This place is awesome! The people are so nice and lovable, its like that little dive bar everyone knows. A husband and wife own it, with the husband being the chef/sushi chef, and his wife apparently doing most of the front of the house work. He is Japanese, and she is Korean but she seems to speak pretty decent Japanese! Shes very friendly and gives lots of hugs, treats everyone like family. The decor and seating isnt the best, but it is clean. They put little chair-pads on the benches to make them more comfortable, and it helps, but its not nearly as good as an upholstered seat. Not all of the chairs match either. Normally Id take a half a star off for stuff like this but to be honest I didnt care after I tried the food. I have eaten at Sushi Mori, Nippon Thai, Jao Thai, and Siam Orchid. While I would go to any of the last three if I wanted Thai, if I wanted Japanese I was kind of SOL until this place. If you want AUTHENTIC Japanese cuisine and literally the best sushi in the county, you come here. Not only is their fried rice excellent and well-priced (8 bucks for veggie fried rice at DINNER!) but they have RAMEN. No, not the stuff you buy in the store. This is authentic Japanese ramen, with stock made from pork bones (or miso if they run out of that, which they had when I went but its still amazing). The soup includes the traditional ramen noodles, cooked so they still have a bit of chew but are soft and easy to eat. It also has hard boiled egg, some cute little fish cakes (compressed fish in a paste, tastes way better than it sounds, also very traditional), mushrooms, krab (imitation crab meat, way more sustainable than real crab and not unhealthy), and best of all....PORK BELLY! The pork belly is the real star of the dish, and while it may look like it has a lot of fat on it, remember that pork belly (the meat from the belly portion, not the stomach organ, my mother thought it was stomach >_<) is what bacon is made from. The fat that is on the pieces melts on the tongue because its so well-cooked. Its certainly not low-fat but its decadent and utterly blows away everything Ive ever eaten at these so-called "Japanese" restaurants that serve mainly Thai food. They also have great lunch specials, the sushi is usually around 4.5-8 dollars for a SPECIALTY ROLL, and their teriyaki is wonderful. All in all, this place is what Ive been waiting to find for over a decade and a half, and its now within walking distance. I only regret I hadnt found this place as soon as it opened.

Perhaps the best Japanese restaurant in Brevard. Fujiyamas and Makotos have nothing on this place. The staff makes you feel like Family and the owner, Mimi, welcomes you with a hug. Everyone is very knowledgeable about the menu and very good at figuring out what you would like if you cant choose. If you have a question about a menu item they will explain it in detail. The hardest part is choosing what to eat. My wife and I have pretty much ordered everything on the menu and have yet to find something we didnt like. The sushi is the best you can get. Every roll is full of flavor. personal favorite is the Punky Brewster. The main dishes are more traditional Japanese and not American Japanese. You havent had real ramen until you ordered it here. There is a reason Irashiai has close to a 5 star rating (currently 4.9) It is well deserved. If you love sushi, and are looking for real Japanese food, Irashiai is your place.

An excellent dinner overall. The service is eager, happy, and attentive. Our good was great, a whole eel with potato salad (crazy good), a sashimi sample (the hamachi was great), and an order of takoyaki served blisteringly hot. I want to preface my next sentence by saying that I give Irashiai five stars, its a very delicious restaurant, and I would go twice a month if I lived in the area. That being said, the pickle appetizer bad and should be taken off the menu. All of the pickles are premade and bland. The rice was overcooked with too much water, meaning slightly mushy and slightly sticky rice (an error that was one in a thousand I hope).

First time visiting and we were extremely surprised with the welcome we got. Everyone that entered was greeted with a hug and smiles from everyone that worked there. If youre ever having a bad day and need a hug visit this place. Tried the cream soda and the mango Ramune (Japanese sodas) bother were DELICIOUS. took a sip of the mango sake from hubby , wasnt bad. Had the oysters for an app and the jumping shrimp maki, godzilla maki and samurai jack for dinner. Finished off with a miso soup and house salad with sesame dressing. Will definitely be visiting again soon.

We tried this restaurant a few days after seeing a very excited young man jumping about the side of the road with a now open sign. The food was excellent. From the Miso soup with tiny crunchy bits in it to perfectly fried rice, there was absolutely no complaints from either side of the table. The price was reasonable and they had an extensive lunch menu. The atmosphere was quaint and friendly and the whole experience was very positive. We will be returning and you should definitely give them a try.

Wow! I went here with my husband and daughter. The boat we ordered was well beyond our expectations! We like a lot of other places in the space coast region, but this place is a great place to truly experience authentic Japanese cuisine! From the moment you walk in you walk in you feel like family! The culinary adventure your palette is guided through by your server and chef exquisite. Im so happy we stopped in here, and look forward to many culinary pallet adventures here! This place is like CHEERS, but Japanese. Reservations recommended. Went here because my coworker raves about the place twice a week. Tried it for the first time with three friends, all first-timers. Service was the best weve had in Melbourne / Palm Bay. The food was more art than food. Spicy Seafood Ramen is a must. The crepe-like Japanese dessert was free because they ran out of red bean ice cream. Visit this place if youre looking for a great atmosphere, great food and great company.

This place is our favorite restaurant. Amazing Japanese cuisine. The sushi is great but for me the big draw is it is the only place that has Japanese "comfort food"... Especially the ramen. And they recently expanded their ramen offerings though I never tired of the tankotsu ramen. All delicious. The staff are all extremely helpful and friendly and go out of their way to be welcoming. This place is awesome, thanks for all the great food and the smiles :)

Best ramen Ive ever had. Visited twice in one week. Fair price for portions and quality. Very friendly staff, I was hugged by the cook upon entering. They make sure every customer is highly satisfied. Also over heard a 5 min conversation of a lady who couldnt remember what sushi she had gotten last time. The waitress went through all of the possiblities and offered to do a custom roll. Definitely coming by weekly.

Our first visit (4 of us) - and we were quite pleased with both the food and the experience. We had tempura shrimp (2), pork nuggets, and teriyaki salmon, in bento boxes with all the sides. The staff is the friendliest ever - as are the guests! Many of them seemed to know each other. Its so popular, either go early or get reservations, at least on the busiest days. Talk to Mimi or MOM (aka WOW).
