We have been eating at Red Bowl for over two years now. It is beautiful inside the restaurant and the food is quite good. That is why I cannot leave one star. The customer service is typically hit-or-miss. Last night was our first time eating there in almost a year. We waited over 15 minutes for a server to get to us. But it was Friday night and we understood. We completed our full orders when she finally arrived. After this a larger party (8 people sat down) next to us. They received their food before us, no big deal there is a nice atmosphere and we didnt ming waiting for our food. At the time of the bill our waitress sat down our check, this was about a quarter way through eating our meals (about 5 minutes after food arrived). I waited about 5 minutes to place my card on the check so I could eat a little bit more. After she brought back the receipt and my card to sign she walked away. We were still eating our dinners and the waitress came to me and said "Can you sign and leave tip?" I thought I heard her wrong of course so I replied, "Im sorry?" She said again, "Can you sign now and leave tip?" I was just about to put a bite of food in my mouth and put down my fork to sign even though I was uncomfortable. I thought she was going to leave for a moment while I signed the bill but she hovered over me I guess to make sure I was signing Im not sure why she did this. As soon as I looked up from signing she reached for the signed bill in my hand and the pen in my other. The food is so good here and the ambiance is so nice I will probably go back, but if I receive this waitress I will politely ask for another so I dont feel rushed after getting my meal.

Honestly I have had the worst experience today. I did an order to pick up during my lunch break, and when I arrived they had made the wrong dish for me. I ordered the vegetable delight and they had made the triple delight instead which has chicken, shrimp, and beef. I told the two women at the desk I cant have beef due to an allergy. They said no problem and went to the kitchen to have the chef make the right order. Or so I thought. After about 10 minutes the manager came back out with the supposed correct order which she said was made immediately (as in a completely new order/dish). So I went back to work to eat my lunch in the break room, as I was eating my stomach started to hurt. About four bites in my fork hit a large piece of beef. I freaked out and went straight back to speak to the manager who just said theyd make me it a third time. I refused because they already told me they had made a new dish and lied. Needless to say I am still throwing up 5 hours later and will be contacting the health department. Luckily my allergy to beef doesnt make my tongue swell or my throat close up because they could have had a serious lawsuit to deal with. I am never going back and will continue to tell anybody and everybody about my horrible experience. The manager and the chef should have repercussions. This is unacceptable to first get my order wrong, then lie about making me a new order, and then not even seem to care that I will probably be throwing up with severe stomach pains for the next few days. DO NOT GO HERE.!

No substitutions even if willing to pay more for it, NOT GOOD! Ran out of sushi ingredients, (e.g., asparagus)! Got order wrong, TWICE!!! I was over-charged until I pointed out the error and demanded a correction!!! Not greeted warmly or in a welcoming manner!! Seated somewhat abruptly by maitre d. Not a great meal. Shrimp tempura was not very satisfying, the tempura is more like a batter than light tempura coating... too oily!! Wasabi made very well! Wide array of food on menu! Sushi ginger was OLD tasting!! Messed up my order so badly that I had to keep reducing my order so the waiter would get it correct...and, the server STILL got my order wrong!! Average pricing. I received a shrimp tempura sushi roll that I did not order...this was an OBVIOUS and BLATANT means to charge me more for my meal since I kept reducing items that I ordered because THEY DID NOT HAVE INGREDIENTS OR THEY REFUSED TO SUBSTITUTE (EVEN THOUGH I OFFERED TO PAY EXTRA TO DO SO), AND THE WAITER KEPT GETTING MY ORDER WRONG!!!!!!!). Read other reviews...especially the ones with low scores...then, BE FOREWARNED!!!! IT CAN HAPPEN TO YOU TOO!!! Will NEVER return!!!!

4 of my coworkers and I ordered $47 worth of food. Two separate orders of sushi came in the SAME container. When I asked them about it they told me that I would have to specify if I would like my food separated!!!!!! TWO different orders!!!! I would understand MAYBE if it was the same kind of sushi. They said they would come back pick the food up and separate it and then redeliver it after I asked for two separate fresh orders!!!!!!!! So I asked for a refund. They were suppose to refund me $27, they refunded me $18. One order of sushi cost 15.99, the other 10.99. Needless to say I will NEVER go there again.

Ordered 2 rolls to go and it took 25 minutes to determine why. They gave our order to another person who left the facility and returned 5 minutes later to get her correct order. Then they wanted to just give the order to us without knowing what might have been done while the other person left with the order. Extremely unprofessional and probably against the law. It would be hard to trust them again knowing this is how they handle their business. If they dont worry about what happens once an order leaves the building, why would they care what they do inside the restaurant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I went for lunch today and order sushi. I waited 45 mins for my order. I never received it ! I finially ask where my food was and they said the kitchen was back up and that i should order something else. I explain i was on my lunch hour and had no time to order or eat something else. Then the manager said "o this is you food coming. O wait thats not yours". I was so mad, it felt he had no idea what he was doing. They didnt apoligize, they cancled my order and walked off after that

They have an excellent menu, pleasant atmosphere, good service and reasonable prices. We eaten lunch and dinner there, bought from take-out and have never been disappointed. Some 30 years ago while visiting San Franciscos China Town, I had Hot and Sour soup in a restaurant that set the standard for me. Since then, I have tried Hot and Sour soup in dozens of restaurants looking for an equal to the San Francisco soup. I finally found it at the Red Bowl!

The manager is far beyond rude. When we ordered she was discontent that we didnt order something bigger. The egg rolls tasted burnt and with a terrible taste I asked for it to be taken off the bill as we did not eat them. She not only refused, she yelled at the waiter in her language about us. I wanted to just walk out. If you eat here, make sure you like it because youll be stuck with a big bill either way. Each menu item is over priced.
