost both of our appetites, and at this point the thought that I could had stayed in or gone some else that was worth the money was just upsetting. So hopefully this review will save someone else from wasting at night or a nice dinner at this terrible place!

As you are walking up to the front doors there is music playing, children dancing, people enjoying food on the front porch. Walk inside you are greeted immediately by a very nice member of the wait staff and seated very promptly. Our waiter was very quick to introduce himself and take our drink and appetizer orders and make a few suggestions on the menu for our entrées. We started off with the chips and cheese dip which came out quickly and was delicious! My girlfriend had the shuckums burger I had the surf and turf medium rare, blackened shrimp and a loaded baked potato. After about a 15 minute wait our food arrived. Presentation was good couldnt wait to dig in! Cut into the steak to find it was cooked to perfection and tasted amazing as did the shrimp and potato! My girlfriends burger was great as well very juicy and cooked perfectly! By far the best place we have eaten in panama yet! I recommend eating here over and over again we will be back next trip for sure! You wont be disappointed Worth every penny!

Have eaten there many times; food was always great but the last two times the service was TERRIBLE. SO our last visit was Saturday, 2-17-16. Didnt get a chance to see a menu after waiting 15 minutes on the outside patio....being dissed 3 times by one blonde server and again two more times by the other 2 servers......totally ignored and they werent that busy....so this tells me that they really dont want or need my money or tip.....OH WELL! and my boyfriend tips really well...usually 50%.. Not real sorry that he wont ever get to tip one of you again. And to you Mr. Carter , you might want to put an ad in the News Herald classifieds advertising for more experienced wait staff. Went down the road to Scampis where we were served cold beers within 5 minutes of us sitting down. Kudos to them....Thumbs down to SHUCKUMS.

The waitress was very nice, but it took an hour and a half to get our food. The crab cakes were full of bones and about an 1/8 of an inch thick. More like a pancake. There were four adults, one child and an infant in our party and they elected to add an 18% tip because they said there were six of us. Evidently they cant count.Didn;t know a toddler and infant counted as adults. They were rated #1 which was hard to believe because the night before we ate at a place called Hunts Seafood and that was THE BEST meal I had ever had. Even though they were extremely busy, we did not wait for our food long and the prices were about half what Shuckums was. So guess where I will always go back to????? HUNTS!!!! "SHUCKUMS IS SO NASTY AND OVER PRICED, WHAT A RIP OFF" " DONT GO THERE"

My husband and I went for a dinner out with friends and it turned into a complete disaster! After waiting at least 15 minutes, the waiter FINALLY asked for our drink order. The appetizers came, late and cold. After about another 20 minutes, the waiter took our dinner order. The food arrived and after my husband asked the food carrier for a cup of ranch dressing she replied, "Um... you need to ask your server." If that was not enough to make us angry, my husband lifted up his wax paper full of french fries to find old, soggy fried shrimp that had been left there by a previous diner. Yuck. The manager said that she would discount our ticket, which never happened. I am a PCB local who loves good seafood, but would NEVER go back to Shuckums. Avoid at all costs and go to Dustys instead.

This was our first attempt at raw or steamed oysters...so we asked our server Nick to guide us on what to order. He said that most newbies go with the steamed variety, but encouraged us to go big or go home...so we did. An hour later, we had polished off a dozen raw and another variety of three local favorites that were steamed. They were all delicious and the server Nick was amazing! Although the oysters were great, we tried the spinach dip appetizer and unfortunately had to send it back due to the flavor not being what we Texans are used to...Nick traded it out for some queso, unfortunately it wasnt any better either! Moral of the story...dont go to a place called Shuckums and order anything but Oysters!!! We will happily return on our next trip!

Comfortable, warm atmosphere! From the hostess stand to the fine attention to detail they take thier time here to ensure not just customer satisfaction but beyond! its understandable after trying the menu why this is such a highly trafficked restaurant; from the half baked oysters the mixes and the quintessentials from any self respecting beach town restaurant. They really do a high wire act every night all the while ensuring you dont feel rushed and your important. The food was indescribable and of much better quality than similar restaurants in the area. Schuckums has been around for a while and its obvious theyve figured out the formula to perfect customer experience.

Average tourist trap restaurant, crab dip had little flavor and the chips were straight from a wholesale food delivery company. Crab bisque soup was not good at all, bisque was separating and tops, maybe a teaspoon of crab meat. Now for the oysters, I love raw, on the half shell, except these ones, they were warm (thats a huge no-no for raw food), shells were not clean and they were on the small sized. They were shucking the oysters, loading them on the trays and stacking anticipating the sales (no ice), the waitress would grab the top trays and pass them out, so they werent being rotated (I feel for the one that got the bottom tray). So, I wouldnt recommend Shuckums.
